Married On Paper To The Billionaire
Chapter 55: Drama! Drama!! Drama!!!

"Are you sure he's going to go along with this?" Lillian asked fearfully.

"He better or we'll air him out and let the world know that he's a serial rapist," Kane replied confidently.

"But he's Crystabels' father. We can't do that to him."

"Would you rather he holds you hostage in a marriage that has already ended? He doesn't want you any more than you want him. He's only with you for his own benefit." "I know but he could still use those explicit photos against me."

"What explicit photos?"

"What do you mean? Didn't Emilia tell you about them?"

"No. She only said Samuel was blackmailing you but she didn't specify what the blackmail was about."

"Oh..."

"Lillian? What is it? What's in the photos you mentioned?"

She began to fidget in her seat. "I better get going. I'm meeting Mother at the city sports center and the other organizers of the Women's Wellness Outreach gala."

"I don't care if you're meeting with the governor and his ancestors, but if you don't answer my question, you're not leaving my office. What are the explicit photos about?" "Ugh, give it a rest, Kane! Why must you know?"

"Because I can't help you if I don't even know what Samuel has over you."

"Fine. They're photos of me and some of my lovers."

"What?"

"Samuel has had someone following me for quite some time now and they've taken photos of me in different stages of undress, doing things that shouldn't be seen by strangers." "Good Lord, Lillian. Who were you with and where?"

"Different people in different places."

"Be specific!"

"I was with Joy at the Aspen cabin, Raina at the Ritz Carlton in New York, Rose and Felicia in my Calabasas condo, Veronica in - "

"Wait, wait, wait... you were messing with multiple lesbian lovers? What is wrong with you?"

"Don't judge me! You asked me a question and I answered."

"But after that near exposure from Kendra, you promised never to do that again. You promised Mother and me."

"Please, stop sounding horrified as if I killed someone. You of all people know that I'm into women, not men. You were there when Mother forced Samuel on me. I never wanted to be married to him. I never wanted to be married, Period!" "Then why didn't you leave? Why didn't you end things with Samuel when you knew you weren't happy with him? Wouldn't that be better than sneaking around the country, having sex with every female human being that crossed your path?" "Are you listening to yourself? Leave him and say what to Mother? What would have been my explanation to her? You know how strict she is and how vindictive she gets when anyone goes against her. I never wanted that kind of heat." "Well, see where that got you. Look at what we have to deal with now."

"I'm sorry that my indiscretions have inconvenienced you or soiled your perfect reputation, but don't worry about it. I'll handle it by myself."

She got up to leave but Kane stopped her. "Come on, Lilly. Calm down."

"Don't call me that," she snapped but sat down anyway.

"Contrary to what you think, I don't care about my reputation or any stupid thing like that. I'm more concerned about you."

"Oh, well..."

"I can only imagine how hard it must have been for you to suppress who you are just to live the life Mother chose for you," Kane said softly. "and I apologise for the role I played in that. I simply thought it was a phase back then." Lillian teared up and nodded slowly. "I know. I wasn't mad at you, I'm rather disappointed in myself for letting things get out of hand and getting careless."

"Don't worry about it, we will get through this and when it's all over, you will have an important conversation with Mother."

"Oh, dear!"

"You must. You're too old to still be afraid of her. What will she do now? Disown you? You're already your own woman. You don't need Mother's approval anymore." She sniffled and nodded again. "You're probably right. Thank you for having my back, Kane. For real."

He got to his feet and walked around the desk to meet her. She too stood up and they embraced each other tightly, leading to another round of tears from Lillian.

"Who are you?"

"It's Reggie."

"Aren't you supposed to be in jail?"

"I'm out and I need money to restart my life."

"What has that got to do with me? Now, get lost and never come back here again because if you do, I'll make you disappear permanently."

The podcast host sighed deeply. "Those are some strong words coming from Mr Beaumont in that audio recording. How do you feel about that?"

"How else? I feel scared for my life, man," said Reggie. "All I asked was for him to help me get back on my feet. That was the deal he had with my sister before she died."

"Is that so?"

"Yeah. That was one of the ways that that rich bully got her to drop the lawsuit against him for wrongly accusing her of shooting his wife. She was the breadwinner of our family, you know." "Do you have a copy of the agreement your sister signed with Kane Beaumont?"

"Actually, no. Our mother had it with her but she died recently and it might interest you that this same Beaumont dude has his fingerprint all over that too."

"Wait, are you alleging that Kane Beaumont has something to do with your mother's death?"

"Best believe it, bruv. That dude is the devil himself. He's satan in human form!"

"Wow... these are some strong allegations, Reggie."

"I know what I'm saying! I just want to put the word out that if anything happens to me, y'all better hold Kane Beaumont and his evil family responsible."

"The podcast has gone viral. You didn't tell me you met with Reggie Banks."

"We didn't exactly meet. I found him waiting outside our gates sometime last week. Mind you, that audio tape was doctored to make it seem as if he was innocently asking for help." "Wasn't he?"

"No. It was a shakedown. He came to blackmail me with the same nonsense that Kendra used to buy her way out of jail back then."

"He was threatening to leak our family secrets?"

Kane smiled at Emilia. "I like how you said our family secrets. And yes, that was what he was trying to do. I wasn't going to negotiate with a druggie who was planning to make me his personal ATM." "You have a point there. But did you threaten to make him disappear permanently or was that part of the audio recording doctored too?"

He sighed. "Yes, I said that but it was an empty threat."

"The world won't see it that way. You're a powerful wealthy man and he is a homeless ex-convict. That doesn't look good at all."

"Well, that's too bad. He can continue his media tour all he wants, but he won't get a dime from me. I'm tired of the unending blackmail."

Harry cleared his throat as he came to join them in the dining room. "There's a package in the mail for you, sir," he said and handed the delivery to his boss.

"Are we back to this again?" Kane joked.

"Could be from Reggie," said Emilia.

"Thanks, Harry," said Kane, dismissing the butler and opening the package immediately.

"What's that?"

"Looks like a contract booklet of some sort," he said, assessing the sheets of paper which were held together with plastic spiral binding.

"It looks like a manuscript," Emilia commented as Kane began to flip the pages and read the content.

"What the hell?"

"What is it?"

"This is from Serena. It's an excerpt from her book and she has dedicated a chapter to talking about Lillian and Samuel. There is some heavy stuff in here." "Let me see it."

Kane handed the manuscript to Emilia and she gasped when she began to read the bombshell that Serena had laid out in the book.

"This is crazy! How did she manage to put this together? Wasn't she in isolation?"

"We can't seem to catch a break, can we?" Kane groaned. "It's from one drama to another. It's exhausting at this point."

"We should have reached out to the publishers as we initially planned, but I was so sure she would drop the idea of writing the book after our last visit to her." "Perhaps we need to visit her again. I'm sure every chapter would be dedicated to every member of the Beaumont family, including in-laws."

"Oh, no!"

"What?"

"She knew about Chloe and Samuel."

"What! How?"

"It's a long story but she was the one who gave me the hint first. She's going to include that in the book."

"I guess we both know what to do then. Serena must never write that book!"
