Right after Dora took off, it was just Morris and Cherise again.

"Cherise, let's roll!" Morris said, his voice tinged with urgency.

Cherise nodded, and they made their way to the elevator, which whisked them down to the lobby, Out front, the valet had Cherise's Porsche Panamera waiting, parked curbside. Morris gave Cherise's new ride a once-over. It was a nice car, but could use some personal flair. He decided then and there to get her a custom job later on, for safety reasons. Jingling the keys, Cherise offered, "Want me to drive?"

Morris flashed her a warm smile and said, "You take the helm. And with that, they got into the car.

Cherise started the engine, released the electronic brake, and smoothly shifted into gear. With a series of swift moves, the car hummed to life and eased away from the curb. Melissa, just stepping out of the lobby, spotted the Porsche Panamera as it pulled away. She hesitated, thinking. Is that Morris! That profile looks just like him. No, it can't be

She shook her head, brushing off the thought. No way that's Morris. And the driver's a woman. That's a sure sigu. I must be going crazy with all this stress, she pondered.

In the car, Morris watched Cherise expertly maneuver through traffic, a grin playing on his lips. This was a new one for him -being driven by a girl, and he had to admit that it was pretty cool. y to replace out that his own daughter, the one he'd left on her own in Yasvissa, was such an amazing

With a humble smile, she replied, "It's just a car. Nothing to write home about. Mr. Chivers, you'll have to deal with it." Morris turned to her, and a soft laugh escaped him. Cherise drove with speed and precision, and in the blink of an eye, they were at Glenshire Gardens. After parking, they took the levator up to the 26th floor.

In front of the mirror, she added a playful touch with daisy-shaped earrings and kept on her reliable white canvas sneakers. Armed with the pills she'd whipped up a few days ago, she set off from Glenshire Gardens.

Zell, the security guard at the Taylor residence, brightened at the sight of Cherise's car. He quickly opened the gate, his voice filling the air "Ms. Leach, it's you!"

As Cherise parked and stepped out, Lucky, a huge Alaskan Malamute, came bounding over. The dog paused by Cherise's side, mudging her dress affectionately.

Zell chimed in. "Ms. Leach, when you first went back to Saphira Lucky here was lost without you. He wouldn't eat a thing."

"Mr. Taylor had to show him your picture to get him to nibble at all. But he's back to her old self now and grown from that tiny pup into this gentle giant, almost as tall as me," Zell added. Hearing that, Cherise hummed with a warmth spreading through her.

"I'm getting on in years, my dear. If I don't keep moving, these old legs will seize up on me. In a few more years, you youngsters will be complaining about us old-timers slowing you down," Marlon jested, leading the way back into the house. SEND GIFT
