Chapter 143

Julia was used to Harry hugging her to sleep, but Harry was suddenly not around. Julia was not used to it. She would always wake up after sleeping for a while and subconsciously reach out to touch the empty space beside her. The touch made Julia deeply understand again that Harry probably wouldn't come back tonight.

The next day, Julia woke up in a daze and sneezed. She might have caught a cold from kicking the blanket last night. She lay in bed for a while before slowly getting up to pack. After preparing everything she needed for the business trip, she left. When she came to the dining table, she subconsciously glanced at the second floor. The door of the study had been closed, so she did not go to take a look. She was preparing to go out at eight in the morning.

She drove to the company. Only Valerie was standing at the door with her luggage. When she saw Julia get out of the car, she immediately ran over happily. She held Julia's hand and began to dance with joy as she looked forward to this business trip. Valerie asked, "You don't look well. Did you have a fight with Harry?"

Julia answered, "No."

Valerie didn't believe her. "Your expression is clearly telling me that you're in a bad mood. Could it be that Harry doesn't allow you to go on a business trip?"

"No, he's very supportive," Julia replied.

Valerie smiled. "If Harry is supporting you, why are you still frowning? You don't know how happy I am. This is the first time I'm going on a business trip with Ms. Powell. I have to perform well. What I'm most afraid of is being careless..."

Valerie nagged at the side. Julia looked at Valerie's exultant expression and was infected by her mood. She could not help but laugh. "It's not that serious. Just do your job seriously. Ms. Powell is not as strict as you think."

"It's different this time. The big boss is going with us," Valerie said.

Julia stopped chatting with Valerie. Instead, she took out her phone and took a look. She did not receive any messages from Harry. She also did not take the initiative to send a message to Harry because she did not know what to say. She did not want to be too polite. If Harry did not reply, she would not know what to do.

She would let her imagination run wild again. Julia actually hated herself at this time. She cared too much about Harry's thoughts. It was as if she was bound by something.

"Julia, I think you don't know how lucky you are. If I wanted to go on a business trip when my boyfriend was injured, he would definitely stop me. He would think of ways to make me stay. He might even pretend to be pitiful in front of me," Valerie began to complain. Before she could finish speaking, she received a call from her boyfriend.

Valerie took her phone and walked to the side. "I understand. I'm not as stupid as you think. I'm only going on a business trip for three days. There's no need to go through so much trouble. I'll take good care of myself. Have I always been so stupid in your heart? I won't spout nonsense. I know. You're so long-winded. You're just like an old man. You have said those words a thousand times."

Just by listening to Valerie's words, Julia could roughly imagine what her boyfriend was saying on the other end of the phone. When Valerie hung up and walked over, she was still complaining indignantly, "Sometimes, he's like an old man. As long as there's a chance, he'll educate me as if I'm really stupid."

"He's just concerned about you."

"Come on. He's just worried that I'll embarrass him."

Julia smiled without saying anything. Kathy and Asher's cars stopped at the entrance of the company. She and Valerie sat in

On the way, Kathy looked at Julia meaningfully. She did not mention what happened yesterday. Instead, she told them what they needed to do in the next three days. "This client is very important. You have to be careful." Valerie said, "Ms. Powell. I heard that this client's girlfriend has very high standards. She is dissatisfied with the several designers they found."

Kathy said, "Yes, having high standards means that this client is a person who pursues perfection."

Julia did not say anything, and Kathy did not specially ask Julia to answer. Along the way, Julia listened to Valerie chatting with Kathy. Valerie took this opportunity to express her admiration for Kathy.

As the name implied, willow trees were the most obvious symbol of Willow City. Starting from the highway, willow branches were hanging from the ground everywhere, especially along the river. The willow branches floated on the river. As the breeze blew, the willow branches fluttered. The river surface floated and sparkled. The haze caused by Harry was instantly replaced by the scene in front of Julia.

When they arrived at the hotel, Julia and Valerie stayed in the same room. They had arrived a day earlier, so they could arrange today's schedule at will. Kathy and Asher had their own things to do, so Valerie dragged Julia to go shopping. "I've never been to Willow City before. I've long heard that willow trees can be seen everywhere in Willow City. Now that I've seen it today, it really lives up to its reputation."

Valerie took photos of all kinds of beautiful scenery. "I have to send it to my idiot boyfriend."

"Your idiot boyfriend?" Julia did not know whether to laugh or cry.

"I call him that because he always calls me stupid." Valerie could not accept being called stupid by her boyfriend. She could not win against him in front of him, so she would secretly give her boyfriend nicknames, such as idiot and fool. Sometimes, she would also call him a wench.

Julia rarely heard Valerie complain about her boyfriend. In the past, Valerie said that her boyfriend was the most perfect person in the world and the person who liked her the most. Today was the first time that she complained about him.

Julia said, "Looks like you're a wild horse that has run out of control. You're starting to let yourself go without any supervision."

"Yeah, he finally can't get to me anymore." Valerie continued to take photos. Julia slowly followed behind her.

Willow City was much cooler than Cromont City. At least, there was no hot sun or sweltering steam that made people sweat uncontrollably when walking.

There were more pedestrians on the street than in Cromont City. Julia even saw people sitting by the roadside playing chess and poker. She felt that the people here really knew how to live. They were relaxed and did not seem to be in a hurry to do anything. Valerie commented, "When I'm old, I'll come and live here. Julia. I like the life here. It feels like none of them are under any pressure."

Julia nodded, and the two of them walked to another place. There was a gate for a big community there. There was no need for tickets to enter. It was filled with commercial buildings and shops. There were all kinds of things that dazzled people. Julia liked to collect local things every time she traveled. This place was quite interesting to her.

Back at the hotel, Valerie lay on the bed and turned over. She looked at Julia who was looking at her phone and could not help but ask curiously, "You've been looking at your phone all day today. Are you waiting for Harry's call?" ""It's not that."

"Then are you worried that Harry won't be able to take care of himself without you by his side? If you're really worried, call him. Harry is so busy. He's probably still busy now. He might not even have eaten."

Julia smiled and said, "Harry will take care of himself. He doesn't need me."

Valerie was stunned. She quickly got up and sat beside Julia. "You two must have had a fight."
