Refusing To Divorce (Julia and Harry) -
Refusing 148
Chapter 148
Julia had never felt such a real dream. Even though Harry kept asking, she still did not say a word about it. She only said, "The dream usually means something opposite of what it shows
Sometimes, she was quite metaphysical and believed that dreams could give people hints. However, every time she dreamed of something bad, she would use that logic to convince herself that it was just a dream, which was an illusory image woven by her subconsciousness.
The next day, Julia stayed in the hotel to do her own thing. Kathy did not assign her and Valerie any other work. She only asked them to hand over the draft within the stipulated time. As for other matters, it did not seem to have anything to do with them. Julia liked to do the first draft of the design on paper. She would only use the computer when it was completed. She held a pen and drew on the paper. Harry sat on the beanbag by the window and read a book. The room was quiet and beautiful, incomparably harmonious. From time to time, Julia would look up at Harry, who was reading seriously. When she saw that he was fully focused, she silently looked at the drawing paper. There were drafts by her feet that filled with what she thought had failed. She looked at the piles of waste paper on the ground and tried to calm herself down.
Harry saw Julia scratching her head from the corner of his eye and could not help but laugh. He did not make a sound. The sunlight outside the window shone on the white carpet in the room. Harry looked at the scene in front of him and even thought of a girl who looked extremely similar to Julia.
She had two ponytails and was wearing a white floral dress as she followed behind him. When she saw him turn around, she immediately hid under a big tree beside her. The green leaves exposed her location, and the breeze blew the hem of her dress. She subconsciously pressed her hand against the hem of her dress.
Julia was in a terrible fix and was about to go crazy. She put the pen aside in frustration and walked to Harry's side to sit down. "This is the first time I feel that I don't have any inspiration at all."
"Then I'll take you somewhere." Harry closed the book, changed into another set of clothes, and left the hotel with Julia.
Julia followed Harry without a reason. She did not ask where they were going. She just felt that as long as she followed Harry, nothing bad would happen.
Harry gave Alden a day off. He drove Julia around the city and went to the suburbs of Willow City.
The car stopped at the entrance of a red brick house. There were two red lights hanging on both sides of the door. If anyone saw this scene at night, they would probably be frightened. It was like a house out of a horror film. It was sinister and strange everywhere. These were the impressions that Julia had of this house. She rarely came to such places, but it did not stop her from liking them. When she entered, she saw two huge water tanks on both sides. There were goldfish in the water tanks, and the wall- beside them was soaked in years of rain and covered in moss.
Julia carefully followed Harry. They passed through the long corridor and saw a pavilion on the water. The pavilion was covered by a white gauze curtain, so they could not see what was going on inside.
Suddenly, someone spoke from behind Julia, giving Julia a shock. "Mr. Wright, why didn't you tell me you were coming?" "Your master always likes to play tricks," Harry said to the person rudely. Julia turned around and saw a hunchbacked old man wearing a suit. He did not have too much hair, and the hair he had was visibly white. He also had a white beard that was almost reaching his neck. The old man held his walking stick. "Mr likes a quiet life. He often comes here alone to stay for a few days."

"Where is he?"

"He's drinking coffee in the pavilion. He probably knows that there's an important guest coming here today and specially asked us to brew a pot of coffee."
Julia did not know anything. Harry held her hand and walked through the long corridor to the pavilion. The old man reached out and lifted the curtain first. They saw a young man in a white suit sitting on a chair inside.
Julia was stunned. She was not surprised by the man's handsomeness or the way he dressed, but the indifference and alienation on the man's face made her see the former Harry.
She retracted her gaze and looked at Harry. She thought to herself that birds of a feather flock together. As Harry's friends, they are very similar to him, other than Asher, Asher looked out of place with them.
"Take a seat." The man in the suit elegantly held the coffee cup. Without even looking at them, he gestured for them to sit down. Then, he picked up the pot and poured coffee for them. He said indifferently, "Why didn't you tell me in advance that you were coming? Are you planning a sudden attack?" "Don't you come back here at this time every year?" Harry handed a coffee cup to Julia. "When are you going to Cromont City?"
The man smiled. "A city like Cromont City is no longer suitable for me. I'm too lazy to go. If I go, I'll cause unnecessary trouble and have to socialize."
Julia sat beside Harry and listened to their conversation. She was confused and could not understand at all. She thought, 'Is this man from Cromont City? However, I have never heard that Cromont City had such an outstanding bachelor.'
Harry was noble, but this man was cold and indifferent. Before Julia met this man, she had always thought that such a man could only be seen in television dramas. She did not expect to see him in real life.
The man asked, "Is this the Julia Wright that Asher mentioned to me?"
Julia realized that the man's sitting gesture had not changed. There was a thin gray blanket on his legs. She subconsciously looked at the man's legs. When she saw the man looking at her, she quickly avoided him as if she had done something wrong.
"Yes." Harry was a man of few words. This man had even fewer words. Julia sat in the middle and did not know what to say. The atmosphere was indescribably awkward. She could only drink coffee to ease her uneasiness.
"Let's have dinner together later. I'll call Asher to come along." The man's gaze did not linger on Julia anymore. "Asher won't take the initiative to look for me every time he comes. I have to be the one to invite him every time."
"He probably hasn't sobered up yet." Harry smiled knowingly at the man. Then, he heard chattering outside the pavilion. "I heard you talking bad about me from afar. Jeff, how can you say this? When have I not looked for you every time I come here?" Asher lifted the curtain and was stunned when he saw Julia. "Give me some water. I'm thirsty."
Jeff Reed poured a glass of coffee and gave it to Asher. "This high-quality coffee going into your mouth is a waste of God's gift."
"There's nothing I like to hear from you. Why am I here? I feel like I am embarrassing myself?" Asher looked at Harry and then at Jeff. He turned around and said to Julia, "Before I came, did you feel bored? Both of them are boring people." Julia did not nod. She just smiled. She was thinking about how Asher was able to get along with them.
Just like what Asher said, Jeff spoke less than Harry. Asher would be the one chattering at the side until the old man appeared and placed a bowl of soup in front of Jeff. Only then did Asher shut up.
