Rejected Queen
Training

Ch 10

Tarnac pov

The weeks have gone by and the women have been training non stop. It has been hard since they have never trained before and have been very sore. So we’ve slowly built them into the training and have given days off to rest and recuperate. I never thought how behind the times we were until everything that has gone down in fact has.

Of those traitors that we had that were still here when we got back how would the women have defended themselves? The mates could have killed the women and children and that would have been on me and my hands. To leave pack members so unprepared and vulnerable only shows where my priorities were. I’ve wanted the best pack and thought I had it. Only to be shown I was in fact the weakest.

Now I sit at my desk going over the history of the pack from before I took over and I see that no one ever trained the females in the pack. I just don’t get it. Why would we never train them? What happened in the past to have us think they didn’t need to be trained? The records go back only so far but don’t see anything before that.

I don’t even know who would even be able to tell me. The records go back at least a hundred years but there’s no one alive from before then. So who could I even go to? Could the oracle tell me? Would they even know? Are they even that old? I don’t want to assume, but who would I even talk to? I decided to call Alpha Tristen to ask.

“Hey Tarnac, how can I help you?”

“Is the oracle still in your pack?”

“No she left a few hours ago saying she was needed over at another pack. She didn’t say what pack, but that she had to leave.”

“Shit, ok. I need to replace out the history of my pack. My records only go so far, but I need to know about them before that. We have never trained our women and want to know why.”

“If I hear or see her I’ll let her know you need her.”

“Ok thanks.”

I hang up the phone and wonder where she could have gone. There’s only so many packs around here. I get up and head down the hall to go outside and see how the training is going when I open the front door and I’m immediately startled. Standing right in front of me is the oracle.

“Well oracle, I guess you figured out that I needed you here?”

“Yes Alpha Tarnac. Please call me Anna.”

“Ok. So Anna, let’s take a walk because I need info if you are able to help me.”

“Yes I know. It’s about the history of your pack. I look older but I’m a lot older than you think.”

“Well I don’t want to be rude and assume.”

“You don’t have to worry, I’m proud of how I look for my age. I tell everyone I’m 67. Except if we want to be technical about it I’m 439 years old so I’ve seen a lot. I’ve seen the beginnings and ends of packs.”

“Ok, well to be honest I didn’t expect that answer. I also didn’t expect you to talk normally either. Tristen always said you talked in spurts and sometimes you didn’t make any sense.”

“Sometimes I like to mess around with people. After so long you have to replace your humor somewhere.”

“Ok so let’s sit here on this bench over here and hopefully you can tell me what I want to know.”

We make our way over when I see Trinity training and kicking the guards asses. I wasn’t worried about her. It was all the other women who have never had to raise a hand.

“So you want to know the history of your pack before the records start to be kept. There’s a reason why you cannot replace records before the 127 year mark going back. It’s because they were destroyed by that Alpha. He didn’t want anyone knowing the history before he took over. This pack wasn’t always run by males. It was run by females. The ancestors of Trinity and her mother before her going up the line were the real Alphas and leaders of packs. The Alpha didn’t believe in women running so he destroyed all the records. He had the idea that women were inferior to men and therefore belonged in the house making pups. When that was announced more than half the pack left. Of those that were left and stayed, that’s exactly what happened. Women went into the homes while only the men trained. If you ask Trinity’s mother where she was raised she will say here in the pack. Same with her mother and so one. Trinity’s position has been handed down for centuries. Just as it has now. This was the pack to hide in and they would be safe. So now that Trinity is in the position she is, don’t hold her back. This is the position they are supposed to be in to keep everything balanced. If you ask the other alphas they will say that even though they are alpha, the women run the show.”

“We still need to have the Luna ceremony. The full moon will be in a couple days. How will I get in touch with all the other packs?”

“You don’t need to. Trinity can send a message and they can all appear in a moment’s notice. It’s easier to drive and looks normal to outsiders. That’s how they hide who they are. They all know and the girls are all excited. She will be put back in the position she should have been in. When you look at the history of your pack. Do you know all the children that your grandfather had.”

“Well yes there was my father, and that was it.”

“Are you sure? You need to dig deep into the history because you will be surprised what name pops up.”

I just stare when she smiles and disappears. I sit for a moment later processing what she said when I jump up and bolt back to my office. When I enter I run around my desk and start tearing through papers when I look at the time that my father was born and grandfather was in the alpha position. I keep searching, not being able to replace anything. Flipping through pages of books when I get frustrated and slam the books down.

What the hell am I missing? There must be something going on that I’m not replaceing. I grab the books to set them aside when some papers fall out of the back that are all folded. I can see they have been torn out of a book and when I grab them I have hundreds of different thoughts running through my head on what could be on them.

I slowly unfold them and when I start reading I sit down in shock. My Grandfather had in fact two children, my father Denton, and another child. An older child, and as soon as I see the name my stomach turns. I stand up walking out of the office and mind link Misty to see where she is at. I make my way out to the training fields and when she sees me exit she can tell I’m not in the mood.

I motion for her to follow me and when we are far enough away I spin around and just stare down at her. I see her look around when I hand her the papers. I see her study them nodding and then hand them back.

“When were you going to tell me?”

“Alpha, I know what this looks like.”

“Damnit Misty, I’m tired on not knowing answer and making myself look like a fucking idiot. When were you going to tell me about Baphomet? When were you going to tell me the truth?”

“I’m sorry Alpha.”

“Misty! Why didn’t you say that Baphomet was my dad’s older brother. That he was supposed to be Alpha instead of my dad. Why was he passed up?”

“He made a deal with the devil. When he left me pupped he was taken out of the line, and the position fell to your dad. I was given a second chance mate. Then when he came back your dad was already in the position.”

“So now why is he back?”

“Because he wants the position that should have been his. We stopped him last time. This time I’m not in the position to stop him. Trinity is and that is why you have changed. Because he will come back to try and take it. Then if he succeeds I have a feeling that you know who he will stick on the throne.”

“Raston.”
