As soon as we landed, one thing I knew was this was not like Violet’s parents’ camps. They didn’t live out of tents. They had shacks and little cabins everywhere. Which made no sense. The council and the other coven said they moved around a lot. They couldn’t move all of this. Which could only mean one thing, that it was a set up too , to keep people knowing they had a base-a permanent home. And it looks like they brought us to it , which meant they didn’t plan on us ever getting out of here. They wouldn’t risk bringing us here if they did.

We were marched to a cabin by Harry and Tanya. They swung the door open with ease and when we went in, it smelled stale. Like it hadn’t been opened or used in a long time. ” You’ll stay here , don’t get any bright ideas. There will be guards all around the building and those shackles are staying firmly on. We are going to go see if those mutts have kept true to our bargain ” Tanya snapped.

” Wait wait , what about food? Is there food in here? And where are we? You’ve always had camps like my parents. What is this place ? ” I asked like I was panicking. Tanya looked at Harry, who shrugged , like he was bored. ” Oh, we have camps , our coven has grown , we have taken over many other covens and we go spend time at each one. While your parents were being idiots, we were strengthening our coven , and gaining people. But this land here is our home base. Back in the seventeenth hundred there was a mass witch slaying here. A coven of powerful witches lived in this land. They were mainly good witches that just wanted to live a life of peace. But they were found. Fearing their magical ability, they were slaughtered in the most gruesome of ways. The witches are now no longer peaceful , they are pissed. These lands hold the most potent and powerful energy resources because they are still livid. Nothing beats a woman scorned , especially when those who found them pretend to be good. They stayed with them for weeks , faking that they were in love with the female coven members. Only to kill them brutally. Do you know who these men were that did this ? ” she asked me and I actually feared the answer.

When I remained quiet she laughed ” Wolves “, she cackled ” If wolves stepped on this land for you , I have no doubt they would double our power. They would give us everything we have. Their energies are that strong. We have even known them do magic around here from their shallow graves that are scattered around here. So, most likely, we won’t even have to lift a finger. They will kill your mutts for us ” she laughs again and walks out. Harry looks at us. ” Food will be brought ” he grumps, and then steps out, closing the door.

” Enzo “, I tried through our link , holding my breath that something hadn’t severed it. ” I’m here ” his dark voice drifts through. ” Look up a mass witch slaughtering done by wolves , its hot , like balls hot here. And there’s a smell of the ocean in the air. She just told us the witches here are pissed , the wolves lead them to believe they loved them before killing them. It is where they get their magic from , these lands and these pissed witches. She says they hate wolves , and their spirits would most likely strike any wolf that stepped on this land. Or give the dark witches more power, s**t man. We need to be careful , and if these pissed off dead witches figure out or know I am a wolf , I’m f****d “, I tell him through our link.

They are just doing it now with the girls to protect the members from the killing us spell. Then we will go back on the bargain because they took you. And we don’t trust them to bring you back. Either way, Wallace is not being woken. ” I was glad we were in agreement about that. ” How’s the girls doing ? ” I asked , and there was a moment of hesitation on his part which was weird and made panic start to rise.

” Deteremined to get their mates back ” was what he said eventually. Which made me smile. Maybe our mates were in kicking a*s mode. I looked to see Ryken was looking out of a window at the other side of the room. Getting up, I went over and saw what he was looking at. Harry and Tanya disappeared into another cabin. It was directly across from ours. Only a few minutes later , Harry came storming out fuming. He started barking orders and, thanks to my hearing, I heard him say ‘the spell on the pack goes back up.That we had not held our end of the bargain up. They have had enough time back with their pack now to know the spell isn’t there, no one has killed them , that should be there f*****g clue ‘. ” They are coming to put the spell back on “, I warned Enzo.

” It won’t work the girls have finished ” he says. A smug smirk threatened to creep onto my lips , but I managed to keep it off. Especially when Harry looked up our way and locked eyes with me, smugness would have been a dead give away. So, I faked panic. Turning away from the window, I carefully looked around the dusty shed they had put us in , looking for cameras or wires, anything. When I came up empty, I then whispered to Ryken. ” They’ve put the spell up to stop them putting theirs back on, prepare for this to get rough. I think we will be the ones they take it out on “.

Penny’s facial expression turned grave. ” I have to be careful with this body , this isn’t mine if something goes wrong. Penny will have no where to go back to. Whatever ever we do here, we need to be careful. You are what they want here , not Penny. We need to make it so they don’t go and hurt her. You know how these things go. They start making an example and it’s normally with people they care for.” s**t , when we had done this I hadn’t thought of that. ” We won’t let them do anything “, I said with conviction.

” They’re looking for us , hopefully they will get here quickly and we will get this over with. I’ve told them to be careful if these dead witches hate wolves that much. It could not just be the living we are facing here “. Then the only thing we could then do was sit and wait. A dark witch turned up with some food. We ate it in silence , then, when night fell. We decided to take it in turn who slept. Keeping up the rouse, we were girls. We did what girls would do. I let Ryken rest Penny’s head on my lap to start with . There was a bed , but it looked like the dust was thicker than the mattress. So we pulled the cushions off, banged them down and just sat on the floor. I used the cushions to rest my back against the wood , and he used my lap as a cushion.

Resting my head back , I closed my eyes. Pretending to be asleep too. But I kept my ears primed and ready to hear anything. It was how I heard the guards whispering outside. ” The wolves have done something , they can’t replace the deception spell ” one said , thinking we would not hear. Not knowing who I really was. ” I heard Harry was going mad, he said something didn’t seem right. But Tanya says he is being over paranoid. That we have always out played our enemy. She thinks they are just withholding waking him because these two haven’t turned back up. I think they underestimated the fact they have warlocks on their team now. “

The other huffs ” I don’t see the point in all of this , Wallace is better off where he is. Sleeping. We all know what he is like when he is awake. Now he doesn’t have that coven to play around with , he will be here trying to take over. The fact it is his parents he is trying to undermine means nothing to him. We all know that. “

I heard the other shush him. ” Don’t say stuff like that. You know if you are heard you will be dead. It is all for the future , for our kind to finally stop living in the woods hiding and moving. ” Enzo , they are coming for the girls in our bodies. They plan to kill the girls’ mates so you’ll drop the fight.
