Chapter 272

At dinner, Harry and Avery expressed their great gratitude to Emily andFranklin and wished them a happy marriage.

Ivy still found the reality hard to accept, but being consoled by Ryan,she raised her glass and congratulated them. Michelle, on the otherhand, was as amiable as she usually was and enjoyed talking with Emily.Alan was still the same. He just had a drink and didn't say a word.

In the midst of the meal, Emily wanted to use the bathroom. Since thebathroom in the private suite was occupied by Michelle, Emily had nochoice but to go outside.

But when she came out of the bathroom, she saw Alan coming too.Emily was embarrassed to see him because of their old grudges. SoEmily didn't intend to talk to him. She just nodded politely as agreeting.

Just as she was about to walk past him, Alan suddenly said, "Are youlooking for a child?”

Emily was stunned and immediately snapped to look at Alan with shockin her eyes.

Alan said faintly, "It's not a secret. Everyone knows that he's looking fora child all over the world. It's not surprising that I know it, but I know alittle more than others. I know where the child is."

"You're lying." Emily was taken aback, but she quickly calmed down. Shedidn't believe that Alan knew the whereabouts of her son given thatFranklin had been looking for so long without replaceing any affirmativeclues.

"I know you don't believe me, and I don't care. Anyway, I know wherethat child is. I can prove it. This is a recent photo of him. See if he's yourson." Alan took out his phone and showed Emily a photo.

Emily's eyes widened and she immediately reached out to grab thephone.

The child in the photo was indeed Bryce. She hadn't seen him for solong and he had changed a little. He seemed to be taller, thinner, andhis lips were pressed together tightly. Although it was just a blurryphoto, she still recognized her son at a glance.

Alan took his phone back, leaving Emily in huge disappointment.

"I can't give you the photo.”

"Where did you see him?" Emily asked anxiously.

Alan said, "If you want to know, I'll wait for you at Miki Cafe tomorrownight. But Franklin can't know about this. If you tell him, I won't tell youwhere the child is. You can try. He hasn't got any clues for so long. If Idon't tell you where the child is, he won't replace the whereabouts of thechild for another year.”

"You took my son away, didn't you?" Emily gritted her teeth and asked.Alan smirked and said, "To your disappointment, No. It's just acoincidence."

After that, he walked straight ahead and quickly turned into thebathroom.

Emily clenched her fists and wanted to stop him and ask him whereBryce was. But she knew she couldn't because she didn't know if Brycewas in his hands. If she angered him, she didn't know what wouldhappen.

"Hey, you two weren't talking just now, were you?" Ivy came out,looked at Emily, and asked doubtfully.

Emily came back to her senses and looked at Ivy in a daze.

She didn't notice Ivy coming. She didn’t know when she came and ifshe had heard their talk.

But judging from Ivy's puzzled expression, she probably didn't hearanything!

So Emily shook her head and said, "No. I barely know him. I havenothing to talk with him."

Ivy pursed her lips and said coldly, “Listen, you'd better stay away fromhim. Although it frustrates me a lot that brother Franklin marries you inthe end, I can do nothing about it. Alan seems inoffensive, but he'sactually ambitious. He's shrewd and dangerous. You'd better becareful.”

"Then let's go back early.” Franklin said.

Soon the dinner was over. Harry suggested going to karaoke. Franklinrefused and wished them a fun night. Then he put his arm aroundEmily's shoulder and left with her.

Emily glanced at Alan when she left with Franklin. Alan remained thesame, but his eyes were profound.

"What ails you?" After getting in the car, Franklin let her lie in his arms.Emily shook her head. Although she felt a little uncomfortable, it wasnothing compared to the discomfort in her heart.

She lay in Franklin's arms so that he could not see her face, afraid thathe would figure out something from her face.

"I miss Bryce." After a while, Emily couldn't help but say.

Franklin gave a start. He rubbed her forehead and said, "Jason is stillinvestigating. Even if I have to turn China upside down, I will replace him.”"But I'm afraid... I'm afraid that he will forget us as time passes by."Emily clenched her fists and sobbed.
