One Girl Two Mates
Chapter 25

DIEGO POV

I watched as Rafael roared, slamming his fists into the wood of his desk.

"Where is she?" His words broke into a sob.

"The witches are on their way, we will replace her." I tried to reassure him by placing my hand on his shoulder. He turned abruptly, wrapping his arms around me and burying his face into my shoulder.

"I failed her." His hands clutched my shirt.

"Shh, shh, we will replace her." I ran my fingers through his hair and gently rocked him. We stayed like this for a long while until we heard someone clearing their throat. We both looked up to see Santiago, Rafael's Beta, standing in his office doorway. "Alpha, the witches are here." The words barely left his lips before Edith pushed her way around him.

"I told her it was a bad idea." She snapped at us. Marjorie followed behind her.

"We will replace her, Alphas, I promise." Marjorie declared with sincerity. I nodded at her, grateful for them both.

"How do we replace her?" Rafael asked in a hoarse voice.

"As an Astral witch I have the ability to travel through realms, that's how I will replace your Luna." Marjorie declared.

"How do you know you can replace her that way? How long will it take?" I asked her, hope rising in my chest.

"There are two realms on Earth. There is the Earthly realm for the living and then there is the Astral realm. The Astral realm is where spirits, both living and deceased, reside. Astral witches are the only people that can access this realm." She explained to us. "How can someone who's alive be in that realm? Aren't our spirits in this realm?" Rafael asked.

"Your spirits are in both realms, in a sense. In the Astral realm it's more like an imprint or an aura. If you were deceased and hadn't passed into the afterlife, your spirit would be more tangible." Rafael and I nodded, both deep in thought.

"As for how long it will take I'm not sure, it depends on how far away she is." She gave us a half smile.

"Okay, what do you need?" Rafael asked, determination thick in his voice.

"We have to wait until the sun sets, at night is the only time you can access the Astral realm." Rafael's hand clenched at Marjorie's words. I know he's anxious to have her back with us.

"She will be okay." I murmured as I stroked his back. He relaxed into my caress slightly, but I could still feel the tension within him. He wouldn't be fully relaxed until our Lili was home safe.

"So all we can do is wait?" He asked in a broken voice.

"Yes." Marjorie confirmed. I watched as Edith stepped forward, sliding her hand into Marjorie's and gave it a gentle squeeze. A small smile graced Marjorie's lips and I briefly wondered if there was more than friendship between them. MARJORIE POV

"Hey." I turned to see Edith standing behind me in the garden. I had just finished setting up my projection circle.

"Hey." Was all I could think to say. She looked beautiful even in the most basic of clothing. Right now she was wearing a graphic black tank top, I believe it was some band logo. With her signature black ripped skinny jeans and combat boots. I watched as she slowly walked towards me. Her deep brown eyes that were smudged with black eyeliner were filled with worry. I reached out for her, but thought better of it, letting my hand fall back to my side. She surprised me by closing the distance between us, locking her lips with mine. I tried resisting her, but it was no use. I'd loved her since the first day I laid eyes on her. I let my arms wrap around her tightly, refusing to let her go.

"Marjorie I'm so scared." She mumbled against my lips.

"Shh now, pet, I will be okay." I said against her cheek as I planted kisses on her soft flesh. She whimpered at the mention of the nickname I used to call her. "B-but the last time you entered the realm I almost lost you." She hiccuped, grasping the fabric of my white dress.

"You won't lose me, I promise." I placed my hand under her cheek, tilting her head up. Her eyeliner caused little black rivers to run down her face. Her bottom lip quivered as she gazed into my eyes. I pressed my lips to hers once more. It started off sweet and slow, but slowly built to wildly passionate. We poured all of our love for each other into this kiss. My fingers tangled into her purple tresses, I ate up her moans and gasps. My hand slipped down her back, stopping at the dip right above her round bottom. We broke apart when we heard someone clear their throat. Edith's face turned a lovely shade of pink when she realized Rafael and Diego caught us.

