My Mate Is An Omega -
My Mate Is A Virgin Chapter 20
Jasper POV
"Thank you, Queen Nymeia." I bowed my head at the older woman. When I finally looked into her eyes, her aura made me stiffen. Damn, she was even more intimidating than her daughter.
"Don't lower your head before anyone, not even me." I swear her voice was strong enough to make the trees shake. "I know you were used to having superiors back at your pack, but you will become king soon. Lose that old habit. It won't make you look good in front of the clan." "Of course. I apologize, Queen-"
"Drop the formalities as well." I swallowed dry. Did she only speak through orders? "It would be best if you just call me mother."
I widened my eyes, completely frozen. Mother?! It was probably less of a big deal than it seemed, but I had never addressed anyone that way in my entire life. The closest parental figure I had was Alpha Dario, but even so, I never thought of calling him Dad. "Take it easy, Mom." Andromeda soon came to my rescue, probably realizing I didn't know what to say. She laced her fingers with mine, offering me the emotional support I didn't realize I needed. "Wolves have different customs. Jasper still has to get used to our ways."
The Queen glared at her for a moment before turning back to me. "I suppose that is true. Has my daughter given you too much trouble?"
"Not at all, Q-" I stuttered. "...Mother." Okay, saying it out loud, it didn't sound as bad as I thought it would. I glanced at my mate, who was frowning at her birthgiver. I squeezed her hand lightly to soothe her. "She behaved like an angel."
"I replace that very hard to believe." I swear I could see the hint of a smile on her face as she turned around to greet the guard, leaving her daughter utterly furious. "Thank you for keeping an eye on Princess Andromeda, Wade. Before you have your well-deserved reunion with your family, I have one last request for you. Help the servants carry Prince Jasper's belongings to my daughter's room, will you?"
I watched in delight Tigger's muscles tightening as he fought the urge to clench his fists. "Right away, my Queen." He bowed at her before joining the other lynxes who had already come to unload the car. I kept staring at him until he disappeared into the castle; I could tell he really wanted to scowl at me, but he surely knew it wouldn't be wise to disrespect his future King in front of Her Majesty.
"Andromeda." The Queen's sten voice pulled me from my revengeful thoughts. "Can I trust you to show Prince Jasper around?"
"Yes, mother," my mate promptly replied.
"Good. I would like the two of you to meet us in the dining room in a couple of hours. A feast will be hosted in celebration of the future King's arrival."
My stomach turned. Was I supposed to dine with the royals so soon? I could barely use a fork, and I definitely wouldn't know how to hold a knife if I hadn't worked as a butcher for years. I surely wouldn't be able to tell the difference between a soup spoon and a dessert spoon. Weren't there like five kinds of forks as well? Not to mention that some of them had two or three tines instead of the usual four, and- Wait. Did she say they would be toasting for me?!
"We will be there punctually," my mate replied on my behalf once again, as I tried my best to hide my nervousness. As her diamonds fell on me, I could feel it quickly wash away. "Come on, my prince. Let's get you acquainted with your new home." As soon as we excused ourselves, Andromeda locked our arms together and dragged me towards the entrance of the castle, more excited than I had ever seen her. The outside of the structure looked quite powerful and intimidating, but the luxurious inside completely took my breath away.
The white calacatta marble floors were so clean and shiny I could see my reflection on the tiles. Right as we passed through the door, we walked underneath a majestic double stairway with black wrought iron handrails. Everything, from the tall snowy walls to the deep blue rugs and patterns decorating the floor, followed the same white-and-navy color scheme. Big paintings in silver frames hung from the walls, illustrating men and women dressed in royal regalia - probably past Kings and Queens of Snow Pelt Clan. Would my own portrait be among them someday?
As my princess led me through a never ending maze of hallways, my eyes scoured through the place in awe. The multiple servants we came across would shyly lift their heads to glance at me with curiosity, but they always looked away as soon as we made eye contact. It would certainly take me some time to get used to all of this.
After a ten-minute walk, we eventually climbed one of the many stairways until we reached the third floor. At the end of the corridor, there were white double doors. Andromeda beamed at me before finally pushing the doors open to reveal a whole new world behind them.
"Aaaaand this is my room! Well, it'll be our room now, since we're sharing. What do you think?" She turned to me with expectation, but I couldn't replace my voice. As I took everything in, I was speechless.
It was a very spacious split-level bedroom. Unlike the rest of the castle, the Princess' Chambers had pietra gray marble flooring and cloudy gray walls with details in gold. The king-sized bed, which stood between two tall pillars, was even larger than my old one. It was made with a fancy silver bed set, and decorated with five satin cushions aside from the two giant pillows. There was a big, curved television hanging on the wall in front of it.
Further down the back, there was a living space on the elevated part of the room with two large gray velvet sofas placed right next to huge floor-to-ceiling windows. The area was decorated with three beautiful marble queens inside of white vases, sitting on top of golden pedestals. And if it wasn't enough, there was a second television, even bigger than the other one.
