” You heard her , give her the magic “, Enzo said through our link, with humor in his voice. I mean it was what we were trying to do , what we brought her here to do. But we can’t let her see we were happy about that. ” Fine , fine, I will give it to you. Just don’t hurt him ” I said , using my best acting skills. I looked at the girls and gave a slight nod. ” We will all give you our magic , just don’t hurt him and just leave. When we have given it you. Just leave us alone. Don’t come back here ” I pleaded.

She looked over at me and looked me up and down. ” Why would you so easily give it up now ? ” she asked, skeptical. I licked my lips and looked at Devon. ” He is our family , that is what you do for family “, I told her. Her eyes went down to look at Firya. Who had finally gone still. The fighting around us went quiet. I found it odd that none of them seemed to be attacking us now , like maybe she had told them not to. Now that she was maybe going to get what she wanted.

” That is what makes you all weak ” she said in disdain, looking back up at me. ” What makes you think I will stick to my word ? And stay away from you all ? ” she asked. I shrugged ” I don’t know if you will , but we will have nothing left you want. All we want is to live peacefully , all of this ” I sweep my hands around and the chaos. ” We don’t want this , I want to raise my children. And if their magic will get them hunted by people like you , then I will be glad to be rid of it “. I tried to sound as convincing as I could.

She looked back at Devon , I saw a flicker of something cross her face. She didn’t want to hurt him. In her own twisted way , she had become fond of him. ” No tricks ? ” she said ,looking back at us. ” I sense something amiss, I will fry him. ” I nodded and held my hands up in a surrender gesture. ” All we want is everyone here safe. Just promise to leave us be and we will not attempt anything “. She looked like she didn’t believe me , her eyes narrowed. I thought for a second I had blown it.

” Deal ” she says , I saw her mind ticking though. But all I needed was her to let go of him. Once she had, the b***h was dead. “OK , let us all close. So that we can send you our magic. I won’t have you brutally rip it out of us. We can be civil about this. ” Her l*p curled. ” If you try anything, ” I cut her off. ” We won’t. I promise I will even bring you this back. ” I flashed her the pendant that Devon must have ripped off before she got hold of him.

” They all stay back ” she looked at Enzo and my brother. I nodded , even though I felt Enzo’s displeasure through our link. She finally nodded , for the first time I saw her look unsure. She was all out of plans , that is why she had grabbed Devon in desperation. And she looked nervous because of that. I looked at the girls and slowly we all started to walk forward. When we did, two panthers ran at Enzo and Peter. Which confirmed she must have been keeping them back.

I looked back and gasped as one of them had Peter pinned to the floor. He had been unable to shift. I was about to turn to help him when she taunted me. ” Ah ah ah , this way or the deals off ” she says behind me, a sick evil tone to her voice. Luckily for me, Samueal came bolting over and knocked the panther off of Peter. When I saw the situation was being handled, I turned back around with a grin, and she looked dipleased that I didn’t have to make that choice anymore. ” As you say ” I provoked. She rolled her eyes , and me and the girls continued to make our way forward.

Her eyes never moved off of us as we got close. I slowly raised a hand to touch her and she flinched back. “What are you doing ? ” she snapped. I held my hand up in a surrender gesture again. ” We just need to put a hand on you , then I can say a spell that will transfer all of our magic to you. In a non-brutal manner. For you to do it , against us all, you would need to release Devon. He’s your leverage, so that we don’t do anything right ? “it was like talking to a skittish kid. I tried again to touch her and she moved back again. “NO ” she snapped. ” We do this my way , all of you go back ” she commanded. But I wasn’t about to do that. I wasn’t about to hesitate again or let her get away.

I was done playing her games , so I did the most human thing I could think of, something she wouldn’t have expected because this had always been a magical fight. And I swung at her , my fist connected with her face with a hard bone-crunching crack. She staggered back, her a*s hitting the floor, but the most important thing was her hands left Devon’s head with the shock of it. Grabbing him, I pushed him Violets’ way. ” Get him out of here ” I commanded her. Violet didn’t hesitate. The need to protect her mate was strong. She grabbed his arms and disappeared. I threw the pendant on the floor and stamped on it , and kept stamping on it until I heard it crack beneath my boot.

