Waking up the next day, I felt cold , not cold as if it was cold. Just because I didn’t have a hot water bottle that my was my mate was at the side of me the whole night. Bolting up, I looked to see Anthea and Penny still sleeping and Enzo and Ryken were missing from their beds too. I looked around frantically but couldn’t see them , anxiety started creeping up on me like a tsunami. I saw one of the panthers standing just at the doorway of the building. ” Excuse me ” I shouted, stirring Anthea and Penny. The panther looked into the building at me and smiled. ” Yes Miss ? ” he asked me.

” Where are our mates ? ” I rushed out worried , which put the other two girls on high alert too. They both bolted up in their beds. But the panther didn’t seem at all worried they were gone. He actually let out a little chuckle. ” They woke up early and said they would make a start on one of the other buildings for us , to help out. But I think they are doing it more to burn off some steam with how quickly they have built the foundations. They have been non stop for the last three hours ” he pointed in one direction. ” If all wolves and dragons work at that speed maybe we should ask more to come up here. Our tribe’s houses will be built in no time “, he laughed again.

Me and the girls all climbed out of our beds and made our way out. The sun was already up quite high so we must have slept in quite a little. Looking in the direction they pointed , I saw my mate on top of some beams shirtless and sweaty , the sun kissing his skin as he effortlessly pulled up a large plank of wood from Rykens’ hands, who was also shirtless. Enzo was lifting large planks of wood and moving them , shirtless too. The scene was a living wet dream. But my eyes stayed glued to my mate, as I’m sure the other girls’ eyes were glued to their own mates. Watching their muscles flex and bunch as they worked. There were some panthers there with them too , but they were just in the background, especially for me.

” s**t ” I breathed out in appreciation. ” Yea ” Anthea said, all husky and deep. I pulled my eyes begrugingly away from Devon to glance at Penny and she looked flushed , her eyes dilated. Looking back at Devon , I felt a heat pooling between my legs. A gush of wind came from behind us. And in unsicon all the men seconds later that were working looked in our direction. Enzo placed the word he was carrying down and stalked towards Anthea his eyes flashing yellow. Ryken on his tail.

I watched in fascination as Devon stood up with grace and balanced on such a thin beam quite high off of the ground, before he effortlessly jumped down, landing on his feet. He started his predatory walk towards me. ” f**k ” I heard Anthea whisper. ” Run ” she said mischievously to me and Penny. I was confused as to why I would run. But when I looked at her she was smiling at her mate, so I knew it wasn’t because she sensed danger or anything , there was a challenge on her face. ” They love to hunt, trust me run ” she smiled , before she turned and took off running, laughing at herself.

I looked at Devon and he shook his head in warning. But I kind of wanted to replace out what playing this game with him would do. ” Run Penny ” I encouraged her. She looked a little nervous about the way Ryken was eyeing her. I had no doubt that this would be her first time. So why not make it memorable? I grabbed her hand and pulled her along with me. ” They want to play “, I heard Enzo growl in glee. ” Go that way “, I shouted to Penny. While I took off in a different direction. Minutes passed by and he didn’t appear , so, chancing it , I peaked my head from behind the tree and looked around and couldn’t see him anywhere.

Confused, I looked around. Where was he ? Turning my body, I pressed my front on the tree so I could look better. And that was when I heard something above me in the tree I was leaning on. Looking up , I saw him. He was grinning down at me with a promise that I was about to get what I deserved for making a wolf hunt me out. We stood staring at each other caught in a bubble. Licking my lips, I took my eyes off of him to look in a direction and he hummed. ” Don’t do it baby “, he warned. I took off , ignoring his warning.

Then skidded to a halt as he dropped in front of me. His eyes were fully yellow now , his teeth aligned. ” You girls like to play a dangerous game ” he smirked at me. I smiled and licked my lips ” Or just a thrilling one “, I countered. We closed the gap between us , no more games. Our lips smashed together. He gripped my hair and pulled my head to the side , his lips and teeth grazing down my neck. When he hit the mating mark he had left on me, I felt myself shiver.
