His Alpha Female
Chapter 37

"Derrick asked after you today," Drystan said and I pulled away from his chest so I could look at his face. "For real?" I asked and he nodded his head, "that means he came to the training ground?"

"No... He called for us, but I went alone so he asked about you, told him you had something important to do, but I didn't go into details" he explained and I smiled, then snuggled closer to him and began drawing random lines on his chest. "Why did he call for us tho? Any problem?"

"He wants us to help with the marriage preparations"

I immediately sat upright on the bed with a frown on my face, "why do we have to do that? Can't he hire planners and all that?" I asked and Drystan sat up as well, "I mean we have training, we can't leave that because we have a wedding to plan" I grumbled and Drystan sucked his teeth

"Should I be worried you are acting like this about planning his wedding?" He asked and my eyes widened.

"No! Of course not" I breathed out and shook my head rapidly, "I just have this entire identity thing going on, and training and now a wedding to plan. I don't feel up to it" I grumbled and he pulled me into his chest.

"One day, you're going to take over your pack and you'll have way more responsibilities than this. I don't think this should be a big deal for you" he said and I wanted to reply, but he continued, "and we don't have much to do with the wedding, he has planners, we just need to run a couple of things for him. And the identity thing, Selene" he called out and lifted my jaw to look up at him.

"I don't think you should bother yourself with all that, so what if your parents aren't your biological parents, it doesn't change anything, you're still you, Annha Selene"

"But it does! It affects and changes everything" I exclaimed and pulled away from him, "it's way deeper than you think, Drystan, I mean my wolf's gone and that could be the reason. There are also a bunch of other things, it's not just about my parents and my relationship with them, it's about me, it's about who I am, okay? It really goes way deeper than you think" I explained and he sighed.

He grabbed my hand and placed a kiss on it, "I'm sorry for undermining something that means a lot to you" he apologized and I smiled forcefully, "I'll support you in any way I can, even if it means constantly covering your duties for the wedding and training, so you can focus on uncovering the truth, okay?" He assured me and I nodded.

"Thank you, and I promise I'll try to not neglect my duties because of this," I said and he pulled me into his arms.

"Enough of the sulking now, tell me in detail how your day with Clarisse went. We didn't get to talk much on it while we were cooking" he whispered into my ear and my mind drifted to the wolf boy's drawing, but I shook my head and decided to leave everything about it out of the picture.

I started telling him about my day with Clarissa, and just like that we began talking about a bunch of other things and talked a lot until late in the night, when we just drifted off to sleep, which is why I was so not ready for the alarm that rang as early as 6 am. "Turn it off!" I yelled and covered my ears with the pillow, which didn't do anything to drown out the noise of the ridiculously loud alarm. "Why is it so loud?" I cried out to Drystan when he finally turned off the alarm.

He shot me an apologetic smile and kissed my forehead, "Good morning. I'm sorry about that, today's going to be kind of hectic so I decided to get up earlier" he explained and I sat upright on the bed and stretched. "Really? What's on our schedule?"

He raised his eyebrow and cocked his head to the side, "our?" He asked and I nodded, "Don't you need to stay home and read the book?"

"Well, I should but..." I started but he immediately cut me off.

"I know you want to help babe, but I think you should stay home and get the book done with, okay?" He said and I was about to protest but he shook his head, and stopped me right on my track, "no arguments. I'm going to freshen up now" he mumbled and I nodded with a big smile on my face.

I watched him disappear into his bathroom with a fond smile on my face before I stretched and stood up from the bed. I immediately ran to my bathroom and took care of my face and teeth, before I proceeded to run downstairs and fix him a quick breakfast. I successfully made him pancakes, and this time I didn't pour nor burn any of them, "Look! A successful meal" Drystan teased when he walked downstairs and we both chuckled before he settled down on one of the dining chairs and dug in, "you're so good at cooking!" He complimented when he chewed a piece of it and swallowed.

A smile graced my face at the compliment and I mumbled, "thank you", he gave me a flying kiss and we both faced our breakfast after that, and just ate quietly and comfortably.

We both finished our breakfast faster than I expected, and did the dishes together before Drystan set out to leave, "I'll see you later, good luck with the reading" he said and placed a kiss on my cheek.

"Thank you, and have a good day!" I said and kissed his cheek too, he smiled and then walked out of the house.

I sighed when I heard his car drive out of the driveway and I slumped on the couch and picked up the book that has been laying on the table since yesterday and opened it, "I guess it's me and you today," I mumbled and flipped over to the page that had the drawing on it, and stared at the writing underneath it before I puffed out a breath and flipped to the next page and began reading.

"THE MARK OF THE MOON GODDESS'S FORGOTTEN ONE" I paused when I read the line, then read it again and raised an eyebrow and scoffed, "of course! I'm the moon goddess's forgotten one" I mumbled and continued reading.

"It is known that the moon goddess created two children, her werewolves and her witches but unknown to many of us, she has a third child, THE BLACK HYBRID, which shall only be conceived when a witch and a Trueblood mates"

"Truly ironic, considering she made the Truebloods despise the witches and vice versa. Hence the black hybrid got the name "the moon goddess's forgotten one" because one of such calibre can't exist"

"But, there is a possibility that it exists somewhere lurking with us like the prophecy foretold; The impossible concession shall exist one day for the benefit of the moon goddess's beloved"

I paused at the line and read it over and over again, but no matter how much I read it, I couldn't make sense of it, "this is just a badly written passage! What on Earth is this even saying!" I groaned and read it again and again, but nothing still made sense, "Is this even true!?" I questioned and glanced at the remaining paragraph of the passage, "I'll just read this and if it doesn't make sense, I'll keep in mind that I'm back to square one!"

I let out a breath and began reading the last paragraph, "the mark of the forbidden union shall be engraved on the hybrid upon birth, but will disappear over time till its union with its destiny"

I burst into laughter after I read the paragraph and just shut the book,

"I wasted my time to replace this only to get this crappy and badly written passage, that has done nothing but make me feel like a bloody clown! Just return my wolf!" I cried out and threw the book across the wall.

"I'm sick and tired of going round in circles over this. I don't want to know my identity or about the stupid mark, just return my wolf and I'm good!"

"But your wolf is all a part of the identity you don't want to discover" I heard someone say, and immediately turned, only to see Elphaba right behind me with the book in her hand and a creepy smile on her face.
