We went to the castle two days after we had decided to. In that time, me and Enzo had kept to ourselves , expect from our siblings. And Shira . I felt extremely paranoid , looking at everyone like they were a suspect and could be these warlock princesses. Shira had zipped us all here with magic, she had asked Willow for help, who had seemed reluctant , she had warned us all to dress warmly. Which on a roasting island had seemed a little strange , but as soon as we appeared where we were meant to, it made perfect sense. Our feet landed in snow. The wind was so strong it blew it around and whipped at our faces like a knife.

None of us had brought clothes equipped for this. When we packed back home , we only thought we were going to an exotic island. Not to the bloody north pole, or wherever we were. ” s**t, Shira , you said it would be cold not f*****g this ” Enzo complained , pulling me in close to his body. ” Wouldn’t we be better in our wolves , at least they have fur ” Samuel m****d. ” Not all of us have fur , suck it up ” Willow bitched. She pointed out, ” It’s just there look, no more than a five-minute walk. Why we couldn’t just land in there though is beyond me “. Squinting my eyes through the blizzard happening around us , I saw the huge castle. How I hadn’t seen it before was beyond me. I hadn’t really been looking to be fair , too busy shielding my face from the onslaught of snow.

But now I couldn’t look away , just the sight of it made me swallow. It wasn’t a nice castle , that was welcoming and pretty. No, this castle looked dark , bland and horrid. Huge , the drawing that we had seen of it , didn’t match the size of it at all. Against the beautiful white backdrop , it looked like it didn’t belong.

” Because how do we know that there is nothing left in there ? Even if the warlocks were gone , other undesirables could have taken ownership “, Violet snapped at her. Willow looked at her and rolled her eyes. ” Your all soft , come one, let’s get this over with and get back to where it’s nice and hot. My body is much too nice to hide under all these drab clothes “. I caught Violet’s eyes and she fake gagged , and rolled her eyes in Willows direction. I gave her a smile , just to seem like everything was normal. A natural response to someone who was making fun of someone who deserved it. But inside I was wondering if she really was against us, if she was one of them. Now, if someone had told me Willow was one of them , I could believe it. Who knows, maybe she was.

” How are we going to know if people are inside ? “Abigail shouted over the sound of the whipping wind. ” Easy , get the wolves close enough to see if they hear anything. That and I will cast a spell to see if that picks anything up ” Shira shouts back. ” Why don’t you lot just wait here and we go in ? “Peter asks, pointing at him , Rion , Samuel , Devon , Enzo and Willows dragon mate. I didn’t like the idea of any of us splitting up. But Peter didn’t know me and Enzo were on high alert for foul play. He still thought everyone here was trusted. ” Yea, let’s do it. I could do with a good brawl , not hitting the training mats has me getting out of shape “. Devon cheekily grinned , Enzo looked down at me and I saw his hesitation.

” Go on , show off your muscles ” I laughed , we had to appear cool to everyone. ” No need , I can just shift and fly over the place, my dragon will know if anyone is inside “, Rykan offered. He grinned up at the sky. ” My dragon hasn’t had this much space to fly in a long time , I can’t see there being any prying eyes around here. ” Willow clapped ” Ohhh my baby is fabulous as his dragon go on shift. Let them see your beast “. She almost started jumping with excitement. If I was honest, I kind of wanted to see that too , bit strange a wolf to be saying this. But I had only ever heard of dragon shifters in books. Apparently, there weren’t loads left and those that were kept to themselves mainly.

I mean how does a dragon fit into a human body ? Then I rolled my eyes at my thoughts. How does a big wolf? He started stripping, handing all of his clothes to Willow , so I politely looked away. When he walked off , and all you could see was his naked bum walking off, I cringed at how cold he must feel.

” Dragons run hot , they don’t feel the cold ” Willow says. I looked and she was looking straight at me. I felt my cheeks blush being caught watching him. But she didn’t feel so embarrassed when her eyes started flicking at the rest of the males stripping off. Everyone stopped what they were doing though to watch Rykan. He didn’t start shifting until he was quite a distance away. But when he did, I think it took us all by surprise.

Where Rykan had been standing , it looked like a blizzard of snow was around him. A large shadow was hidden behind it. The shadow moved and enlarged , until it stood taller than the castle . When he had finished his shift , the snow around it settled back to the ground slowly, revealing what it had been hiding. I felt my mouth drop open and my eyes widen as the dragon reveled. No wonder he went so far , now his body wasn’t that far away from us. Its big head dropped and moved so its breath literally blew across us and its big yellow eyes stared at us. Its skin was back with a purple shimmer to its scales. Its tail looked like it went on for miles behind it. I felt myself taking a step back. I mean Willow had called him a fire breather before.

But she just walked over and started stroking the big beast’s nose , it closed its eyes and made a loud groaning sound . Before it started stepping back. The dragon took big strides and moved further away from us. I think I heard a few s**t’s and f**k’s from people when the big animal spread its wings out. Then started flapping them , the snow around us blew up in the air from the ground from the force of the gail the dragon caused. We all had to cover our eyes and faces as we got his with snow. When we could finally drop our arms, the dragon was gone. Looking up , all you could see was a large dark figure above the snow clouds.

” Lets go ” Enzo instructed , all the males around us finished stripping, ditching their clothes with us. Willow soaked it up , of course she would. Her eyes ate at them all greedily. While us girls scowled at her. It was a relief when they all shifted and ran off towards the castle. She shrugged when she finally noticed the dirty looks she was getting off us all. ” What ? “she asked, acting innocent.

” Stop checking our other people’s mates out” Violet snapped at her and Willow just rolled her eyes. ” Get the sticks out of your asses, it would be an insult if I didn’t ” she huffs and looks back up at the sky. I was nervous , Abigail and Lorna looked nervous too, watching the castle. I slid a look at Violet, trying not to be too obvious. Her mate had just run in there. She should feel some sort of nerves like we did. But in actual fact, she just looked bored.

Walking over to Abigail , Lorna and Shira , I huddled up with them and kept my eye on the castle. It wasn’t until I did that did Violet start looking a little worried too. But right now I don’t want to concentrate on that. I watched the castle as it kept getting dark as the huge beast hovered around it. My eyes never staring once , I concentrated on our link making sure I didn’t feel any sort of distress coming from Enzo. It was maybe five minutes later but what felt like hours before the big dragon landed with a thud from out of the sky. It bent it’s head towards Willow. And she stroked it’s huge nose again before she turned and looked at us. ” He says its all clear ” , but I still hadn’t heard anything from Enzo.

” Enzo the dragon says its clear , is it ? “I asked through our mind link. I wasn’t about to trust them. So when he finally came through, he said everything was clear. That was when I told the girls it was all clear. Taking a deep breath , we all set off forward. My heart was pounding for what we could maybe replace. For some reason, this felt huge.
