Her Forever -
Chapter 48
Seth
There was only one time in my life when I felt my heart stop beating in my chest. It was when I finally laid my eyes on my beautiful mate. My heart had come dangerously close to stopping again as I read the first few words on the parchment paper.
Dearest Sabrina,
Our Sadie, as you are now called. If you are reading this letter, it means we have failed you in keeping you safe. You, my daughter, born to King Emilio and myself, Queen Estar are our daughter.
Falling back into the chair I slapped my head to my forehead. She was a f*****g princess. I knew she was always special, but I never guessed a princess.
I hope you may understand why we had you leave with your aunt and uncle, but it was of the utmost importance to conceal you. King Drago, King of the Vampires, has become obsessed with you. He believes you are his mate when he is not. You were born with no wolf; you were indeed human. Drago saw this as his opportunity to change you into a vampire and control two kingdoms, and help calm the demon inside. You are special, Sabrina. The goddess came to me in a dream while pregnant and deemed you a merciful soul, blessed by the goddess Charis. She blessed upon you her grace, beauty, and life. Drago found your gifts soothing and wanted it for himself. Once we realized this, my sister, your aunt and uncle swift you away to the Earth realm to hide in the Pineville Creek Pack.
This letter is placed here in case our efforts were in vain. This is your history. Come back to us Sabrina, my little Sadie.
Much Love, Your Mother and Father
Crumpling the paper with my left hand, I stood up quickly and stormed out of the room. Running to the third story balcony, I let out a monstrous growl. The pack house was already in disarray. Children were running to the panic room while the older children that had not yet shifted took care of them. Some warriors were putting on their gear, while others transformed right into the foyer. All stopped to look at their Alpha Warrior.
“I have come to light with new information.” I spoke boldly. “Sadie, is the lost princess of King Emilio and Queen Estar.” Gasps came from around the room while some elders mumbled to each other in panic. “This means we will also have the support of the Royal Pack. Nathan and Diana, I need you to go and explain. Leave.” My tone was clipped as they both ran out of the pack house to the portal to get to the next realm.
“As for the rest of you,” I began, but I felt a sharp pain in my torso. Caspian was coming out, and he was not being gentle. Trying to keep him contained, you could hear whispers of worry spread across the foyer as Caspian turned us both turn into the half-man, half beast. He reared his ugly head as I watched in the back of his mind while he unleashed the mightiest howl of pain. The children covered their ears while the adults whimpered at his power.
Caspian’s claws gripped the banister and I could feel the splinters invade our palms, but caused us no pain. “Now listen here.” Caspian snapped. “No one rests until our Luna is back,” He growled. His fangs were dripping with venom as he continued. “Drago is mine.” The crowd was so quiet the small heartbeats of the children could be heard.
“Beta, gather warriors and trackers. Leave now.” Marco nodded and led them all out the front door at lightning speed. “Delta, stay with the pack. Help Alpha Adrien with any news you may receive. Link me when backup arrives.” Caspian didn’t wait for a reply before letting out another long battle cry before jumping from the banister, leaving two giant paw prints into the dark cherry wood of the foyer.
Caspian ran out the door and began our search. For two days we travelled in the pack grounds. Several scouts even travelled outside the pack area with no sign of Sadie. Wolves were growing tired, and we continued to wait for the King and Queen to arrive. After 56 hours of searching, everyone came back to the pack house to eat and rest. Caspian finally let me have control over our exhausted body and went up the stairs.
Sadie had vanished. If there was a cloaking spell, there was no way we could track her. I was losing her. Each day that went by, I felt a piece of me chip away. Caspian was coming back at full force, me becoming the heartless person I could be before I met my sweet Sadie. I never realized how much I had changed with her.
Trying to rest was pointless. I stared at the ceiling, wondering if she was alright. Was she hurt? Had he touched her? I ripped through the mattress with one swipe and feathers flew around the room. Pushing lamps, tables, couches, the rage that kept building in me was stifling. I couldn’t get enough. I wanted b***d.
I was about to punch my hand through the wall to feel some physical pain when Ethan burst through the room. “Alpha, they are here.” Stopping mid punch, I composed myself the best I could and started walking to the door to meet them downstairs, when they decided to come through my bedroom doors.
s**t. Great way to meet the in-laws.
