Chapter 15

“She’s still a young girl, so please cut her some slack and help her out,” said team leader Gerard with a laugh.

Becky noticed that some of the people present were initially smiling, but after hearing that sentence, a few couldn’t control their facial expressions.

As for Rocky, he was sitting in the office, staring blankly at Becky’s manuscript.

These sketches were really smooth and creative. They were daring and innovative while still holding onto that old–school mysterious vibe.

Every piece made him feel quite familiar, but he didn’t know where the familiarity came from.

Although it was not known why Sigmund rejected her so quickly, it was undeniable that Rocky did want to win over Becky and keep her in the company.

With the joining of Becky, everyone in the group was curious and gathered around to see her manuscript. After a brief meeting, they started discussing what to do next.

“The company we’re partnering with this time is Starry Group. They reached out to us. We have to be extra careful when dealing with international collaborations, so let’s all be on our A game. I hope everyone will be vigilant and take it seriously,” said Gerard.

When he finished speaking, Becky was a little stunned.

She was not unfamiliar with Starry Group, as it was the company where she used to work before.

Everything was very good, whether the treatment or the other aspects. As for why she didn’t stay….

“Is it actually Starry Group?”

Someone in the group exclaimed.

Starry Group was a well–known presence in this industry. Even though it was a foreign design company, so many rich folks were dying to have the company customize stuff for them, and there was an endless waitlist.

Their design philosophy is all about the “soul.”

The brand could achieve a dual effect of surface and meaning, giving each work the most direct and emotional impact.

Starry Group didn’t really do collaborations with outside companies. Their designers, both internal and external, were so talented that any one of them could easily be fought over by major corporations.

* Just when everyone was curious about what this cooperation was all about, Gerard began to explain

it carefully.

Chapter 15

“This collaboration took a long time to come together. Starry Group agreed to work with us after reviewing everyone’s drafts and eventually selecting a designer to work with us.”

But in recent years, Starry Group’s proudest designer left, and their previous designs had slowly been taken down and faded from everyone’s view,

Although there were many subsequent works, there would still be voices of missing that designer.

“What a pity. If Polaris were still there, we could have met and worked with her this time, right?” said someone.

The speaker was a little girl, her eyes full of disappointment.

To be honest, I came here because of her. Her designs are just so beautiful and can touch the soul. They really hit you right in the feels.”

Becky glanced over with a momentary excitement in her beautiful eyes.

“Do you know about Polaris, Becky? She used to work at Starry Group and was a brilliant designer!”

Lindsay Newman talked to Becky as she pulled Becky over.

“It’s such a pity. She could have continued to achieve great things but somehow withdrew from the industry. There has been no news from her in these years, and I heard she has already left the design industry. She was such a talented person…” she added.

Before Becky could even speak, someone beside her took the initiative to mock her.

“She’s just an undergraduate. Lindsay, you’re telling her things that she might not even understand.”

The one who spoke up was a man standing in the corner. The disdainful expression on his face was obvious, which caused everyone’s expression to change a bit.

“An undergraduate like her never had any practical experience outside of college. As the team. leader just mentioned, this project is of great importance. It wouldn’t be good just casually to add a young girl to the team, would it?”

If it were some famous designer, he could overlook these things, but it happened to be a little girl who was nothing.

After looking at the resume, he found that Becky hadn’t even graduated from college yet.

Besides, this project was something everyone had been wanting. If there were any mistakes or problems this time, Starry Group would stop the cooperation, and other companies would cut ties with them too. How could they take such a risk?

At first, everyone was standing there without saying anything. But when Ned Gill spoke, everyone quieted down and stared at Becky.

At first, everyone tacitly remained silent. It wasn’t explicitly said, but now it had been made clear. So, everyone just gave up the pretense.

Chapter 15

Gerard’s face didn’t look very happy either. At first, he also felt that it was not good, but Becky was personally arranged by Rocky. So what could he do?

Just as everyone stared intently at Becky, she finally prepared to speak.

“I…”

“This is someone sent in by higher–ups. Those who are young but talented can naturally stay. If you have any objections, go talk to Mr. Bradley yourself!”

Gerard’s words silenced them, but their gaze toward Becky also changed, some with scrutiny and some with disdain.

Becky didn’t care much because there was no need for it.

After determining her own job, Becky sat in her seat and began to think about how to formulate the first draft.

The concept this time was “everlasting love.”

Thinking about this concept, she recalled the years she had spent deeply in love with Sigmund.

“Is this supposed to be an everlasting love or something?” she wondered.

A soft chuckle escaped her mouth.

“Well, that’s not entirely correct, actually.

“Because I have already changed,” said she inwardly.

As she was lost in thought about these things, Ned happened to pass by her.

He casually glanced at Becky’s manuscript and realized there was a blank expanse with no trace of sketches.

This made Ned even more disdainful of Becky.

“It’s all nonsense to say that she’s young yet with great abilities! Clearly, this little girl doesn’t know anything, and now she’s even at a loss for what to do,” thought he.

His laughter brought back Becky’s drifting thoughts.

She turned her head to look at the source of the sound but could only see Ned’s gradually leaving

back.

There were no disturbances in Becky’s heart.

She had faced too many doubts. One more wouldn’t make a difference.

Moreover, she had no intention of staying for long. There was no need to care about people not worth caring about because of temporary work.

After the internship period ended, she would immediately leave..
