Return Of The Prodigy
Return of the Prodigy Chapter 117

Alameda County, in the capital.

In a huge commercial center in the Central District, Piedmont Plastic Surgery & Dermatology occupied three whole floors.

At this moment, in an all-white room, a female doctor put down the forceps, catgut, and scissors in her hands. Another female doctor immediately approached with gauze for wrapping.

After a moment, the two doctors stepped aside and said, "Medusa, the wound has been stitched up."

The woman on the sickbed, upon hearing this, sat up. She was only wearing a black underwear, revealing her proud figure with flawless, white skin. However, at this moment, her abdomen was wrapped in two layers of gauze, there were wounds on the outer side of her thighs, and bruises on her legs.

But these were not important. What mattered was that she remained expressionless, moved freely, and astonishingly, she hadn't received anesthesia during the surgery!

The woman took the silk nightgown handed over by the assistant and, in an instant, covered herself entirely. Calmly, she pushed open a door and walked in.

"Any news?" the woman asked as she walked.

The assistant shook her head.

The woman sighed and instructed, "Notify all the girls. Be careful when going on missions recently. Those scorpions are going crazy."

"Medusa..." the assistant hesitated.

"Speak if you have something to say."

Her assistant lowered her head and said, "Recently, all of our targets were snatched away, and several of our sisters ended up being injured, even you. As both our organizations operate in the same field, perhaps if you were to accept Scorpio's request, your identity wouldn't be exposed. Once our organizations are joined, there would be a lot of benefits and almost no downside."

The woman's gaze turned icy. "You talk too much."

The assistant immediately shut her mouth, afraid to speak again.

At this moment, another woman knocked on the door and walked in.

"Medusa, there's a mission in Lisle, and the time requirement is very tight, only 24 hours."

The woman frowned slightly and said, "Let Green Snake handle it. If there's nothing else, you all can go busy yourselves." The two subordinates retreated.

The woman stood by the window, looking at the countless prosperity outside, her eyes revealing deep sadness.

"Six years, you stinky brat, where have you hidden? I have been searching for you so hard."

"But it's better if you hide well. If sister can't replace you, others won't either."

"However, I really miss you..."

The woman murmured softly, her words filled with seemingly eternal yearning and heartache!

...

In Lisle, the next day, Monday, a new day began. Early in the morning, Katie rushed to the company, while Adam took Annie to school.

Upon arriving at the company, Katie noticed that the atmosphere in the office was not right. Many colleagues were whispering and discussing, but they immediately stopped talking when they saw her, pretending to be diligently working. Katie frowned but didn't take it seriously, walking into her own office area.

As soon as she entered, her assistant Jenny approached her excitedly, saying, "Katie, do you know?"

Katie looked confused .Katie shook her head. She did not have access to most of the company's internal information as Peter had made sure to keep her isolated.

Jenny blinked, "Haha, since you don't know, let me tell you. Just this morning, the chairman of the company personally issued a notice. From now on, you will be in charge of everything at the holiday resort, and all departments must cooperate fully." "Didn't I just prepare the contracts that needed payment? I was about to hand them over to the finance department."

"And, and, Daniel's position in the company has been suspended, and even Matilda has been suspended."

Katie was stunned by one piece of good news after another.

"What? Are you kidding?" Katie said incredulously. The grandfather issued the notice personally? All departments were to cooperate with her? Moreover, Daniel was expelled, and even Matilda was suspended. "You don't believe it? Let me show you the notice." Jenny immediately brought up the company email.

Katie took a closer look, and it was indeed true.

For a moment, Katie felt like she was dreaming.

"Katie, I think we're finally turning the tide," Jenny said happily.

Katie forced a smile, feeling that something was off. She had never seen her grandfather consider her before. Could it be that he suddenly had a change of heart because of what happened the day before? She hoped so. Not dwelling on it any longer, Katie went to her seat and started working.

Suddenly, she thought of something and asked, "Did the Ranne and Emma come?"

Jenny nodded, "Yes, they came early. They just went out to discuss contracts."

Katie thought to herself that it was okay.

Time passed quickly, and it was already afternoon. At the hotel:

In the luxurious suite. Mr. Greed groggily opened his eyes, lifted the woman lying on him, and leaned against the bed to light a cigarette.

Blowing smoke rings, he picked up his phone and checked the time.

Three in the afternoon.

"Almost time."

Mr. Greed muttered to himself and began dialing a number.

"Have you arranged the people you invited?"

"What? Paul Booker refuses to come? He says he doesn't know Mr. Morales?"

"Heh, quite arrogant. A small third-tier city thug, daring to disrespect Mr. Morales of the Alameda's capital?"

"Fine, I'll go see him in person. It's just right to settle both new and old scores. Killing two birds with one stone!"
