Chapter 107
Athena's POV
When upon returning home I carefully moved to take the triplets back opstales to their rooms where I then proceeded with laying each of them down for a nap once their bellies were nice and fulf. Adrian downstairs in the kitchen with Gwen and Alarick as they move to feed him some lunch, giving me a much needed break.
"They'll be fine Athena, I promise you whispers Artemis, for while t know that my children were currently safe from harm's way, I still couldn't wrap it around my head.
'I know that Artemis. I just can't help but worry though I admit, moving to let my pups sleep. Deciding to head for the office instead while Gwen and Alarick took care of Adrian. The thought of calling Elise all but coming to mine.
Are you really going to call her?' asks Artemis, as we move to enter the office. Heading towards the desk where Ares kept the phone, I all but moved to sit inside of his chair before reaching for the phone.
Grabbing a notebook that currently held all of the pack phone numbers listed, I moved to look up Elise's number only to replace it shortly after before moving to dial the number. The phone ringing only once before finally being answered. "Hello?" sounds the voice of a male.
"Ashton? It's Athena, can I talk to Elise please?" I moved to ask nicely, hoping that Elise was currently home.
"But of course, hold on for a second" was all I heard as Ashton moved to hand his mate the phone. Elise clearly had been next to him as
the sound of shuffling could be heard before Elise finally moved to answer the phone.
""Hello? Athena?" asks Elise.
*"Elise? Hey, I hope I'm not calling you at a bad time or anything" I say, relaxing from hearing her voice.
"No, of course not. I was actually just finishing up with something when you called me" admits Elise softly.
"Oh?" I replied.
"Yeah, so what do I owe you for the call? asks Elise, curiously.

"Oh, Uh, I just wanted to call and check in on you. I mean after all, you were pretty upset about your father when at the wedding that I did promise to check in. Plus I know we also promised to visit once I got back from my honeymoon and all" I move to say, hoping she would remember our promise.
"Oh yes, I was sad during your wedding. Sorry. Much has happened between then and now, but I do appreciate you calling me to check in" smiles Elise over the phone, happy to have a friend like Athena who was willing to check in with her.
"But of course, it's what friends do" I move to say, working up the courage to slowly reveal my true motive for calling Elise, Artemis's claim on her having a child.

"Thank you, I really do mean it. But I get this feeling that this isn't the only reason why you decided to call me is it?"
Sighing, I move to reply back, having been caught red handed.
"No... It's not my only reason for calling. I'm calling because Artemis has given me reason to believe that you had recently given birth to a newborn baby, a boy. And according to Mother Moon, this child will become your new Alpha as well as the mate of Samara" I all but say to her, hoping she didn't think I was crazy for even suggesting this.

Catching her silence, I know I must have hit a sensitive subject for her to I move in try again. "Elise?"
*In's true Alhena, I did give birth to a son. His name is Jayden. And yes you are correct too, he will become the next Alpha of my pack once I feel that he's ready and yes, he will also become the mate of your little girl Samara" admits Elise finally, her voice just barely above
a whisper.
Feeling my eyes widen, I attempt to process this new bit of information that was given to me suddenly.
'See I told you' giggles Artemis.
"Lucky shot' I say back to het, returning my attention back to Elise once more,
""But when? How?" I ask.
"It was right before the war with the Rogue King. As for how, probably the same way you did Artemis, through the Moon Goddess" answers Elise truthfully.
Now pausing in my own set of words, I too am all but shocked. Shaking away my swirling thoughts as I all but move to congratulate her on her becoming a mother to her first child.
"Congratulations Elise. I'm so happy for you and Ashton, you both deserve it and more" I move to tell her, a smile all but gracing my features, happy that she was getting what she finally deserved. A family of her own.

"Thank you... This truly means alot to me, especially from you" admits Elise, her voice soft as if she was trying not to cry.
"You're welcome. But, are you crying?" I carefully ask her, keeping my tone light.
"Yes... It's just... Having Jayden around us is a blessing, a blessing I wouldn't change for anything. But he only got to bond with my father only briefly before his passing and so because of that Jayden will never know who his grandfather truly is."
"I-I'm so sorry to hear that Elise. But at least if you think about it in a positive way, your father got to meet his grandson right before he passed, and if he's lucky your father will watch over him continuously with the help of Mother Moon, for after all my parents do" I admit softly hoping to offer her comfort.
"Thank you" whispers Elise, a softy smile now gracing her lips as we both continue to talk and chat, each of us exchanging pleasantries all while filling the other in on pack related stuff and any other random topic we could, blissfully unaware of what was about to happen until
it does.
The sound of something smashing through a window as it all but startles me, causing me to jump in my seat as it did.
"Athena? What was that? I heard a crash. Is everything okay over there?" asks Elise, her voice filled with worry for her friend.
Taking a moment to access the area I try to replace the source of the crash only to see something now laying on the floor of the office, just beneath the window. A rock of some sort now just laying there on the floor.
"I-It was from a rock. Someone through a rock at my office window" I murmur, unsure of who could have done that as we were
surrounded by trees.
"A rock? Are you sure?" asks Elise, concerned.
"Yes, I'm looking at it right as we speak" I say to her, still uneasy about it myself. "Hey let me call you back okay?" and then, without so much as giving her a chance to say I quickly move to hang up the phone before slowly making my way over towards the rock. 'Artemis?' I called...
'I'm here Athena... And I'll protect you, promise' was all I heard once I moved to finally approach the rock, afraid that something bad
