Revenge is Best Served After Reborn (James) -
Chapter 1118
The call ended abruptly, and Timothy took a deep breath to steady himself.
It was just a woman, yet he found himself putting so much effort into this situation.
Fine, he thought, he would play along with Sophie's game.
For lunch, Timothy whipped up a lavish meal, the table covered with an array of exquisite dishes. Angelo had never experienced such a feast, even during his time with the Pollard family.
To think that Odie indulged in such luxury daily, having eighteen different dishes for lunch alone.
The guy lived like an emperor.
In contrast...
Angelo shook his head, resigned.
Being a son of the Pollard family, his meals had been far more modest.
At that moment, Angelo looked up and saw Timothy fussing over the plates.
Timothy's earnest expression and meticulous spirit earned Angelo's admiration.
Couldn't the kid see that Sophie was just toying with him?
Youth, always so transparently naive!
Soon, Sophie was helping Colby downstairs, while Odie and Jonah also made their way down from the other side.
Upon seeing Colby, Timothy couldn't help but scrutinize the legendary figure from abroad, but he quickly averted his gaze. Sophie remarked, "Well, the dinner looks splendid."
"Thank you for your kind words, Ms. Sophie. I'll get back to cleaning now."
Timothy didn't even seek a word of praise from Sophie and obediently returned to the kitchen to tidy up.
Angelo was taken aback and said, "Ms. Sophie, he's still a minor, and you're treating him like hired help. That's pretty heartless!" Angelo couldn't stand it.
Such a nice kid! Why did he end up as a mere helper around Sophie?
"Mr. Angelo, focus on your meal and mind your own business."
While serving Colby, Sophie kept an eye on Timothy in the kitchen.
She had deliberately come down for a meal with Colby to observe Timothy's reactions.
Yet, the kid didn't give anything away.
Either he was hiding his feelings well, or he was genuinely clueless.
After all she had experienced, Sophie wasn't about to easily believe Timothy was a naive youth.
She deliberately nitpicked, "The soup is too bland, the presentation of the dishes could be better, and the stew needed more cooking."
Odie glanced at Sophie, "What's with all the demands? If you don't like the meal, I can have my chef come back."
He was used to the meals prepared by his family's chef and couldn't stomach food made by anyone else.
Watching Sophie feed Colby, Odie rolled his eyes secretly and then slammed his chopsticks down, "I can't eat this, I'm out."
"Hey, hey,
that? Fou're leaving just like
it's
ven if it doesn't taste great
the thought that counts! You're not giving him any face,"
Sandy nudged Angelo and whispered, "Enough, don't say more." Sophie tilted her head to Colby, "Doesn't taste good, does it?" "Everything you feed me tastes good, I'm not picky." "That won't do. If you can stomach it, I can't."
Looking at the spread on the table, Sophie called out to Timothy in the kitchen These dishes don't suit our taste, Timothy, you must have been used to having everything handed to you at home, right?"
Timothy emerged from the kitchen, head bowed, resembling a wounded animal, and said, "...I'm trying to learn."
"My trial period is only three days,
and after that, we'll be returning to Devonport. So, Timothy, if you can't
learn, you'll have no future with e
Corporation."
