Luna's Rejected Vengeful Mate
Luna’s Rejected Vengeful Mate Chapter 70

The Dark Moon pack, California

Blake

I left Elizabeth’s room in a hurry heading to my office where Lucas and Jacob waited for me. The clock was ticking and there was no time to delay.

“Lucas, I’m moving to the apartment we rented because Ace is making his move tomorrow at midnight. You get a few of our men and follow me. We need to put our plan into action. Jacob, you will stay here and make sure no one enters the dungeon. Emma should remain there until I come back. Is that clear? And if anyone asks questions about her, such as Tim, don’t tell him anything. Our stupid friend might try to help her out of there. He is in love with her.”

“Okay, Blake. What about Elisabeth? What if she goes into labour?” Jacob asked.

“My father and her doctor are with her. Notify me immediately if she does and I will take care of it while tracking Ace.”

“Blake, where are you going?”

Fabrizio entered my office. s**t! I left the door half-open and he must have heard the conversation with my men. Preoccupied with my thoughts, I hadn’t noticed his presence.

“Fu.ck, Aries. Where is your sense of perception, wolf?”

“Sorry, Blake. I was thinking of how I would tear that ba.stard’s throat out and didn’t notice Fabrizio arrive,” my wolf apologised. I couldn’t blame Aries. He was also worried about our mate’s safety. Ace was unpredictable.

“Blake?” Fabrizio insisted. “Are Ace and Teresa planning to attack the girls at the motel?” He quivered with anxiety.

“You can’t lie to him, Blake. He needs to know his daughter’s monstrosities.” Aries told me.

“Yes, Fabrizio. But don’t worry. Everything is under control,” I replied, trying to convince myself that it was indeed under control.

“I am going with you,” the older man said and straightened his back, closed his eyes and breathed deeply.

“I don’t think that’s a good idea, Fabrizio. Things will get ugly out there and I don’t want to worry about you as well. Stay here with my boys and wait for my news,” I replied and turned to leave.

“Blake! I must come with you. I won’t be a burden, I promise. I want to see my daughter’s face when she gets caught and spit on her. She is a disgrace to me,” Fabrizio’s hardened voice stopped me. The man was in deep pain, I could tell. But taking him with me was a risk.

“Let’s make a deal,” I turned to him.

“I can’t take you with me because we will shift into our werewolf forms to hunt Ace. But when we catch them, I will instruct Jacob to bring you to us. Is that okay?”

Fabrizio hesitated.

“Fabrizio, I need to have a clear head to lead this mission. With you around, that won’t be possible. Natalia’s and Elisa’s lives will be in danger unless I am efficient enough to guide everyone to do their part.” I felt like talking to a kindergarten baby trying to counter his stubbornness.

“Okay, Blake. But please don’t harm Teresa. Not until I am there. She has to answer for her inexplicable behaviour.” Fabrizio ran his hands nervously through his white hair.

“Don’t worry, Fabrizio. I promise that whatever happens to your daughter you will get to see her first. But I won’t promise she will remain unharmed.” My voice was harsh but I didn’t want to lie to him. He knew that what his daughter had done was beyond reason and deserved punishment.

“I understand, Blake and I will not get in your way. You have my word,” he replied, lowering his head, embarrassed by his daughter’s actions.

I left, got into my car and drove off thinking of Fabrizio and how disappointed and hurt he was with his daughter’s behaviour. I felt sorry for the old guy but there was no way I would let Teresa get away with it.

I arrived at the apartment and left the car in the underground parking lot. Ace knew my car; it would be risky if I left it out in the open. I entered the apartment on the fifth floor and looked outside. It had a clear view of the motel backyard and both Drake’s and Natalia’s rooms. I spent quite some time looking for a place like this. It was perfect to watch everyone’s movements around the motel.

“I am in position. All we have to do now is wait,” I informed everyone through the mind link.

“Great.! I have been monitoring Ace. He won’t be taking part in the mission. He instructed his Beta and his men to kidnap the girls, injecting them with the wolfsbane. Ace will wait for them outside in the car with Teresa. They intend to use a van equipped with beds for Natalia and Elisa. They will strap them down to avoid any possibility of them trying to escape,” Luna Alison said.

“f*****g basta.rds,” Massimo’s and my growls echoed in everyone’s heads including mine.

“The good thing is that Ace asked his men to wear masks and keep them on until they reach the warehouse he arranged on the outskirts of the city. Does that give you any ideas, Blake?” Luna Alison giggled and I realised what she meant immediately.

“Thanks, Luna. Massimo, you and Drake must stay hidden in Natalia’s second room tomorrow. Natalia and Elisa will stay hidden in Drake’s room. There is no reason for them to risk themselves. Once the culprits enter the apartment, they will look for the girls. You two must wait for them and inject them with the wolfsbane the moment they enter the room. Tie them up so as not to escape and gag them up. Then you will put on their masks and carry Natalia and Elisabeth into the van making sure they are unharmed. You will follow Ace to the warehouse and I will trail you with Lucas and my men,” I instructed the two men.

“What if Ace tries to mind-link us, Blake? What will happen then?” my brother asked.

“You can leave that to me, boys. I will handle Ace and his orders. I will notify you and I’ll link you,” Luna Alison replied.

“What about our scents? We need to mask our scents because Ace is not stupid, Blake. The moment we get into that warehouse he will know we are not his men,” Drake insisted.

