Refusing To Divorce (Julia and Harry) -
Refusing 168
Chapter 168
"Why are you so absent-minded when walking?" A low and gentle voice suddenly sounded. Julia looked up and saw Asher smiling at her. She took a step back. "Mr. Cooper."
Asher looked at Julia's fluttered actions and forced a smile. He looked deeply at Julia and gave her a few instructions before leaving.
After Asher left, Valerie went forward and tugged on Julia's sleeve. "I was talking to you just now and didn't notice Mr. Cooper walking over. However, I feel that the way Mr. Cooper looks at you is kind of different."
Valerie then looked in the direction where Asher left. As if she felt that she was mistaken, she simply turned back to look at Julia, who smiled and said, "What's the difference in the way Mr. Cooper looks at me? I think you're just too gossipy." "Really? I really feel it's a little different. It's like Otis secretly looking at you. Do you understand?" Valerie winked.
But Julia just found it too ridiculous. Asher was Harry's good friend. There was no way for them to like the same woman. Julia ignored Valerie and returned to her desk. "Have you finished the job Ms. Powell gave you? Stop gossiping."
At the mention of Kathy, Valerie instantly felt nervous as if she was facing a great enemy. She quickly returned to her seat and started working, blocking the surrounding noise.
Julia placed one hand on the table and rested her cheek on her palm. She stared at the screen in a daze for a while until her phone vibrated. Almost instinctively, she picked up her phone and opened it. It was a message from Alden. [Mrs. Wright, Mr. Wright is busy with work and has even skipped lunch.]
Julia stared at Alden's message and did not know what to reply. Then, she received another message from him. "No matter what we say, Mr. Wright won't listen. He only listens to you now, Mrs. Wright. Could you say something to him?" Julia replied with a question mark.
Alden stared at the question mark and did not know what to do. He had already sent the message according to Harry's instructions, but he did not get the reply he desired. Meanwhile, Harry's phone remained silent. Even if the screen lit up, it was a notification from the app.
"Mr. Wright." Alden looked at Harry in fear. If he had not lied to Julia because of Arya, their relationship would have been heated by leaps and bounds.
Harry was a victim of his own scheming. He had nothing to do with Arya, but he chose to hide it from Julia and successfully aroused her suspicion. Now, he could not clear his name even if he died.
Alden did not send another message to Julia, and she did not reply either. Harry stared at the quiet phone and waved for Alden to leave the office. Then, he held his phone and wondered if he should send a message to Julia.
At night, Harry looked out the window as the sky gradually darkened. The setting sun disappeared halfway up the mountain. The lights in the entire city were bright and dreamy. Harry closed the file and walked from the chair to the window.
Standing in front of the large floor-to-ceiling window, he could see the scenery outside. No matter how noisy the world was, it could not fill up the discomfort in Harry's heart. He did not know what Julia was doing at this moment. 'Are you going home or having a meal with friends? Why don't you contact me?
When he saw Julia's concern for him in the hospital, Harry thought that Julia was not angry with him. It turned out that it was just his imagination. The resentment in Julia's heart could not be dispelled. When Harry thought of this, he could not help but sigh. Finally, he still made a call to Julia. The moment the call went through, he heard a rowdy and noisy voice on the other end. He could even vaguely hear a familiar voice:

Harry could not help but frown. Julia did not say anything. It was too quiet on his end. Julia's cold voice was like a pouring rain that suddenly drenched Harry's head. "If there's nothing important, I'm hanging up."
"There is," Harry answered without hesitation.
"What is it?" Julia's tone was still very cold.
Harry took a deep breath and deliberately lowered his voice. He said weakly, "I'm not feeling well. Is it convenient for you to come to my company now?"
Harry never thought that he would use the pathetic ruse of sadfishing continuously. As he spoke, he held his stomach and continued, "I feel terrible. Alden is off work." "Which part?" Julia walked out of the room with her phone and found a quiet place. No one knew what she was thinking.
"My stomach. It's like there's a knife churning in it."
"But I can't leave now. There are always other people in the company. Why don't you replace someone else?" Julia said in a low voice and gave Harry a friendly suggestion.
Harry groaned and said faintly, "Then forget it. I won't die anyway. Just work and go home early."
Julia nødded. Harry slowly hung up and threw his phone on the table. Julia was so ruthless. Even when he was feeling unwell, she was still so indifferent and having a meal with her friends.
Harry had been wondering who the familiar voice he heard on the phone was. He did not dare to ask Julia directly, afraid that he would irritate Julia again. He had never felt that an angry woman was so difficult to coax. In the past, as long as those women dared to be angry with him, he would directly throw a sum of money at them and leave. He was spending time with them to enjoy, not to serve.
When Julia returned, she was obviously distracted while Valerie and Asher chatted happily. The topic of conversation revolved around Julia. Valerie glanced at Julia. "Hey, you're absent-minded after answering the call. What happened?"
Julia shook her head, but she tightly held her phone in her hand. Harry's weak voice did not sound fake. Alden said that he was very busy at noon and had not eaten lunch. She remembered that Harry seemed to have gastric problems. "Just say it. Don't keep it to yourself," Asher said with a smile. "If you can't solve it, you can look for me."
Envy flashed across Valerie's eyes. She thought to herself that Julia was so lucky to look so beautiful and be surrounded by rich handsome men. Unfortunately, Julia was still like an idiot and did not see through Asher's feelings for her. Valerie pouted and felt that she was too smart. If she didn't work in jewelry design and went to be a paparazzi, she would have made a lot of money.
"There's no need." She was afraid that no one could help with this problem. Julia could not deny that ever since she received Harry's call, she had been feeling uneasy. After eating for a short while, Julia stood up and packed her things. She said in a deep voice, "I have something on and need to leave first. I'm sorry, I'll treat you guys to a meal next time."
Asher ran out and grabbed Julia's hand at the entrance of the restaurant. Julia struggled instinctively and looked at Asher in confusion. "What's wrong?"
