Remorse After Breaking Up (Sebastian) -
Chapter 560
Charles pointed at Esme and declared, "I want this woman as my princess consort, and I intend to enjoy her company tonight, over and over."
"No problem, I'll arrange a room immediately," Bartholomew said, turning to Esme. "You're the young lady of the Bailey family, aren't you? It's your good fortune that Prince Charles has taken an interest in you. Make sure you serve him well and keep him satisfied." Upon hearing this, Esme grew furious. "General Serpent, I respect you, but you can't force me to do something I hate."
Bartholomew's expression instantly darkened. "Ms. Bailey, this isn't a request. It's an order!"
"You don't have that authority!" Esme retorted.
"Insolent!" Bartholomew roared. "Ms. Bailey, do you realize what you're saying? One word from me, and your entire Bailey family will have nowhere to live!"
Esme's face paled. She was well aware of the seven-star general's power and his backing from the War Department. Dealing with a single family would be all too easy for him.
Sebastian's anger flared immediately. He coldly said, "As a seven-star general, your duty is to protect the country and its people. Yet here you are, oppressing your own countrymen and groveling to those Western Region mongrels. Do you deserve the title of seven-star general?"
Sebastian's words rang out clear and forceful, like a bell at dawn, prompting deep reflection.
However, Bartholomew flew into a rage. He whirled around to face Sebastian, emanating a terrifying killing intent.
"You dare call me a bootlicker and insult Prince Charles? You've got some nerve!"
The crowd looked at Sebastian as if he were already dead. Offending the Strauss family and Charles was one thing, but even they, bold as they might be, wouldn't dare to kill someone in front of so many witnesses.
Sebastian's insult to Bartholomew was far more serious. Even if Bartholomew killed him with a single slap, no one would dare object.
Sebastian gave a cold smirk. "I'm just telling the truth. If anyone's got nerve, it's you!"
"You're asking for it!" Bartholomew clenched his fists, fighting the urge to punch Sebastian's lights out.
However, as he was in public, he restrained himself.
Nonetheless, Charles grew impatient. "General Serpent, if you can't even control this nobody, you're just a useless coward!"
Most generals would have been
enraged by such words, but Bartholomew was far from angry. He continued to plaster on an
ingratiating smile. "You're right net
scold me, Prince Charles. I'll deal with him right away."
"Hurry up! I want him kneeling before me, barking like a dog!" Charles snapped.
"Of course, no problem." Bartholomew bowed and scraped, his face full of fawning adoration, acting like a complete lapdog.
This display disgusted not only
Sebastian, Rainey, and Esme, but everyone else as well. To see a seven-star general acting this way to a minor prince, without a shred of dignity, brought shame to alb Dragothians.
Bartholomew felt no shame, for he was a coward at heart and believed this was how things should be.
He turned to Sebastian, his eyes
murderous. "Didn't you hear Prin Charles? Get over there, kneel down, and bark like a dog until he'so satisfied!"
Sebastian gave a mocking smile. "I won't stop you from licking these Western Region barbarians' stinking feet, but don't drag me into it." "You son of a bitch! You're dead!"
