Love beyond the mask ( Whitney ) -
Chapter 546
Florence felt a surge of confidence within her. Did Ludwik really think their relationship had met its end? No. It hadn't. A sly smile flickered across her lips, almost imperceptible. "Ludwik's already waiting for you inside, don't dawdle or you'll regret it!" warned the bodyguard, someone from Parker's crew who deeply despised this cunning girl.
Creak- The moment the villa's grand door swung open, Florence caught sight of Ludwik, lounging casually with his legs crossed. He seemed like the Grim Reaper waiting for her, his eyes devoid of emotion, filled only with contempt and hostility. Her composure vanished, replaced by a look of bewildered vulnerability as she stood at the doorway, "Ludwik, why have you brought me here?"
Ludwik lifted his gaze, exhaling smoke, and said calmly, "Isn't this place perfect for you? You've got a price to pay for what you've done." His voice was chilling, sinister to the core.
Florence was afraid, indeed. Facing him alone, his every glance sent shivers down her spine. She feigned bravery, tears welling up in her eyes, "Ludwik, what have I done? I've just saved your mother, I don't understand, what price do you want me to pay? I've kept my promise to you. You promised we would start a family together, are you breaking your word now?"
Ludwik sneered, standing up tall and approaching her. Without even a gesture, Florence already felt his icy grip around her neck!
"Ah..."
In the haze of smoke, his cold gaze lightly brushed with a sinister edge, "Would my mother have gotten leukemia without you? Women like you deserve the harshest punishments! Enjoy your stay; your good days are here."
At this point, his words made Florence's face pale. Her breath trembled as she stared at his cold, handsome face, denying vehemently, "I don't understand what you mean. Did my sister say something to you? Ludwik, I didn't...you were the one who found me and asked for my help. Do you and my sister suspect me without any proof?"
Her pitiful defense seemed to Ludwik like another veiled provocation. His eyes darkened, and suddenly, he threw her to the ground, "I've tolerated you for a month. Do I still need proof now? It doesn't matter if you don't admit it. Just admit that you kidnapped Sammy from Elaine and hid him! You think without evidence, you can avoid punishment? What punishment do I want for you? I want you to suffer right now!"
He chuckled, losing his patience, his gaze turning blood-red and cold, then ordered the bodyguard, "She so desperately wants a child, how could I not oblige? Bodyguard, give her a taste of the whip. If she doesn't reveal Sammy's whereabouts by tonight, replace a hobo under a bridge to fulfill Florence's wish!"
As Ludwik stepped away, preparing to leave, Florence's anger made her tremble, "Ludwik, how could you do this to me? Ha, I knew from the start you never planned to give me a child..."
Her dignity shattered, she hadn't expected him to stoop so low, resorting to such cruelty, devoid of humanity. It seemed she was the most loathed existence in his heart, less than nothing. "Don't touch me..."
As the bodyguard grabbed her, her
struggles were futile. She then noticed that the room was empty except for two whips on a sofa, and in a dim corner, a brazier and knives. Though the brazier wasn't lit, it was enough to chill Florence to the bone! Ludwik was even more terrifying than she imagined. He brought her here to torture her, unafraid of the Sheldon family's wrath. Panic filled her chest. She couldn't stay here, what about her mother...how was she managing?
As Ludwik's commanding figure exited the door, Florence followed, desperate to avoid danger, "Ludwik, let me go, and we can talk this through. If you hurt me now, you'll regret it!"
He turned, his eyes bloodshot, "Regret? That word, I'll send it down with you to your grave. Even if you reveal Sammy's whereabouts, I won't spare you. But if you don't, I'll cripple you right now."
Florence saw the approaching bodyguard, fear swelling in her as he brandished a stick. Just then, Ludwik's phone rang- Florence eyed the vibrating device in his pocket, and for a moment, her fear receded, replaced by a determined cold smirk. Ludwik hesitated to answer, but after two more rings, he took the call. Stepping outside, the sky grew dark, a storm brewing, winds howling.
Ludwik answered, "Father, what's the matter?"
On the other end, Jason's voice was steady, showing no emotion, first asking about his mother's surgery, then urgently pressing, "Ludwik,
where have you taken Florencenet
Mrs. Sheldon came to me in tears, showing me something. Hand
Florence over quickly; she's carrying your child, do you understand?!"
Thunder boomed overhead as rain began to pour, soaking Ludwik to the bone. He paused, then scoffed disbelievingly, "Father, whatever lies those two are spinning, you shouldn't believe them."
"The pregnancy test is clear,
stamped by the General Hospital.
Florence is half a month pregnant! Son, you've been involved with that girl; you can't deny it now. This is my grandson, the newest addition to the Lippert family, and this is a
momentous occasion. If anything happens to Florence, it's not just the Sheldons who won't let you off the hook, I won't either. First, take a look at the news. Your actions today were completely out of line, laying a hand on Florence. That's outrageous! My helicopter is about to touch down at the North Hill Mansion. Let her go!"
Jason's words just fizzled out for Ludwik; he didn't catch a single one after that. His mind was stuck in a loop. Florence was pregnant, just over a month along; they had the test results. How could this be?! Ludwik felt like he'd plunged into an ice-cold lake. He pocketed his phone and turned around, his face dark as a storm cloud, fixing his gaze on the mansion's front door- His look was terrifying, cold as the depths.