She looked up at me in fear , and tried crawling backwards. I knew what she would do next. It would be to disappear and run. She didn’t have her shiny toy protecting her now. So , I held a hand out and cast the immobilising spell. She fought , but with the strength of the strong little things inside of me helping, she froze. ” Link her ” I told them. ” But Violet has gone. Will it be enough ? “Shira asked. ” I’ve not gone. I’m here ” Violet said, appearing back behind us. ” Where’s Devon ? “I asked her. ” I threw him inside the pack house , under the protection of our spell. He wasn’t happy , she hadn’t compelled him. As soon as her hands came off him, he was back. I wouldn’t miss ending her. I wouldn’t leave you all here either “. I knew she had a lot riding on this; revenge for her brother, and paying justice for all the years of being trapped because of her.

I smiled at her and looked back at the still statue in front of us. “Do we really need to end it by over loading her ? Look at her, she is useless ? “I asked Sianna.” If you kill her the way you killed Firya, the magic she has taken will die with her. Overloading her will release all of the power she stole. She will release it , to try and save herself “, Sianna answered. I nodded in understanding and I cast the spell to link myself with her. One by one, all of the girls nodded to me and said it was done. “Let’s do this “, I said nervously.

I said the spell out loud and the girls copied it. This could all go wrong , but we had to believe that it would work. Bit by bit, I felt the thing inside of me that had become a comfort blanket , that had become apart of me. Even when the moon goddess had taken most of it , I still had some of it. A more comfortable amount if I was honest with myself. The more we gave her, the more she started to move. My magic was waining so I couldn’t keep her still.

She started to stand , a smug look on her face , she held her hands out by her sides and tilted her head back. Nothing was happening besides her looking more and more f*****g gleeful. Willow dropped to her knees at first looking weak and panting. She looked up looking worried and scared. She must have tapped out and given her everything. She glanced at me and I knew what she was thinking , it made my own nerves set in. Especially when Violet was the next to collapse , her legs going from under her. Yianna started to laugh , a loud ear-piercing cackle. ” Sianna ” I said, scared.

” Give her everything ” she shouted back at me. She knew I was holding back. Shira dropped to her hands and knees, breathing heavily with her head down. Yianna took her head back up and looked at me, her eyebrows raised. ” A deal is a deal ” she said, looking down at my stomach. She even knew I was holding back. Placing a hand on my stomach, I closed my eyes. ” Give it to her “, I spoke to them , because I wasn’t the only one stopping this. I felt them , it was weird and hard to explain, but it was like I felt their resistance too.

It came out of me in a gush , a child-like manner of an attitude that felt a lot like a child saying ‘fine ‘ with a sulk. Yianna gasped as it hit her. She stumbled back and I started to smile. This was it , it was happening. That was why we did that. All of us watching seemed to hold our breaths waiting for the grand finale. Images of what could happen flashed through my mind. Her head exploding like a part popper , or like in films, her whole body just going puff into millions of particals.

I felt like I was already celebrating in my head as I watched her stumble back some more steps. But it was short-lived. I watched in horror as she gained her composure. She looked down at her hands, she bunched them into fists and then stretched them back out. ” I have it ” she whispered, as if she didn’t quite believe it herself. I looked at the girls and they were all looking at each other. ” It isn’t working “, Willow shouted. Which caught Yianna’s attention. She raised her hand palm up in Willows’s direction and Willow lifted off of the ground and began to float. ” What didn’t work ? “she questioned her, bringing Willow closer. ” Answer me ” she said when Willow didn’t say anything. She balled her fist up and Willow started to scream ” Answer me ” she demanded. A screech from above told me Raan had heard his mate in pain. Yianna looked up and grinned sadistically , everything was about to go wrong. It didn’t work, and now I had nothing , nothing I could fight her with.
