Her Forever -
Chapter 31
Seth
No one should ever have to experience what I saw today. To see your mate in someone else’s arms and be at their mercy. My mate didn’t deserve any of this; she didn’t even deserve me. My connection with her was a blessing, a gift, and I’ve only had her a week and lost her. I failed her as a mate to protect her.
Failure that is all my mind could think about, constantly on repeat. I failed to protect the pack; I failed to protect my mate, and I failed the Moon Goddess with the extra strength that she had given me. I failed tremendously, and it showed by the devastation left on the Pineville Pack. Even with our wolves sensing danger, it still wasn’t enough. I couldn’t think of what it could have actually been like if we had no warning at all.
We were lucky that we did not have any casualties; it was a blessing. Some fires were being slowly put out in the northern part of the territory, broken glass, and only cosmetic damages done in the small town were reported. Sadie protected the pups as she locked them in the safe room. I only found out she left to save the one that ran out of the room unexplainably. Sadie would do that, protect every child, even if it meant putting her life in danger. My love should have stayed and listened. Then again, she was nothing but a selfless person, putting herself in danger. No one would have been able to get into the safe room to grab her if she had just stayed.
She was just a human, weak and fragile. With her state of whatever curse was on her, she still risked her life for one. My heart tightens in my chest, knowing she will feel scared and alone when she finally wakes up, if she wakes up.
The amount of b***d flowing from her eyes put fear into my soul. I’ve never seen such a reaction with the use of magic. Dark or black magic had to be the cause, and her being human only made it worse.
Once King Dragos and his stupid minion Raul left with Sadie, Nathan was my target. I wanted to kill him right then let out all my pent-up frustration and anger. He was let out of his cell; no one in their right mind would have freed this i***t. He was deemed a traitor to all of us. It was only Sadie that wanted him pardoned for his crimes.
As I held his beating heart in my hand, still trapped in his chest, I thought about ending his pathetic life right there. His vulnerability gave me an urge to take my emotional pain out on him physically. Being able to squeeze the life out of someone’s body with just a tightening of my hand gave me such power.
Sadie’s face flashed before my eyes as I was squeezing his still-beating heart. Would she want this? Would she want me to forgive? Nathan showed immediate regret and tried to save her. Compromising would be the only option.
After my rant, I spat in his face and left the room. We were going to get Sadie back; we were going to save her, and I would keep her by my side always. I will never trust another wolf to protect her. She is mine, and I am hers, and together we will always be.
Lucky for us, we could capture three of the hundreds of vampires that stormed the territory. Alpha Adrien had them locked up in the prison cells of the pack house basement. Vampires could withstand the sun but are considerably weakened when exposed to too much UV light. Lucky for us, Alpha Adrien had cells lined up with tanning bed lights put on the highest setting. Something I will have to add to my pack house basement.
My team and I went down to the basement as Alpha Adrien ordered most of his pack for the clean-up of the territory. You could smell the rotting flesh and metallic b***d reeking from the cells. Vampire scents disgust me. The three were tied to the chair in regular ropes, obviously weakened by the light.
Grabbing a few stakes and silver knives, we walked into the cell, ready for a proper interrogation. Before starting, I turned to Nathan, who seemed hesitant. The gaping hole in his chest was almost fully closed, but his body had been physically fatigued from using his wolf’s healing powers.
“I need to know exactly what was said to you, Nathan. Every last word, don’t leave anything out,” I spoke with authority.
“Raul came to me,” he stated. “He proposed I would steal Sadie and take her to her cabin, where they would erase her memory, and I could take her away,” I growled at the thought that he wanted my mate. “Raul said the reasoning was he didn’t want you to become too powerful. Since you would have your mate, your strength would be multiplied and would put an uneven balance of power to the Bergarian. He ultimately wants the vamps in control.” Nathan stated.
I nodded and turned to the vampires. The three looked at me with stoic faces, so I punched them in their jaws, hearing a quick crack. “We can do this the easy way or hard way. What will it be, fuckers?”
None of them spoke, and I nodded to Nathan and Marco. Both Nathan and Marco were trained in ways of torture by me as well as the royals. I felt confident in their capability to get them to talk, especially since they wouldn’t be healing anytime soon.
I took Ethan with me upstairs, ready for The Ministry to show up, as well as extra trackers and warriors from packs across Bergarian. We could quadruple our numbers to help replace Sadie. I know she wouldn’t be dragged into Bergarian because of the fae and witch curses. Humans were not allowed there and would cause great harm to the human and the one trying to smuggle her across. She was going to be here on Earth, and Earth was obviously a big place.

Sadie had been gone for over 7 hours, and The Ministry, as well as reinforcements, finally arrived. Ethan was to debrief the new recruits and sent out in hunting parties immediately.
I took The Ministry to the conference room, ready to speak with them. Only they could help me with Sadie’s health once she came back. I was to be sure she would be safe.
Handing over the medical records, pictures of the incident, and debriefing of what happened the night before, The Ministry stood silent. The Ministry held two faes, two witches, one vampire and two werewolves. They were all well versed in curses and magic for all the different species of Bergarian.
Alania, the vampire, was the only one representing her race. Vampires liked to stay hidden away from other cultures and races.
“Have you determined what this might be?” I said as calmly as I could.
Alania stood up and clasped her hands together. “Alpha Seth, it is the work of a vampire, like your hypothesis has showed.” her voice was smooth and angelic, something not common for a vampire race. “Unfortunately, it is laced with dark magic.”
