Hearing that Sophie and Colby would be heading back to Devonport in three days, Timothy's eyes flickered with a hint of something. Noticing his reaction, Sophie grabbed Colby's hand and said, "Colby, let's go upstairs and order some takeout."

"Okay."

Colby obediently followed Sophie upstairs.

Angelo, convinced the meal couldn't be that bad, took a bite.

The earthy fishiness exploded in his mouth. He grimaced, feeling the fish scales still dancing on his tongue.

"...Honestly, what you cooked is... ugh, pretty good... ugh! Keep at it... ugh! I need to go upstairs!"

Covering his mouth, Angelo ran upstairs.

Sophie's earlier descriptions had already been quite diplomatic.

Who would've thought such a fancy-looking lunch could taste so awful!

"Brother! Wait for me!" Sandy dropped her fork and chased after him.

Timothy approached the meal he had prepared, his face emotionless, and dumped each dish into the trash.

Three days...

It seemed he indeed needed to pick up the pace.

In the afternoon, an invitation was delivered to the Minton family's villa.

When Jonah handed the invitation to Odie, he barely glanced at it before saying, "Since when do these little parties invite me? I'm not going." "Boss, the invitation... it's not for you."

Odie frowned and finally took a closer look at the invitation. Sure enough, it was addressed to Sophie.

Seeing her name annoyed him, and he tossed the invitation aside. "Why bother me with Sophie's invite? Just give it to her."

"...Boss, didn't you say to inform you about anything related to Ms. Sophie first?"

Odie frowned deeper. "Did I say that?"

bet

"Even if I did, why tell me about women attending dinners? This one looks shady; Sophie won't go. Just givect to her. Whether she goes or not doesn't concern me."

"... Yes, boss."

Jonah then handed the invitation over to Sophie.

In her room, Sophie looked at the invitation and said, "Why not go?"

Jonah: "..."

Sophie continued, "Staying cooped up in the Minton family's villa is stifling. Besides, we're leaving in three days, so why not have some fun?"

Colby, leaning against the bed, said, "Okay, whatever you say."

Jonah didn't bother arguing and left.

It was obvious the dinner was fishy, but if Sophie wanted to go, so be it. If anything happened to her, it would be one less problem for their boss.

In the room, Colby asked Sophie, "You deliberately told Timothy about leaving Summerfield in three days, didn't you? To push him into action sooner?" "Mm-hmm."

Holding the invitation, Sophie said,

"It's a fashion dinner hosted by the Summerfield socialite circle. It's pretty influential. Only the most prestigious and vetted ladies get invited. Going is a big deal for them, and no girl would turn it down. Timothy really knows how to play to a woman's heart."

"There will be dangers at the dinner."

"Not worried. Summerfield is Odie's territory. If I give Odie a heads-up nothing will happen to me. Besides, Odie wouldn't dare let anything happen to me."
