Chapter 375: You Are More Affectionate Than Your Father

Myles wanted to say something, but he felt his throat was so tight that he couldn't say anything.

Travis's voice came from the phone again. "If you think Bonnie is wrong for that matter, then don't go to her. Let her cry for a few days, and she will be fine."

Myles was speechless.

Travis finished what he wanted to say and waited for Myles to speak.

Myles was thinking about his words. He wanted to say something.

But the more he wanted to say, the more he couldn't think of anything appropriate.

He was somewhat stuck.

Travis seemed impatient. "Think about it yourself first."

Myles hummed when he heard Travis's words. "I see, Mr. Cooke."

Travis said, "Myles, many young chaps around her are pretty nice. You'd better think about it quickly. Time doesn't await you. Maybe after you think about it clearly, she is already not yours." What Travis said was too blunt, but it was the truth. Myles could only nod in response. "I know, Mr. Cooke."

Travis hummed this time. "Then I'll hang up first."

Myles responded, "Okay."

Just when Myles thought Travis hung up the phone, Travis paused again. "You and Isabel just got in touch recently, right?"

Myles heard Travis's voice on the phone again humming in a low voice. "I just got in touch with her recently."

Travis said gently, "She has nothing to do with the Cooke family. Let's put it this way, she is just Bonnie's mother and nothing else. If you help her or do anything for her, I won't appreciate it, and neither will Bonnie. Do you understand what I mean?"

After hearing Travis' words, Myles could sense a threat. He hummed gently. "Okay."

Only then did Travis hang up the phone.

Myles was lying on the hospital bed. Thinking of Bonnie crying like that in the car yesterday, his heart throbbed in pain.

But everything had been done, and it was useless to regret now.

Just as Myles was thinking about how to contact Bonnie, someone knocked on the ward door and then pushed it open.

When he saw the person coming in, Myles couldn't help but frown.

Before yesterday, Myles's attitude towards this person was still decent and respectful.

But after Bonnie told him what had happened then, he felt a bit of resistance in his heart when saw her again.

Isabel didn't seem to feel Myles's displeasure. She stepped forward and put the fruit basket in her hand on the bedside table, then turned around naturally and looked at Myles who was lying on the bed. "You should drink less alcohol, drinking too much will harm your health."

If Bonnie hadn't told the truth about what happened back then, he would definitely have been grateful and thanked Isabel for saying such things, but at this moment, Myles didn't want to say anything. He didn't even want to say hello to Isabel.

But even though he had clearly shown a bit of resistance, Isabel still sat down in the chair beside the bed affectionately and calmly, looking straight at Myles. "Did Bonnie tell you?"

When Myles heard Isabel's words, he was taken aback for a moment. His pretty eyebrows also frowned slightly without answering.

Isabel didn't feel embarrassed either. She said as if telling herself, "Your father and I loved each other. We made a mistake, and both of us were wrong."

When Myles heard Isabel say this, he frowned even more.

Isabel continued, "Back then, Bonnie's father and I had already discussed getting a divorce after Bonnie's college entrance exam, but for various reasons, we have been procrastinating, so we haven't divorced sooner. As for your father, we ..."

"I do not want to hear it."

Just when Isabel was about to continue, Myles interrupted Isabel in a cold voice. "I don't want to hear how you two got together. No matter what kind of state you were in with Harry Cooke at that time, I'm not interested. I also don't want to know how you and my dad got together. Anyway, both of you were still married, and it was wrong."

After Myles finished speaking, he looked at Isabel. "Didn't you think about Bonnie's feelings when you did this?"

Isabel didn't seem to expect that Myles would think from Bonnie's point of view at this moment.

Isabel looked at Myles and suddenly laughed. "You are a better lover than your father."

Myles frowned. "What do you mean?"

Isabel smiled and shook her head. "Actually, I knew about it when you had people look for me, but I didn't want to come back. I didn't want to come back to this city full of memories, and I didn't want to meet anyone here."

"Does that include Bonnie, too?"

Isabel nodded and said calmly, "Yes, she was the last person I wanted to see, but I had to come back."

Having said that, Isabel looked at Myles. "Do you know why I resisted coming back here so much?"

Myles didn't speak, just looked at Isabel, waiting for her next words.

Isabel was silent for a few seconds, and she spoke, "To tell you the truth, I did come back for a purpose. I went to see old Mr. Cooke last night, and his attitude is still as tough as before. He has clearly drawn boundaries with me. I have nothing to do with the Cooke family. I'm just Bonnie's mother, nothing more."

Myles still didn't speak.

After hearing Isabel's words, Myles couldn't help being a bit curious. Since Isabel resisted coming back to Manches City so much, why did she come back?

"I wanted to borrow some money from you, but I don't need it now."

Before Myles asked why Isabel spoke first.

After hearing Isabel's words, Myles looked at her. "Do you want money?"

Isabel nodded. "I needed the money and wanted it from you, but now I don't want it anymore."

"Why?"

Isabel shook her head. "I went to see your parents last night."

When Myles heard these words, he looked at Isabel anxiously, and his eyes darkened a little.

"I went to apologize to your mother. I seduced him back then. Your father... He just made a mistake that all men do."

When Myles heard Isabel's words, he laughed. "It's ironic that all men make such mistakes."

Isabel also laughed. "After the accident, Bonnie didn't talk to me anymore."

"Yesterday was the longest time she ever spoke to me after what happened then. She begged me to stay away from her, from you, from this city. She asked me never to come back."

When Isabel said this, her voice was choked with sobs. "I didn't know she could hate me so much. Even you don't hate me as deeply as she does."
