Chapter 305

Lilian was already in the emergency room. Everyone was waiting outside. Cynthia leaned against the hallway wall, feeling cold all over.

Jonathan was right next to her. When she came out, she was still wearing her bridesmaid dress, which was now stained with blood. Jonathan took off his jacket and draped it over Cynthia's shoulders.

Filip was sitting on the bench. He was staring blankly at his blood-covered hands, lost in thought.

Soon, the door to the emergency room opened, and a nurse came out with a serious expression. "Where are Lilian's family members?"

Filip didn't react at first. It wasn't until the nurse asked again that he snapped to attention and quickly stood up. "I am. I'm her husband"

The nurse said. The condition is critical. Although the gunshot didn't directly hit her heart, it injured other organs, and due to excessive blood loss, the baby has already been deprived of oxygen for some time. She must give birth immediately." Everyone was shocked. Filip exclaimed, "How can she give birth in this situation?"

The nurse's voice was serious. "There are indeed risks involved. Given the patient's condition, she definitely cannot give birth naturally and will require a cesarean section. However, performing surgeries on both sides simultaneously poses a significant risk." The nurse took out the critical condition notice and said, "Mr. Vites, we will do our best."

As Filip signed, his fingers were trembling. Filip's feelings were complicated. Although he was filled with hatred for her now -resentful for deceiving him, for drugging him, and for her schemes-there was still a lingering confusion within him.

Yet in the past, he had genuinely given his heart to her. When he abandoned everything to go to Amiroca with her, Filip had envisioned a future where they would grow old together, carving out a life for her and ensuring her happiness. After Lillian became pregnant, he dreamed every day of a happy life as a family of three. Three years ago, he would ha

never imagined that such a day would come.

Even though he hated her deeply and sometimes wished she'd disappear forever, when Lilian was really close to death, Filip suddenly felt scared. He didn't want Lilian to die.

Not only because Lillian was carrying his child, but also because she was the only person in the world who had ever called him the best and most outstanding man. Her past praise, admiration, and dependence on him had been a shining highlight in his life.

Even though he later realized that all of that had been a lie, the satisfaction and pride she once brought him were genuine. Only in front of Lillian did he feel like a truly needed man.

Those had been the mental nourishment he relied on for the past few years. If Lillian were truly gote, he would likely feel an overwhelming sense of loneliness, he thought.

In the midst of his chaotic thoughts, a red light started flashing above the emergency room door. It was an extremely dangerous signal. The same nurse rushed out again

"The patient is experiencing severe blood loss, and we're running low on blood in the bank. The patient has AB negative blood type, and we're coordinating with other hospitals, but it may still not be enough."

She turned to Filip and asked, "Generally, people with this blood type have mutual aid groups. Can you help replace someone with the same blood type for the patient?"

Chapter 303

Because of the rarity of this blood type, individuals with rare blood types will typically establish mutual aid groups for those with the same blood type. If someone in the group has an emergency, the nearest members are expected to help out voluntarily Cynthia stepped up and said, "I have the same blood type. I can donate blood to her."

Cynthia and Lilian knew they had the same blood type. They discovered it when they went to donate blood together in high school. The staff even remarked how amazing their bond was, given the rarity of the coincidence.

They also said it was wonderful that the two were friends. In future emergencies, they could help each other out.

Back then, Cynthia jokingly said, "We're not just friends; we're each other's emergency kits."

Lilian was very pleased and said, "Maybe it's destiny, Cynthia. We're meant to be bonded.

Cynthia had just been joking at the time. She never imagined that such a day would actually come.

As Cynthia was about to go in, Jonathan grabbed her arm. "I can quickly replace someone with the same blood type. You don't need to donate yours."

Cynthia turned to Jonathan and reassured him, "Don't worry, I know what I'm doing. It's just for the emergency

Seeing Cynthia went inside. Jonathan started making phone calls. Before long, anyone with that blood type from Roncrity rushed to Peace Hospital.

Cynthia had her blood drawn for testing, and it confirmed that her blood type was the same. She was assigned to lie on a hospital bed to donate blood. Next to her, Lillian was undergoing surgery.

She was undergoing two surgeries at the same time: one to remove the bullet from her chest and the other for a cesarean section. She was already very weak.

Now, with general anesthesia posing a high risk of her not waking up, the doctors opted for local anesthesia instead. Lillian's mind was fully aware and conscious during the procedures.

Even though she'd been numbed, Lilian could still feel the intense pain all over her body. Her chest hurt, her stomach hurt, everything hurt.

She didn't have the strength to move, couldn't even see clearly, but she was fully aware of what was happening.

She had just heard the doctor say that her amniotic fluid had long since ruptured, and the baby inside her was severely deprived of oxygen. This was why they had to proceed with the cesarean section. Even though her whole body was in severe pain, and she felt too weak to speak coherently, and even though she thought she was on the brink of death, her primary concern was still for the baby in her womb. The baby... how's my baby..."

Lilian murmured, her voice so faint it sounded like a whisper.

The doctors and nurses were frantically working to stop her bleeding and couldn't possibly answer her question.

Cynthia heard it clearly while having her blood drawn.

The nurse said, "Ma Jones, please wait here for a moment. We have already contacted various hospitals, and the blood bags and volunteers are on their way. However, just to be safe, we ask that you wait here until the blood bags arrive." Cynthia nodded, pressing the needle mark on her arm, "Take as much as you need, it's fine, as long as it can save her." Next door, Lilian seemed to hear Cynthia's voice. Her voice suddenly became slightly louder. "Cynthia Cynthia... Chapter 305

Cynthia noticed that Lilian's heartbeat suddenly sped up, and her blood oxygen dropped quickly. She seemed a bit excited. "Cynthia, you're here, right?"

The nurse walked over. "Ms. Jones, you can come over and be with the patient during the surgery. It would help calm the patient's emotions."

To them, one was the bride and the other was the maid of honor so they must be close friends. Moreover, Lillian kept calling out her name.

Cynthia walked over. Lilian's hand began to wave around aimlessly. "Cynthia, are you there? Where are you?"

In the end, unable to bear it, Cynthia took hold of one of Lillian's hands and said, "Lillian, I'm here."
