Girl’s Gorgeous Rebirth By Novia Ford -
Chapter 41
Chapter 41
I always found it strange in my previous life. Did Emilia know who Frederic’s wife was? Did Emilia know what Frederic’s wife’s name was and what she looked like? After all, it would have been easy for
Frederic to know the truth given his status.
But Frederic and I hardly had any photos together, and I was extremely low–key and rarely appeared in public. There were almost no pictures of me online.
Emilia wiped her tears and shook her head. “No. I couldn’t be with him. Why would I investigate him? Besides…”
“And what else?” I became a little impatient.
“I dare not check. Although I did not promise him, being pursued by a married man makes me feel disgusted. I know he has a wife. Once I replace out who his wife is, I will feel even more guilty and unable to face the truth,” Emilia said, tears streaming down her face.
This reason truly surprised me. Was it just because she felt ashamed that she couldn’t face the truth?
In the previous life, did she also choose to deceive herself for the same reason?
I remained silent for a while before sighing, “Alright. Anyway, no matter what choices you make in the future, don’t regret them.‘
After saying that, I left. It’s good to have Emilia here taking care of Ruben.
When I got home, I was surprised to see that Frederic had already
returned. Kira was pouring him coffee.
“Kira, why did you come back?” I asked as I changed my shoes. “You took half a day off, you could have come back tomorrow morning.”
Kira shook her head. “Mrs. Hudson, it didn’t take that long. I had already taken care of things at home
I understand now. No wonder Emilia called Ruben on her own initiative. Kira must have played a necessary role.
After pouring me a cup of coffee, Kira left. In the living room, only Frederic and I remained, sitting face to face, silently sipping our coffees without speaking for a long time.
“Tomorrow is my dad’s birthday, remember to prepare a gift for him.” I reminded him.
“Did my mom say you gave her a pair of bracelets?” Frederic asked.
“Yes. Doesn’t she like collecting these? Coincidentally, I have a pair of purple bracelets. I don’t usually wear bracelets, so I gave them to her,” I replied nonchalantly.
Frederic looked at my face, seemingly probing something. He crossed his legs and leaned back comfortably on the couch, his broad arms casually resting on either side. He asked, “What do you want to do? Please my mother?”
We stared at each other. In my memory, we had never had such long eye contact before.
-I–gave my mother–in–law a bracelet in order to please her and make her
more critical of Emilia in the future. I repeatedly helped Ruben to achieve psychological balance. And I tried to get close to Tristan to make Frederic feel uncomfortable.
These are all my thoughts. I don’t care about success or failure because I never intended to turn the tables.
“I was her daughter–in–law. Is it not normal for me to please my mother–in–law?” I asked with a clear conscience. “Frederic, you don’t need to doubt what I’m up to. You just need to know one thing. If you want a divorce now, I can sign the papers immediately.”
“Then I have to give you 3% of the shares?” Frederic’s gaze turned cold.
“Do you still feel it wasn’t worth it until now?” I asked, with a meaningful tone.
Frederic squinted his eyes. I couldn’t understand the meaning in his eyes. After a moment of silence, his response was as usual. He said, “Stop dreaming.”
I thought, “Did Frederic consider for a while and realize that Emilia wasn’t worth a 3% stake? He pursued her for almost half a month, almost breaking her up with her boyfriend, but in the end, he didn’t even know his own feelings.”
“What if I didn’t want anything?” I gazed at Frederic, my voice barely a whisper.