“Good point, Drake. I will prepare a potion to help you mask your scent and send it to you with Dylan. He will come from the back unnoticed. After Ace’s men are down, take their clothes off and wear them. The potion will help you engulf their scent and Ace won’t realise anything,” Luna Alison said with confidence.

“Great. That’s how we should proceed. Natalia, when the time comes, you and Elisa should move to Drake’s apartment and stay there until further notice. Is that clear?” my Alpha tone was authoritative and I didn’t take no for an answer.

“Yes, Blake,” my wife said obediently and I laughed.

“What’s so funny, Blake?” Natalia seemed annoyed.

“It might be the first and maybe the last time you obey me with no objections, sweetie. I have to cherish the moment,” I teased my mate and heard everyone else laugh.

“Blake!” Natalia protested and then giggled.

“I never said your life would be easy with me,” she teased.

Natalia

We closed the link and I moved to one of the two bedrooms. I needed some time alone to consider the risks of our plan. I didn’t want to do anything to put Elisa’s life at risk. We were so lucky to have Luna Alison on our side. I never shared my fears, but thinking of Elisa taking the wolfsbane even after taking the vials Dylan gave us, was driving me insane. Elisa was a human and the possibility of her getting hurt was more than mine.

I could finally relax and think positively about our plan’s development.

“I will never allow anyone to harm you, or Elisa,” Leia clarified.

“I know, Leia, but let’s not forget that shifting is not an option for you now. Risking our pup’s life is not negotiable. Don’t you agree?” I was calm but firm.

“Yes, you are right, Natalia. It’s best that way. Since Luna Alison can guide us, let’s avoid anything risky. We will stick to Blake’s plan. Everything will be fine,” my wolf replied.

I returned to the room and found Drake sitting on the sofa.

“Where’s Massimo and Elisa?” I took an apple from the fruit basket and sliced it into pieces. I was hungry again.

“They are in the bedroom. Massimo thought Elisa needed to rest,” Drake replied, his head lowered, not looking at me.

“Drake, what’s wrong?” I knew the answer but wanted to hear it from him.

“It’s all my fault, Natalia. If I wasn’t so stupid and greedy, we wouldn’t be doing this today and I would be with my wife now. My baby might be born without me being there for my wife,” he choked and coughed to clear his throat.

I sat next to him and kept quiet. He needed to process his wrongdoings and now was the perfect time to do it. Before entering the final stage of our plan. He should clear his mind of all negative thoughts and concentrate on his mission.

“All I can say is that I am sorry, Natalia. I am sorry for all the pain I have caused you and everyone else with my stupid egotistic actions. I will do anything in my power to protect you and Elisa from Ace. Even if it means losing my life, I will do it to atone for my deeds,” he whispered.

“Drake, don’t talk like that. No one is going to die. Our plan is perfect and you mustn’t forget that we can predict Ace’s moves thanks to Luna Alison and her help. You will soon be back with my sister and your baby boy. It’s good to see that you have realised your mistakes, Drake. You have finally grown into a responsible man. I am happy for you and my sister. As for the past, let bygones be bygones,” I replied, patting him on the shoulder.

He gave me a sad smile and lowered his head again.

I walked back into the room to give him some privacy. He needed time to process his thoughts.

When it was time for dinner, Elisa and I headed to the dining room. Passing the reception we saw Teresa behind the computer. She gave us a look full of hatred but we ignored her and moved on.

“Good. We will avoid food poisoning tonight,” Elisa whispered, squeezing my hand. I nodded and we walked to the dining room. We ate in silence and requested a double portion for later from Tia. The motel owner smiled widely and teased us about our appetites and gaining weight after eating so much.

On our way back to our room, Elisa picked up the phone and pretended to be talking to Massimo. She even mentioned his name a few times. I watched Teresa from the corner of my eye. She paled and crumpled the papers she held in her hands into a shapeless mass, throwing them in the bin with rage.

“You truly intend to give the woman a heart attack,” I teased Elisa as soon as we entered our apartment.

“It’s the least I intend to do to her,” Elisa gritted her teeth, placing the food on the living room table and huffed angrily sitting next to Massimo.

He gave me a questioning look and I told him what Elisa did. I saw pride in his eyes and that filled my heart with joy. Elisa was a good match for Massimo. From the little I knew about him, he was an arrogant man and Elisa had transformed him into a caring person. Who said that werewolves needed werewolves as mates to be happy? Stupid superstitions; those two were going to make a great team.

“Baby, there’s no need to provoke Teresa and lose your temper doing it. Be patient until tomorrow. Everything will go back to normal and the culprits will get the punishment they deserve,” Massimo hugged my friend tenderly.

“I know, Massimo, but I can’t stop thinking about how this whole thing will affect Fabrizio. He has been like a father to me and Natalia for so many years and now we are about to punish his daughter for trying to harm us. I am so furious with that bit.ch. She didn’t consider her father’s feelings before doing so many gruesome things. How will Fabrizio react when it’s time for her punishment? Will he blame us for it? Let’s not forget that Teresa is his only child,” Elisa said, frustrated.

Massimo and I exchanged glances knowing how right Elisa was. Since we left the Dark Moon pack, we hadn’t called Fabrizio. He must have been worried about us. We knew he opposed Teresa’s doings, but he was her father.

How would he react to the news of his daughter’s punishment? Would he remain uninvolved, or would he try to save his daughter from everyone’s wrath, forgetting the anger and disappointment he felt towards his daughter’s actions?
