Chapter 29 Scott's Visit

“Impossible! Finn, never think about it!” Carl Shaw was about to refuse,but Hank Shawn took first. The Spring Hill project was their money tree,so how could he share it with others.

“Is that how you apologize?” Finn naturally knew that they wouldn'tgive him the project. What he intended was just to tease Hank.

“Finn, I can apologize, but you should know that this project belongs tous. We can compensate for Maura in other aspects.” Carl said in a deepvoice.

“Other aspects? For example? Let Maura return to the company?” Finnsneered.

Carl's face was terrible. He could feel the sarcasm in Finn's voice, but hehad to force him to ignore it. “More than that, we can not only allowMaura to return to the company but also give her the building in theeast. Besides, we'll give her a five percent share of the Spring Hillproject.”

Carl looked at Finn. This was his final concession, which he thought wasadvantageous enough to move Finn and Maura.

But Finn seemed to have no interest.

“A five percent share? Uncle, you're so generous.” Finn mocked.

“Finn Chen, don't be greedy! A five percent share was enough for youto live a quite wealthy life!” Carl frowned. He knew well about Finn'sliving situation, delivering food in rains and winds, a salary of less than6 or 7 thousand yuan, but a five percents share would bring to himalmost ten million yuan a year! To exaggerate, Finn couldn't make somuch money as a delivery man for all his life.

“Well, uncle, you can go back and tell Scott Shawn; Maura won't returnto the company unless he can come here to apologize to Maura himselfand let Maura handle the Spring Hill project. Otherwise, there will be noway to talk about this matter.” Though Finn said calmly, the wordshocked Carl and Hank much.

Did Finn say that he needed Scott to come here to apologize and letMaura take the project?

Was Finn's brain full of bullshits?

Even Maura Shawn and Leah were shocked by that. It seemed that Finnwas too fanciful!

“You seem to have no sincerity. Do you know what consequence will beif Maura’s grandfather apologizes to her?” Carl threatened.“Consequence? I really want to see what consequence it will be.” Finndidn't care about it at all. Just a Shawn's Family, if he wanted, he couldeasily destroy it at will.

"Good! Good! Good! I hope you can still speak so hard when troublecomes to you!” Carl was so furious. He didn't expect that Finn, thecoward as ignoble as an ant, could be so arrogant now.

How wildly arrogant this worm was!

It was no need to talk more. Carl pulled Hank, who still intended tocurse, to leave.

After the two left, Leah stared at Finn. “What advantage do you rely on?The benefits they offered were perfect. Why didn't you accept?”

“Mom, I have no advantage. I just want to get some from them forMaura. They should know that they can't bully Maura at their wills.”Finn answered.

“What? How were you so arrogant with no advantage?”

Leah was enraged. A five percent share was enough to move her. Shewould definitely have accepted this just now if Finn weren't so arrogant.Finn's arrogance made her misunderstand that Finn had someadvantages

In Leah's opinion, money was much more important than the face. Theywould live on air if they still had no income.

“Mom, the manager of that project is Finn's classmate,” Mauraexplained. She had guessed that Finn had asked Shane Lin to putpressure on Shawn's Family. Obviously, Shawn's Family had met someproblems with the project.

“Classmate?” Leah looked at Finn with disbelief. “What kind ofclassmate? How can he help you to offend Shawn's Family?”“Classmate in university, we lived in the same bunk bed, and we're asclosed as one mind in two bodies.” Finn lied without unease.

“That's not safe.” Leah worried. “You'd better make sure your classmateis useful. If Maura couldn't go back to the company, you should divorceher immediately.”

“Mom, take it easy. My classmate has promised me.” Finn smiled.

“You and your classmate have graduated from the same university, buthow can you two have such a big gap, a manager and a delivery man?”Leah murmured discontentedly. How satisfied she would be if Mauracould marry a man like Shane Lin.

Finn smiled but didn't say anything.

The next morning, a piece of surprising news came from Shawn'sFamily. Scott Shawn, the head of Shawn's Family, Maura's grandfather,was going to apologize to Maura himself!

All members of Shawn's Family were shocked.

In Shawn's Family, Scott was the god who had never been offended.Maura was just a dispensable girl who had always been a joke since shemarried Finn three years ago.

But today, the god was going to apologize to a joke!

No one could accept this fact. Even Leah and Maura felt it unreal.Maura looked blank. She hadn't woken up until Scott knocked on thedoor.

This was the first time Scott came to Maura’s house. Carl and Hankfollowed behind Scott, as well as Sara and her father, almost all theinfluential people in Shawn's Family!

Leah and Maura were nervous because of the overwhelmingatmosphere those people brought.

Only Finn was calm.

He had expected that Scott would bow his head.

Maybe in others’ eyes, Scott was sacred and couldn't be offended, butin Finn's eyes, Scott was just an ordinary old man who would bow hishead to compromise when insoluble difficulties came. Scott had livedfor many years, he definitely was not a young man who took dignitymuch more important than others.

Therefore, in Finn's opinion, Scott's visit was inevitable.

As soon as Scott entered the house, he kept observing the expressionsof the three people inside.

He had expected Leah and Maura’s flattering expression.

Then he turned his eyes to Finn. Confident, with a smile on his face,Finn seemed to have no surprise. Scott felt a thump in his heart,knowing that he had bet Finn wrong. He had lived for such a long life,but this was the first time he bet the wrong horse.
