Salute To The General -
Chapter 3494 Gryffen Killed In A Duel
All elite Gods, including God King, had their eyes fixed on Helios.
They were all waiting for the man to tell them a tragic yet grand heroic tale.
However, Helios remained kneeling on the ground with his head hung low and sweat dotting his face. He stuttered, struggling to formulate his words.
In an instant, everyone started frowning.
Even Medille, who sat on the throne, urged in dissatisfaction, "Go ahead and tell us about it, Lios." Feeling incredibly awkward, Helios lifted his head and asked timidly, "What... What to tell?"
"Naturally, you're to tell us about how many human elites Nathan gathered, how they besieged Gryffen, how Gryffen fought against the odds, and the number of humans he killed until their blood flowed like a river before he finally died tragically at the hands of Nathan," Medille said in displeasure.
Helios bit his lip, cautiously replying, "Actually, Your Majesty, Nathan didn't use the human wave attack or any underhanded methods. He merely had a one-on-one duel with Lord Gryffen. Then, Lord Gryffen was defeated, and his head severed."
What? Nathan defeated and slew Gryffen in a one-on-one duel? How... How could that be possible?
Helios' words were a bucket of cold water to a sizzling hot pan, causing an immediate uproar among those present.
In the eyes of Gods, they were the strongest beings in the universe.
After the vampires living in Divine Realm were enslaved by Gods, they rebelled and escaped to Earth. Their descendants thrived on Earth, using human blood as food and making themselves a domineering existence on that planet. To Gods, they considered themselves superior to vampires and vampires superior to humans.
Gryffen was indeed an elite among the vampires. Logically speaking, no one on Earth could compete with him.
They initially thought that Gryffen's demise on Earth was due to unfair treatment, killed by Nathan with a human wave attack.
Yet, they were suddenly told that Nathan had a one-on-one duel with Gryffen and honorably slew the man.
The worldview of the elite Gods promptly collapsed.
Everyone's expressions changed drastically, and they all exclaimed in shock, "That's impossible! It can't be possible!"
The chamberlain present was initially prepared to document the heroic tale of Gryffen's noble sacrifice but was also stupefied to hear that Gryffen was slain in a one-on-one duel with Nathan.
How am I supposed to document this? Gah! There's nothing heroic here. If someone got killed in a one-on-one duel, it simply means he was beneath his opponent. What's there to document about that? God King, Medille, was also greatly astonished.
He quickly regained his composure, his voice icy as he said, "Are you sure about what you just said, Lios? You must take responsibility for your words. Did you personally see Nathan dueling with Gryffen one-on-one before killing him?"
Helios quickly said, "I personally saw
Nathan dueling with Lord Gryffen
one-on-one. No one interfered in their duel. However, I didn't actually witness how Nathan managed to slay Lord Gryffen. As they battled, they gradually moved further away and eventually disappeared from our sight. When we arrived at the scene, Lord Gryffen was already dead, and Nathan was the only one there. Therefore, I'm convinced that it must have been Nathan who
single-handedly killed Lord Gryffen."
No sooner had his words rang out than the War God at the side roared
your own eyes! That means
furiously, "So, you didn't see net
Gryffer's cause of death is
unknown. We can't rule out the possibility that Nathan used despicable means."
At that, words eluded Helios.
"Hold your horses, Revent," Medille interjected.
Only then did the anger of the War God known as Revent subsided slightly. But still, he glared at Helios.
It was clear as day that he did not believe that Nathan defeated Gryffen in a fair duel.
Medille looked down at Helios and asked slowly, "What happened after Nathan killed Gryffen?"
With his face lined with sorrow,
Helios answered, "We were indignant upon seeing that Lord Gryffen had been killed and recklessly charged forward to fight Nathan to the death. But the man has many allies. We were no match for them and ended up dying in battle or being captured. Mila and others are still trapped on Earth, locked up by Nathan."
"Mila's capabilities surpass yours, yet she didn't manage to escape. How were you able to do so?" Medille asked coldly.
"I didn't escape, Your Majesty. Nathan deliberately let me go, asking me to deliver a message to you," Helios replied honestly.
At that moment, Medille and the others finally understood the entire matter.
It turned out that Helios was sent back by Nathan. That revelation left them both shocked and angry.
