"EM ARE YOU COMING?" My uncle called out once more and I quickly turned off my monitor and went "Coming right now!" I yelled back and grabbed my phone.

I tried turning it on, holding my breath as the screen lit up with the phone's logo and I did a little happy dance. Thank god it wasn't broken.

I slid into the kitchen and saw my dad and uncle watching TV while I grabbed a few slices of pizza. My stomach instantly growled as I realized I hadn't eaten a single thing all day. I also grabbed my water bottle and filled it up with ice and water. "You guys need anything while I'm in here?" I hollered while screwing on the top of my water bottle.

"Yeah get me another slice of zah!" My uncle said, making me roll my eyes..why he called pizza zah baffled even me.

"Bug, can you bring me another beer?" My dad asked and I grabbed the beer and pizza, trying to balance it all as I shuffled into the living room.

My dad and Uncle were watching rally car racing while I sidled onto the sofa next to my uncle and put "Did you guys replace what you were looking for in the city?" I asked curiously, glancing at my dad as he "Maybe a little more than we were looking for." He said, glancing at my uncle who smirked. "What is it this time?" I sighed, raising my eyebrow knowing my uncle found trouble wherever he went "What?! It's not my fault the guy's wife was hitting on me." He said with a shrug and I scoffed.

My uncle was a total player..it didn't help that he was handsome as hell and was fully aware of it. He h our garage. So a lot of times it was hidden from me but once I got older I figured it out pretty quickly. After eating and hanging out with my family I heard my phone ping and realized I hadn't checked it ye 5 new texts

1:30 pm (From MacKenzie): Hey, just wanted to check in and make sure you were okay. Carson said you 12:20 pm (From Carson): Yo Em, is your phone working yet? You missed some big drama at brunch.

12:23 pm (From Carson): Also hope you are feeling better.

3:40 pm (From Tessa): You okay? Haven't heard from you.

10:20 am (From Unknown Number): Hey Emery it's Asher, I know you don't want to talk to me but I pro wasn't what it looked like. I ended things with Natalie a few weeks ago and she just randomly showed up..I should have said something right then but I was shocked..please, just text me when you get this.

My eyes widened..I read through my messages and seeing the one from Asher caused my stomach to drop. I reread the message at least twenty times...he broke up with the girl beforehand? I bit my lip and stood up, causing my dad and uncle to look at me curiously. "I'm going to head to bed. Love you both." I said quickly, giving them both a hug and heading upstairs.

I got into my room and shut the door, my heart was racing as I began to pace..I looked down at my phone once more.

It's done with, it doesn't matter..I chose Ronan and this never would have worked out with Asher anyways. I quickly clicked the message and hovered my finger over it, deciding to delete it.

I let out a heavy sigh and laid back on my bed. Why was this bothering me so much? It wouldn't have worked out...realistically I'm not even Asher's type. He never showed the slightest interest towards me until yesterday so it's not like he was really serious about us. Maybe he doesn't want me to tell Carson..I wouldn't do that anyway.

I took out my phone and decided to text back Mack and Carson.

To MacKenzie: hey sorry I just got my phone working again. How did shopping go?

To Carson: There is always drama at brunch..so sad I missed it. Feeling a lot better now. How are you doing? By the way..I really like Jackie, she seems awesome.

I remembered what Ronan said about the picture and quickly snapped one, smiling sweetly as I sent it in our messaging app.

Katina: logging on in a second, just going to brush my teeth.

I sent and attached the photo with it. I quickly went into the bathroom and brushed my teeth. That text from Asher still invading my mind as I shook my head..it didn't matter anymore. I need to just move on from it and be all in on Ronan.. It's better this way for everyone. He didn't even say he was still interested, he just wanted to explain everything..okay I'm done thinking about it..I've already moved on and made my decision.

After getting ready for bed I grabbed a blanket and sat in my computer chair, slipping on my headset. I logged into the game quickly, noticing Ronan was already on.

Katina: Hey guys :)

I typed into the group chat.

Slasher: Kat!! I saw her first, does that mean I get the reward money?

Dave4president: you were probably the one that kidnapped her to begin with.

Suddenly a screen popped up showing me that Ronan was calling me.

"Hey babe." He said quickly, causing my stomach to flip.

"Hey, sorry I took so long." I spoke softly.

Katina: sorry beasty, going to do a couple of raids.

I wrote into the chat not saying who I was going with. I don't think Ronan wants me to tell anyone we are together yet. He is a pretty private guy..now that I think about it..I'm not sure he even talks to anyone besides me outside of the game. "Come meet me at the portal babe." Ronan said as I quickly changed my equipment and sold a few things in my inventory.

"Okay, what raid did you want to do?" I asked, running my character towards the portal as I saw him waiting there.

Now..I know what I am about to say is super cheesy and lame..but seeing his character waiting for me actually made my heart flutter and my chest tighten. It's just a fake guy made in a video game waiting for me, but knowing Ronan is real and is actually super into me makes me feel all giddy and bubbly inside.

"Let's do Sandstone Temple babe." He informed me, running up to my character while waving. I couldn't help but laugh.

"You are so cute." I squeaked, smiling at the screen as I quickly cast a few protection spells on us.

"It is?" I asked surprised..feeling even more fluttery now from his words.

We played for a few hours, beating the raids together and talking about the game. I learned a few things about Ronan, like his favorite food is phad Thai and he loves to go to the movies. He is currently enrolled in college and is getting a degree in business. He loves to read comic books and watches anime too. One punch man is his current favorite.

"So..I wanted to ask..how are you still single?" I laughed, trying to make light of it but super curious as to why.

"I guess I have just been waiting for you." He said with an obvious smirk in his voice.

"Ronan.." I grumbled, feeling like he was just being a big flirt.

"It's true babe..I know it sounds cheesy, but I honestly feel like since we started talking, I have found my reason..my reason to be better, to try harder, to fight for something I want..you are it Em..you are everything I want." "I just asked what your plans were for tomorrow." He spoke quietly, his own voice sounding deep in thought.

"I think I might meet up with a friend for lunch. I'm not sure yet." I responded, trying to stifle another yawn.

"Oh? What friend?" He asked curiously.

"Her name is MacKenzie, she's the girl whose brother had the birthday party. His name is Carson..you don't have to worry about him though. He is like a brother to me..apparently, he has more loyalty to my dad than me though." I said with a soft laugh. "Why is that?" He asked me, cooly.

"Because he texted my dad that I was drunk that night..giving me up." I laughed, making Ronan chuckle lightly.

"I see, so he might tattle on you about me?" He teased, seemingly amused.

"Don't worry, I won't let them bully you." I quipped back sleepily, a full yawn hitting me now.

"Now I'm worried.." He laughed, causing me to join in as I snuggled deeper into my blanket.

"Mmm, I just wish you were here with me right now." I mumbled, unable to hold on for much longer.

"Soon, I promise." He whispered, causing me to moan happily.

I was drifting off to sleep, my eyes becoming heavier by the second as the sound of Ronan's breathing took over all my senses. I was about to slip under fully when I heard him speak softly..the words not making sense as they washed over me making me fall asleep. "I think I am falling in love with you, Emery Lewis." A voice whispered..a voice so familiar and yet so foreign that I couldn't register who was saying it..the last thought in my mind before I slipped into the dream world was wondering how Asher got on the phone and why he was whispering those sweet terrifying words.
