Chapter 0295
The room smelled pleasant, but I nearly suffocated. Nicholas’s grip around. me was so tight that I was becoming breathless.
“Let me go…” I murmured, yet he remained unmoved. “I don’t know ho ou feel about me now, but we don’t stand a chance anymore.”
Nicholas stiffened. However, he continued to hold me tightly and refused to release me, seemingly unfazed by what said. He was always so immersed in his own world and indifferent to others‘ emotions.
“Stop spying on me. My affairs have nothing to do with you. If something really happens to me, Douglas will call the police-
“If calling the police was useful, would Douglas have contacted me? Do you think I’m so free that I’m spying on you every single day? You’re kidding.” Nicholas blurted out.
He inhaled sharply, his tone growing impatient as he continued, “I’ve meddled too much. So, I should just watch you get into trouble, right?”
My head throbbed in pain. I had decided to separate from him, but for some reason, it seemed impossible to completely sever ties with him.
No longer wanting to hear any more of his wavering words, I shoved him. away. “Leave!”
He staggered, his steps instinctively retreating toward the door. Seeing this, I mustered all my strength and pushed him a few times again.
Anger boiled over me. “Nicholas, it’s pointless to keep pestering me. You’ve got so many women, so losing me isn’t a big deal. Don’t ever appear in front of me again. My mood is ruined whenever I see you, and I even feel a bit nauseous!”
Bracing himself against the door frame, Nicholas looked hurt as he gritted out, “You’re one heartless woman.”
I met his gaze and admitted inwardly that I had long lost my feelings for him.

“Or shall I keep you here and treat you to a meal to repay you?” I said sarcastically, smiling.
“If you really have a sense of conscience, we wouldn’t have-”
I interrupted him before he could finish. “I don’t have a conscience. Just leave. I’m feeling very dizzy right now, and I need some time alone.”
I cursed under his
Nicholas stared at me intently for two seconds breath, but I didn’t catch it. The next thing I knew, he had grabbed my wrist and scooped me into his arms.
Pounding his chest with my fists, I hollered, “You’re insane! Put me down. Where are you taking me?”
“You must’ve been drugged to the point that you’ve become a fool. How can you not go to the hospital when you’re feeling dizzy? Quit your nonsense!”
As he spoke, he strode briskly toward the elevator.
Staring at our reflection on the polished elevator walls, I felt a sting in my nose. We still looked the same, but we were no longer the same people we
were.
once were.
Who could understand how I felt when I reminisced about our past through our reflection? My tears fell involuntarily, and I started hitting him harder.
“I can go to the hospital by myself–I can go anywhere else on my own! My life isn’t affected by your absence at all. You’re not as important as your thought, so stop getting yourself involved in my life!
“We’re divorced, do you understand? Divorced! How else should I explain it to you? It means I don’t need to see you anymore, nor do I need any of your kindness!
“This is too much for me to handle, Nicholas! Do you understand?”
There was a stark contrast between my agitated self and his calm demeanor.
He closed his eyes. When he opened them again, he seemed to have

suppressed his anguish. “just want to take you to the bosoba
“I don’t need you to I said firmy.
He put me down and said, ‘Fine then. I’ll leave.”
When the elevator arrived, he stepped inside. He turned around scade as
the doors closed.
I was also about to leave when I suddenly saw his eyes widen. Notong his strange expression, I realized my scarf had fallen to the ground at some point.
The elevator doors opened again as he squeezed through them and darted toward me. Grabbing my shoulders, he quavered, “How did you get hurt?