I couldn't help but remember Wade's remark about the Gamma suite on the day Andromeda moved in. How did she even adjust to live there when she was used to this?
"Do you not like it?" Andromeda's face fell as she sat on the bed. "You can change it if it will help you feel more at home, though we will be moving into the Queen's Chambers soon."
"No, that's not it. It's astounding, really," I assured her, moving towards her. "It's just...too grand for my mongrel complex, honestly."
I could see relief on her face as she smiled sweetly, wrapping her arms around my neck to pull me closer to her. I had to place my hands on the bed for support as I stared deeply into her eyes. "Well, like my mother said, you're gonna have to lose your old habits. This is your life now, my prince..." She moved closer. Her hot breath against my lips was driving me crazy. "And I will teach you to make the most out of it."
When my mate's lips finally touched mine, I groaned in delight. As I relished her delicious taste, the world around me seemed to disappear along with my insecurities. I had been feeling so small from the moment I walked into this huge castle, but with her by my side, it was impossible not to feel special. I still couldn't understand what I had done to deserve her.
Her back pressed against the mattress as I leaned forward, deepening our kiss. I was ready to climb on top of her, but before I could, she surprised me. She used her legs to sweep me off my feet - quite literally - and switch our positions. My heart was racing as she pinned me onto the bed, her malicious smile further exciting me. The exhaustion from earlier had been completely forgotten; my hard member was proof that I was ready for yet another round.
Or I would be, if we hadn't been interrupted by a loud knock on the door.
Andromeda pulled away with a frown, while I took the opportunity to collect my breath. "Who could it be now? I thought the servants were done bringing your boxes upstairs." With an annoyed grunt, she lifted herself off me and back up onto her feet before stomping towards the door. As soon as she opened it, I could feel her heavy emotions become lighter.
Standing right outside of our room was a woman who looked to be in her early twenties. She was wearing a black sports bra and leggings, which left a few battle scars exposed along her dark umber skin. Judging by her tall, well-defined build, I had a feeling she was part of the huntresses team. Her long, dark chocolate hair was styled in boxer braids, falling over her broad shoulders. Her facial features were as delicate and immaculate as any other cat's, but also intimidating - although definitely less than Andromeda. Actually, seeing them side by side, I couldn't help but notice they were complete opposites on the outside. Come to think about it, this stranger kind of reminded me of Tigger.
"Adriana!" My mate screamed, launching herself at the other woman who quickly returned her hug.
"Hey, sis. I missed you!" The woman's obsidian eyes glistened as she pulled away to hold Dree at arm's length. "You stink of wolf though." She crinkled her nose playfully, and I immediately stiffened. Not a second later, she seemed to notice me. Her eyes immediately grew wide. "Oh, s**t! I mean, my apologies, my Prince. I..."
My princess laughed as she turned back to me, gesturing for her friend to walk in. "Don't worry, I'm sure he's not offended. By the way, Jasper, this is Adriana. Aside from being my best friend, she's the best huntress in our team, and of course, my right hand." She glanced at her friend again. "Drina, this is Jasper Stray, my mate and the future King of Snow Pelt." She smiled proudly.
"It's a pleasure to meet you, my Prince." The woman immediately dropped to one knee, bowing her head to me. "About what I said..."
"Like Princess Andromeda said, don't worry about it," I insisted, finally catching her attention. "You seem to be fairly close to the future Queen, so... Can I please ask you to just call me Jasper? That's what I've been my whole life." "Uh... Yeah, sure." Despite her confusion, she slowly rose back to her feet. "So, Jasper... Not the best first impression, huh?"
"Meh, it's fine. Wolves are quite smelly anyway." I shrugged, playing along. "Especially compared to cats. You know, we don't take as many showers per day as you do. But I suppose we also don't vomit hairballs over the carpet." "Wow. That's kinda speciesist."
"Touché." I smirked.
The huntress shifted her gaze between me and my mate before smiling. "Oh, he's cool. I like him already. All royal cats act like they have sticks up their butts. It'll be nice to have a funny king for a change." "Drina!" My mate whisper-yelled. "When I'm Queen, you can speak gibberish as much as you like, but until then, don't lose your filter! My mom won't be pleased if she sees you acting like this."
"My apologies, my princess." She rolled her eyes, making Dree shake her head in disapprovement. "Anyway, just wanted to check up on my girl. I didn't mean to...interrupt anything."
"You and your perfect timing." The princess grunted. "Are you going back to training?"
"Nah, we're done for the day. I just need to close the gym."
"Are the rest of the girls there?"
"They should be."
I froze when Andromeda suddenly turned to me with puppy eyes. I guess she was learning some of my tricks. "How about we introduce you to the team before dinner? It might help you become more acquainted with my family." "Sounds good," I replied, swallowing my nervousness. I mean, I was just the wolf among the cats. What could go wrong?