"Are you blushing?" Rafael teased Edith.

"No, you mangy mutt!" She snapped, violenting wiping away her tears.

"Bitchy a*s witch." Rafael grumbled, causing Edith to glare at him. She attempted to pull away from me, but I refused to let her escape. She gazed up at me with questioning eyes and I gave her a quick peck on her lips.

"I will come back to you and once this is all over maybe we can go somewhere. I know how much you love the ocean." I watched her smile as I stroked her cheek.

"Okay." She replied, just barely above a whisper.

"Well this is lovely, but I want my mate back." Rafael said loudly, clapping his hands together.

"Right." I nodded, finally releasing Edith. I stepped back into my white circle that was made up of salt and white rose petals. It formed a large pentagram, at each point sat a tall white candle. I sat in the very center, taking relaxing breaths.

"No matter what, you do not enter this circle." I stared them all in the eye individually. My eyes lingered on Edith until she nodded slowly. I closed my eyes, letting them roll back until they switched to my Astral eyes. Astral witches have double vision, two sets of eyes on one eye ball. I've been told several times that it's quite creepy. I refocused my train of thought and began chanting the incantation.

"Of spirit, of water, of fire, of earth, of air, I call to thee." To me this sounds like normal French, to others it sounds like hundreds of voices coming out of me and overlapping into one.

"Create the divide and let me see." I chant this over and over. Feeling my body slowly start to levitate. With my Astral eyes I watched as the Earthly realm slowly faded away. The Astral realm is similar to the Earthly realm, except everything is hazy like black and white film. Living spirits appear in all different vibrant colors. Diego is silver, Rafael is gold, and my Edith is blue, my Astral form is purple. While in my Astral form I slowly step away from my physical body. I watched as a few deceased souls lingered in the area. Deceased souls are a pale white color, like a typical ghost you'd see on television. I took a few more deep, calming breaths, focusing on Lili. I listened intently to the hum of voices in the Astral realm. Letting their whispers lead my way. I couldn't feel Lili's aura which concerned me and raised my suspicions. I did, however, feel Kane's aura, the raging fire that pulsed inside of him. I also felt his overwhelming sadness that he kept buried deep inside. I took one last look around the garden before I let my Astral self levitate above the ground. I pushed forward, moving faster than a human could while running. I followed the direction that Kane's aura thrummed from, hoping that Lili was also there. I watched as the trees flew by me, the surroundings slowly changing. I wasn't surprised to see that Kane wasn't very far from Rafael's pack house. I slowed down when I came to what appeared to be a camp site. I moved quickly around the makeshift tents. I wasn't sure what color Lili's aura would be, but I would know it once I saw it. My eyebrows furrowed when I noticed a tent with a salt ring around it. I hesitantly approached it, if they were hiding Lili somewhere it would definitely be here. But what if it's a diversion? What if she's actually somewhere else? I needed to make sure she was here, I had to be one hundred percent positive. I let my Astral self morph through the tarp material, popping my ghostly head into the tent. A sad smile graced my lips when I saw Lili laying on the small, uncomfortable bed. Besides the fear in her eyes and the tears streaming down her face, she looked unharmed. I still couldn't see her aura which made me suspect they had another witch involved. When I heard the rustling of the tent opening I raised my head. My blood ran cold throughout my body, I felt frozen in the spot. I was so terrified I felt my Astral self fly backwards and snap back into my body. Once I was in my physical body I fell onto the earth, immediately rolling over and emptying out my stomach.

"Marjorie!" Edith shrieked, running towards me and gathering me into her arms.

"Baby, talk to me, please." She sobbed as I laid across her lap.

"I saw her." I gasped, my throat feeling dry.

"Liliana?" Rafael asked, kneeling somewhere in the grass next to me.

"Yes." My eyes locked on Edith's, I knew she could sense my fear.

"What happened?" She asked, cupping my jaw.

"She's helping them." I croaked out.

"Who?" Diego questioned. I felt Edith tense up, fear clear on her face. "My mother."
