Whitney's cold move drew everyone's attention.

"Danny, let's go pack our stuff," she said, bypassing Ludwik with a heavy heart, taking Danny's hand. "Whitney!" Ludwik hurried to catch up with her, reaching out to stop her. "Can we talk about Sammy?"

She broke free and walked into the mansion. The light was dim, but the blue and white walls made her pale face appear even paler. She looked exhausted, as if she hadn't slept all night.

Ludwik frowned with concern. "Didn't you sleep well last night?"

At his words, Whitney suddenly laughed. "I doubt I'm the only one who didn't sleep well. Aren't you busy, Mr. Lippert? Do you actually have any leads on Sammy, or are you just stringing me along with made-up clues?"

Ludwik narrowed his eyes. "What do you mean by that? Why would I lie to you if I didn't have any leads?"

Whitney smirked. "Who knows what you're thinking. Weren't you at Florence's last night? How could you have time to worry about Sammy?"

"I..." Ludwik froze. She knew? How did she replace out?

"Ms. Valentine, you're mistaken. Mr. Lippert was at the Sheldon estate last night, trying to get close to Florence's doctor to replace leads," Felix tried to clarify.

Tiana couldn't hold back her anger any longer. "Stop making excuses! Whitney called you last night, and Florence answered. Everyone knows you were together! You have no idea how much Whitney cried last night. Go ahead and get engaged to that vixen, but why keep bothering Whitney? You're just playing with her feelings over Sammy!"

Ludwik's eyes darkened. "You called me?"

"Your precious Florence must have deleted it," Whitney scoffed.

Ludwik, choking on his words, firmly held her shoulders. "Whitney... let me explain!"

"I don't want to hear it. Whatever happened between you and Florence is to be expected," Whitney said, her voice cold yet pained.

Her indifference hurt Ludwik. Did she not care anymore?

He tried to speak, his voice rough, a shadow in his eyes. "Since you don't want to hear about that, let me tell you something else. I have a lead on Sammy. I managed to get someone to slip up last night. He's been in contact with Sammy through Florence. If we keep an eye on him, we might replace Sammy."

Whitney's attention snapped back to him. "You're not lying?"

Ludwik looked at her with a self-mocking smile. "Why would I lie to you about this?"

"I'll keep you posted," he said, turning to leave with a heavy heart. All Whitney cared about now was Sammy, not whether or not he and Florence were together. Feeling powerless, Ludwik realized the extent of the damage he had inadvertently caused. Now, all he could do was protect the child Whitney might be carrying.

At the Sheldon estate, Holly rushed to Florence's room early in the morning.

"Did you manage to snag Ludwik last night?" Holly circled Florence, eager for good news but noticed her daughter's grim expression.

Florence's voice was cold. "I used every trick, even hallucinogens to make him think I was Whitney, but he wouldn't take the bait. It didn't work."

"You didn't...?" Holly was disappointed.

"When Ludwik woke up..." Florence smirked. "Of course, I was in bed with him, insisting we slept together."

Holly's disappointment turned to joy. "He can't deny it now. If I bring this up to Jason, he'll have to make his son take responsibility."

But Florence wasn't optimistic. She showed her mother the check Ludwik gave her, a cold glint in her eye. "It's useless. He said even if we did sleep together, he wouldn't take responsibility." Holly was at a loss.

Florence was desperate. "I can create a scene, but without a child, I have no leverage to marry into the Lippert family."

"Perhaps we could replace a way to get Ludwik's...?" Holly suggested quietly.

Florence rejected the idea, disgusted by her mother's past actions. "Ludwik would know if the child wasn't his. I can't lose this chance, especially since Whitney might be pregnant." "Damn it!" Holly's expression darkened. "Why does that woman get everything?"

Florence and Holly were left scheming, their desperation growing as they plotted to secure Florence's place in the Lippert family by any means necessary.

The news hit Florence like a ton of

bricks, cutting through her thoughts as her mother's words of complaint echoed in the room. Her mind,

previously scattered, sudden/yel.ne

focused sharply, diving into deep contemplation.

She did the math. If Whitney had conceived on the night of the kidnapping, it would only be about two weeks by now. How Ludwik found out about Whitney's

pregnancy was beyond her, bl net

Florence felt pretty confident in her guess. Whitney was indeed pregnant. A fertilized egg, from conception to implantation in the womb, takes about two weeks.

Slowly standing up, Florence looked at her mother lost in thought, a plot brewing in her mind!

"What's on your mind, Florence? You seem distant," Holly asked, puzzled by her daughter's intense gaze.

A cold, calculating gleam flashed

through Florence's eyes as she smiled, wrapping her arm around Holly. "Mother, you've actually sparked an idea... If Whitney really is pregnant, it might not be such a bad thing after all. I was thinking about Do Ryan. He's quite accomplished in the field of IVF treatments."

"What are you talking about?" Holly didn't quite catch on, only noticing the smile on her daughter's face.

Without another word, Florence turned on her heel, calling out for Myra with a smile playing on her lips, "Can you arrange a meeting with Dr. Ryan? I have an important matter to discuss with him!"