King Emilio and Queen Estar came through the door in plain attire. They weren’t dressed in fancy robes or crowns on their heads. They were dressed, ready to search for their daughter. I took a knee and kneeled down to them while crossing one arm over my chest. “Your Highnesses.” I spoke softer.
“So this is the great Alpha warrior I’ve heard about. Your strength and brutality has helped keep our kingdom safe for many years. We thank you.” King Emilio spoke.
“It is but an honor.” I replied.
“I suppose a suitable reward was our daughter. Now you will be king when the time comes.” Queen Estar’s voice smoothed her husband’s rough one. She smiled at me and put her hand out to lift me from my stance. “We are so happy she found you. We were worried you both would never cross paths after she was lost.”
“Wait, did you know? Did you know that we were mates?” I asked, confused.
“My wife did.” King Emilio took his wife’s hand and kissed it tenderly. “She has the gift of sight. Things can alter the future, but this coupling seems to stay true. Once she received the vision from Selene, we had her moved at once so Drago couldn’t get to her,” he spat.
“Our warriors are here. They are out scouting, so you may all rest. Your Beta gave us a debriefing.” The queen spoke. “It looks like you are not resting, however.” She took a quick glance around the room, feathers still falling.
“I-I apologize. Sadie, er, Sabrina is my comfort and her not here has caused Caspian and I trouble.” I rubbed my hand behind my neck.
“Of course, and your ability to control your half-wolf form is quite impressive. Only royalty wolves can do that. Selene and the gods have had some fun having you two to become mated. Since before you have been born, it looks like it has been planned.” he let out a hardy laugh and slapped me on the back.
My mouth hung open at the casualness from both of these royal beings. They have been around for a 1000 years and yet act they are my own age. Age really is just a number. I go to speak, but Alpha Adrien comes into the room.
No one knows how to knock anymore.
“Diana thinks she has found something. It is at the South-East end of the territory. There has been a lot of magical mist in that area recently. We should all go check it out.” Realizing that royalty was in the room, Adrien quickly got on both knees and apologized profusely. After a quick, “Do not worry, we are here for Sadie,” speeches we headed out.

It has been a full week. Sadie’s parents stayed in wolf form the entire time they had been here. Everyone was circling the South East and South part of the territory. We had a feeling something was there, but couldn’t see or smell anything. We were going in blind. Caspian was threatening to come out and rip some heads off some warriors for taking breaks, and I was having a hard time controlling him.
“I need mate, she’s near. I feel her.”
I couldn’t feel her, but somehow Caspian could. What could hold us back? I felt someone trying to link me, not wanting to answer so I could sulk in my own thoughts. I did it anyway.
“Seth! Can you hear me!? “
“Sadie?” my voice cracked. “Sadie, is that you?”
After our brief conversation, I held on to the invisible string, hoping to replace her more quickly.
Quickly calling everyone, I replayed what Sadie told me. Since we know we are dealing with magic and a cloaking spell, Diana rushed back to the pack house to see if she could replace an unbinding spell to take away the charm placed upon the tree. We just had to pinpoint what tree would be good for a hiding spot.
Sniffing around, Nathan came to a large tree with a a sizable hole in the middle of the trunk and yipped at me to come over. Sniffing it, you could smell a faint rotting smell coming from inside. “It could be a vampire or nothing, but it is worth a shot?” Nathan said. I nodded as we waited for Diana to return.
Sadie contacted me again shortly, but as quick as she came, her link vanished again. Caspian was prancing around the tree, pawing and bark at the stump. Rearing his head back, he howled. Then I felt it, I felt another presence in Sadie. It was her wolf. The magic had been concealing her and her wolf.
Diana, who I had not noticed, was standing beside me chanting, slowly taking down the barriers as I continued to feel Sadie’s bond within me as well as her new wolf. I beamed in pride knowing she did this all on her own. She was so strong.
Sadie’s parents came up to the tree, feeling her too, and started yipping in excitement while the warriors were ready for an attack. As the magic dispersed, the large tree turned into a massive cottage that had hidden in plain sight.
An enormous battle cry came inside the cottage as we heard bones breaking and screams penetrating the walls. Warriors stood in shock and horror, not knowing what to do because the cry that came from the cottage was ear piercing and made their wolves shiver in fright. Only for me and my wolf, it made us shiver in delight.
