Revenge is Best Served After Reborn (James) -
Chapter 1200
"Let him go," Sophie said, her voice steady. "But if that person could reach out to you, it won't just be once or twice. You'll keep in touch, right?"
At this, everyone's eyes turned to Griffin as Sophie continued, "The next time he contacts you, I want to know the time and place of your meeting. If it's online, I need a video recording. Griffin, any objections?"
Griffin glanced up at Sophie, realizing she planned to use him as bait. Even though Sophie had let them go, the person behind the scenes would surely contact him again, making sure Sophie stayed in the dark about his identity. Typical of Colby's woman, always thinking things through so thoroughly.
"Fine, I agree, but I have one condition," Griffin replied.
"Your lives are in my hands right now; you're in no position to negotiate," Sophie shot back, her tone icy.
She never showed mercy to enemies who threatened her life, only sparing those who still had some use to her.
Hearing Sophie's words, Griffin just pressed his lips together. Then, struggling to his feet, he stepped closer to Sophie and knelt down again. "Ms. Sophie, I beg you. Yet, in this world, how many struggle to live without dignity?
Once, they were children from slums overseas, sacrificing their dignity just for a meal.
Years later, they had the means to protect themselves.
But in a life-or-death situation, their only choice was to forsake their dignity.
"Fine, state your condition. If I replace it reasonable, I'll agree," Sophie said calmly.
Griffin spoke, "No matter what happens in the future, protect Elodie for me. As long as you can do that, I'm willing to use my life as bait to draw him out."
Upon hearing this, Jenna glanced at Sophie, but Elodie cut in coldly, "Griffin don't flatter yourself. You don't need to protect me. You're just being wishful, and I certainly won't appreciate it."
"I don't need your appreciation," Griffin Looked up at Sophie and said, "This is my only request. If agree, then my life is

Sophie looked indifferently at Griffin and said, "Griffin, is your life really that insignificant to you?"
"Life is cheap; that's just how it is. Thank you, Ms. Sophie, for indulging me."
Griffin bowed his head again, but then a cold sneer came from behind, "Such a cheap life, indeed."