The room stilled; Alpha Adrien and his team bowed their heads as my warriors in the room started growling. They were already protective of Sadie and considered her the Luna already without the mark showing it.
“This is a powerful compulsion or persuasion that the vampire has used. To magnify it, a witch or sorcerer tampered with it by using their own dark magic. It is done at the same time the vampire uses their power. She received double the dosage of supernatural powers. For a human, it can cause damage to the body and mind.” Her head bowed, and she put her hand on her forehead. “We cannot cure her unless she is here.”
My fist hit the mahogany table, causing it to splinter. “Is there anything else we need to know about this? Is she breaking the barrier in her mind on her own? Is that why she bleeds when she remembers things?” I yelled.
“Yes, her memories are trying to surface, Alpha. It is best she is doing it slowly, but the way she was bleeding last night, it seems the vampire is trying to do it all at once. This could harm her mentally unless proper light magic is used. With her being human, it complicates things.”
The room was silent as we pondered her words. There was nothing we could do to save her. She wasn’t here for us to break her of this curse. She was going to be alone until we saved her.
“If we could get to her, we could magically lift the curse, and she would no longer have pain and have her memory restored. No damage would be done to her mind or body. We just need to replace her quickly,” one witch spoke.
I turned to the rest of the room. My fist clenched so tightly, and my palms may be bleeding. My world, my happiness, was taken away from me so quickly, and by Goddess, I was going to get her back.
Sadi
“Hello darling, I’m your Aunt Marie, and this is Uncle Jeremy,” the kind woman told me. I looked up at them both in awe of how tall they were compared to me. I turned around to see two faceless adults standing behind me. “Go on, dear, we will visit every two weeks. This is only temporary, alright?” the kind woman spoke as she tucked a piece of my hair behind my ear. “But, Mama, I don’t want you to leave. I can’t be without you and Papa!” I cried, feeling heartbreaking at the thought of my parents leaving me. “Why must I stay? I promise to be strong.” I pleaded.“Sabrina, you don’t have a wolf. You are human. You know the laws. You cannot live in Bergarian until you replace a mate and then become one of us. It is only for a little bit, alright?” A small tear fell down her cheek as she held me tightly. “The only reason why you could stay as long as you did was because of light magic. Too much magic isn’t good on your little body.”
“Amongst other things,” Papa growled. Mama looked back at him, but still could not see their faces.
“Just for a bit, this is only a small portion of time in your life. Besides, Maria and Jeremy are a lot of fun. They can take you swimming at the lake and ski in the winter.” My eyes lit up. “You won’t be far. Bergarian is only a few hours away from the Pineville Pack,” Papa said. My l*p wobbled, looking back at them. In my heart, I knew I couldn’t stay and they couldn’t come with me. I just couldn’t understand the why. “Come now, Sabrina, let’s go back to the cabin. Your parents will visit us soon.” I went to walk with Maria and Jeremy and looked back at my parents one last time until they turned around and walked through a large stone archway in the middle of the woods. Their backs disappeared, and a few lone tears left my cheek.

I could not only see that it was dark, but it also felt dark. The air was cold while the covers I was hidden under held a little warmth. There was a small smoldering fire on the opposite side of the room.
Deep, cold colors decorated the room. Black, grey, and some dark blues littered the walls and furniture. I sat up in bed slowly, afraid to attract too much attention to myself. Someone could be watching, and it felt like someone was watching.
I stared at the fire before me, wishing the flame were larger. Maybe then I would feel the warmth that I was missing. However, it wasn’t my skin that felt cold, but my heart. I was missing Seth, and I couldn’t even feel his presence any longer.
The last thing I remembered was the pain, scorching pain. My eyes, nose, and mouth had b***d dripping from them. I honestly thought I was going to die from the pain. I felt it pumping not just through my head, but through the veins of my body. All touch and sounds became larger and louder. The faintest touch of my body seared through my soul. The pain subsided for a brief period when the vampire took my arm and held me in his embrace. He was certainly a wolf in sheep’s clothing.
It was a disgusting feeling.
It was as if he caused the pain, and only he could relieve it.
Sick.
The vampire was terrifying. He was handsome, but in the most devilish way. It gave me goosebumps how his dark aura radiated the room. It wasn’t a feeling I wanted to experience again, but I have an unfortunate hunch he won the fight in the end.
My Seth, I hope he was alright. I hope all of them were safe, but I couldn’t help but feel jealous I wasn’t back with them. Why take me and make me suffer? I don’t even know the vampire.
And this dream, this dream I awoke from, was it me in the dream? My name isn’t Sabrina, or is it? Was I standing in place of another? Aunt Maria was so beautiful; she had long raven hair and had a sparkle in her eye as she held Jeremy’s hand. Jeremy was tall and muscular. His smile could bewitch any woman, but he only looked at Maria.
It must have been me, and it had to have been. She never cared for anyone else that I know of.
Sabrina. Was this part of my missing memories? Was my name truly Sabrina? It doesn’t sound foreign to my tongue. In fact, it sounded soothing. Could this really be my name?
Before I could think any further, a loud knock was at the door. The large oak door creaked open as a dark figure entered. It was the same man that had grabbed my arm and held me to his chest. What was he going to do with me now?
“Hello, little Dove. I’m King Drago, King of the Vampires.”
