It's a good thing she got out early, or who knows what would've happened.

"You're amazing! How did you know Vanessa was gunning for you?"

"Come on, don't you see this white dress I'm wearing?"

Sophie dropped her voice, pulling Sandy into a corner. "This place isn't safe. Sooner or later, they'll replace us. Here's what you need to do."

"What are we supposed to do?"

Sandy was scared, not quite getting what Sophie was hinting at.

Sophie quickly laid out her plan: "First, take off your high heels to save your energy. Second, the second floor is the safest place. Run there and replace a spot to hide. Those hunters won't get too close. Third, if any of the other socialites spot you, team up with them. Tell them you're in on catching me."

"How can I do that?"

"Right now, everyone's out to capture me alive. If you're the odd one out, they'll think you're a traitor and hand you over to the hunters. You'd be toast."

Sophie took a breath and continued, "Vanessa wouldn't do something like this unless she wasn't planning on making it out alive. She says we just need to survive for three hours, but in reality, after three hours, we're all toast! This is a deadly game, and she won't spare any of us. So, our goal isn't to run. We need to take down the leader first!"

Sandy finally clicked.

Vanessa was this crazy?

Seeing Sophie about to step out from behind the curtain, Sandy quickly grabbed her. "Where are you going?"

"Obviously, I'm going to distract them so you can make a run for it to the second floor."

"What about you? That white dress is like a beacon. You'll definitely get noticed. How will you escape? And running in that dress..."

Before Sandy could finish, Sophie tore a big slit in her dress.

Sandy was stunned.

"Remember what I said, staying alive is the priority."

...Okay."

Sophie had timed it perfectly. Vanessa's people should've been intercepted outside the hotel.

She noticed the Minton family's people checking the outside, but the venue was mainly set up by the Gibbs family.

Daniel must've known what Vanessa was up to, but he didn't tip off Odie.

Earlier, Vanessa said she'd spend her entire fortune on this trap. She probably wasn't talking about. venue costs. Maybe she had

The latter seemed more likely.

With Vanessa's status, she couldn't have pulled off such a massive scheme on her own.

If Odie's people were outside, they'd definitely burst in if nothing happened inside after three hours.

Daniel was a flip-flopper. If he saw

So, she had to hold on until the third hour, to last until the end.

In the meantime, it was best to create a big enough ruckus to alert Odie's people outside. "Where's Sophie?!"

A woman's scream snapped Sophie out of her thoughts.

Soon, the hunters emerged from one side of the first floor.
