My Mate Is A Witch -
Chapter 59
‘How about I leave without telling anyone and would be back before anyone would realize?’ She thought and after changing the clothes. She teleported to her uncle’s suite, which he had mentioned in the message.
“Aaahhh!!” Charlotte screamed in horror, seeing Caroline near her all of a sudden. Caroline laughed, seeing her in this way. The next thing she knew that Charlotte hit her angrily. “Ahhhhh!!”
“Don’t hit my favorite daughter,” Oliver said, seeing Charlotte hitting Caroline while she was just laughing to tease her younger cousin more.
“Yeah! FAVORITE.” Charlotte mumbled, making a face.
“Uncle Oliiii…” Caroline quickly ran near her uncle and hugged him. Oliver lifted her a little and kissed her ear. Charlotte just looked at them, eating chips. She was jealous of her cousin a little because she was everyone’s favorite because she was the first baby in the house, and she always used to take the limelight.
“Something is burning, isn’t it, Uncle?” Caroline joked on which Charlotte stuck her tongue and threw chips at her.
“Come, have a sit,” Oliver said, showing her the couch. She had barely sat when Artemis’s mind linked her. She lied to him, knowing that he couldn’t smell her lie through the mind link. She thought of confessing her identity after confessing her to him.
“Charlotte told me about your little adventure in Spain and all the things that happened after that,” Oliver said, on which Caroline looked at her cousin, hoping that she wouldn’t have explained the romantic part of her story. Though she didn’t go through the detail, even with Charlotte yes, she did share that they make out passionately from time to time.
“I just want to ask one important question, Caro. Do you love him? Or whatever this is…. you took this decision in a hurry just because he is your mate. Okay, fine, I agree that Artemis is a good person, but why… why did you mark him and let him mark you in a flash? Did he keep you at gunpoint?”
“Uncleee,” Caroline exclaimed at her uncle’s imagination.
“Then? Did he threaten you, or are you pregnant already? Because of which, you married him in a flash, just like your mother got married to your father in a flash?”
“Goddd!! Nooooo.” Caroline exclaimed while Charlotte laughed at her father’s imagination power. “Artemis didn’t force me or emotionally blackmail me. Neither did he keep me at gunpoint. And I’m NOT pregnant because I’m on my period.”
“I.. I love him, Uncle.” She admitted. “I know; I just ran out of one relationship to heal myself and got involved in another one, but… that’s the truth of my life. It was not that I was looking for any new relationship, but Artemis came into my life unannounced, and he… he did everything because which any girl would fall in love with him. I know Mom didn’t fall in love with anyone else except dad even after five years of their separation. That’s because she never gave a chance to anyone else, maybe because she was occupied with fulfilling other responsibilities, maybe because someone didn’t try so hard like Artemis, or maybe she always hoped, a tiny part of her always hoped for dad to return back to her. But neither I’m mom nor Mark is dad, so I gave Artemis a chance, a chance for fifteen days. And I didn’t realize it then, but the truth is that I had started falling for him in those days; otherwise, I wouldn’t have taken this step all of a sudden.” Caroline finally took a long breath after saying all this in one go before her uncle would have imagined anything else.
“Sooo… when are you planning to tell your parents about it?” Oliver asked, feeling satisfied that the feelings of both children was the same. In short, they were sailing on the same boat.
“Soon.”
“How soon?” Oliver asked strictly. “See, Caro, I won’t deceive my sister and brother-in-law for long. So, tell me, how soon are you going to tell them about Artemis and you? On the top, why are you hiding your own identity from the person you love? Huh?”
“I know you always wanted someone to accept just YOU, not because of your dad’s name. And I can see that happening. So, tell him the truth before things start getting complicated, before you two.”
“I will, Uncle. I will.” Caroline nodded her head.
“Two weeks then. In two weeks, you won’t tell Brandon and Sophie about you two, then I will. And trust me, Caro. They will definitely not like this news from me, so be upfront and inform them as soon as possible.” Oliver said in a serious tone as a guardian while Charlotte just kept eating chips, watching the show.
“Dadddd, this is going to be the first wedding of this generation, isn’t it?” She asked, getting excited with the idea of weddings and shopping and especially FOOD.
“Yes!! It looks like yesterday when I reached the hospital and saw her.” Oliver said, looking at Caroline. “I was then in college when she was born. Now, she is all grown up woman, even marked by her mate.” Oliver laughed and wiped the tears from the corner of his eyes. He could only imagine how hard it would be for Brandon to let go of his first and precious daughter finally.
“So, who’s getting married next? Scarlet or me? Before Caro is twenty-five, Scar is twenty-four, and I’m twenty-three.” Charlotte asked, licking the packet of chips.
“You need to grow up first before getting married,” Oliver said, snatching the packet. “And let the author decide who will get married next because you all cousins are seventeen in number,” he added, rolling his eyes.
Caroline chuckled at hearing that. After that, they discussed other things.
