Chapter 16
Becky didn’t know that Ned had already entered the break room and was commenting with his colleagues on everything she had done.
“Ned, I heard that your group got the project with Starry Group. Congratulations!”
Andy Moore got a cup of coffee and joked with Ned about the latest happenings.
“Don’t you say that! I’m still mad that a college student was suddenly shoved into our group today.”
“What’s going on?”
Ned told Andy aptly and quickly about what happened in the afternoon and didn’t forget to add fuel to the fire to make Becky appear guilty.
“I told you that Becky was connected. In order to make us accept her to join, Mr. Munoz said that Becky was someone Mr. Bradley thought highly of. I wonder if the two of them have an affair.”
As soon as Sigmund arrived, he heard such an explosive conversation that he unconsciously stopped in his tracks.
At first, Marsh didn’t know what was going on, but he broke out in a cold sweat after hearing this.
Ned and Andy were really brave. It was bold of them to talk about such a thing here. But Mr. Moolery usually did not like gossip, and he would not just come over just to inspect. But…
But Sigmund had changed a much lately because of Becky.
“Stop it! If someone hears this, you’re done!”
Andy looked at Ned and lowered his voice to warn Ned.
He had not forgotten the young girl who had been fired for talking nonsense in the company.
“What if it’s true? What are you afraid of? I’m really pissed off. I saw her draft just now. She doesn’t know anything at all. She only stays in her seat, looking daze.”
Ned replied, disgruntled, “If this project is ruined because of that college student, everyone’s time and
energy spent together will be wasted!
“Rocky is so partial to Becky. She just came here as an intern, but she’s working on a big project with Starry Group. Who would believe that she’s not having an affair with Rocky?”
Because of his anger, Ned spitted out these words as if he was almost yelling.
Naturally, the conversation fell into Sigmund’s ears.
Sigmund’s face was suddenly icy. Marsh, who was by his side, was very nervous and wanted to sew Ned’s mouth shut.
Chapter 16
Sigmund turned back to Marsh and gave him a look. Marsh understood and immediately walked
out.
“Which department are you from? Do you still have time to chat and have coffee here during working hours? Since you are so idle, should I report to Mr. Moolery and ask him to give you a few years of long leave so that you can come back to work after you have chatted enough?”
Hearing that from Marsh, Ned and Andy looked embarrassed and immediately walked out.
Facing Sigmund’s cold gaze, Ned and Andy’s blood froze.
Seeing that Sigmund did not say anything, the two left in a hurry.
Sigmund watched the two leave, thinking about their conversation regarding Becky as his black eyes turned cold and hostile.
“Pay more attention to the break room in the future. I don’t want to hear any non–work related conversations when I pass by next time.”
With these words, Sigmund took the elevator and left the seventh floor.
Back in his office, with the conversation between Ned and Andy still in his mind, Sigmund sank his face.
The night before at the party, Becky had fallen out with him in public.
He could let that go for now, but what was going on between her and Rocky?
He saw Rocky cherish her so much last time and even voice out his intention to keep Becky. It seemed that Rocky was indeed very protective of Becky.
Sigmund almost did not even think about it and called Becky on the phone.
Seeing Sigmund’s name flashing up on the phone screen, Becky raised her eyebrows. Even if she was surprised, she did not want to answer it. After a casual glance, she directly flipped her phone
over.
Sigmund dialed her number again since Becky ignored his call. His patience was on the limit after the second call was still unanswered.
He then called the design department, instructing Becky to come to the president’s office. immediately.
Gerard carefully pondered the tone of Sigmund’s voice and felt that something was not right.
Usually, Marsh was the one to inform this kind of situation. But it was actually Mr. Moolery himself this time. Could it be that Becky was really connected?
When Gerard came over, Becky was drawing a draft.
Her first drafts were always messy and random, with layers of ideas. They were clearly in Becky’s

eyes, but when others saw them, they would give a bad impression. But Gerard was still taken aback when he saw those drafts.
It was indeed the first time he had seen such messy lines.
He wondered if Becky was an abstractionist.
“Becky. Mr. Moolery asked you to come to his office.”
Becky didn’t know what happened.
What was Sigmund trying to do?
Perhaps Gerard thought Sigmund had a bad temper, so he even reminded Becky, “Mr. Moolery is somewhat straightforward. Don’t mind if he speaks a bit harshly. Hurry up and take the elevator. It’s on the top floor.”
Becky responded and didn’t forget to save her draft before leaving.
Gerard’s mouth twitched as he watched her save her draft. Although he felt that Becky didn’t need to save her draft, he didn’t say it.
When the elevator finally came to the top floor, Becky knocked on Sigmund’s door.
Sigmund’s cold voice came through from inside. “Come in.”
Becky pushed the door open and walked in.
Sigmund’s back was turned to her, and before she could say anything, he spoke first.
“Becky, I’ve told you already that as long as we’re not divorced yet, you should behave yourself.”
As he spoke, he turned around. His eyes fell on her face harshly as he continued, “Not only when you are in public, but also when you are in the company as well. Stay away from other men and don’t cause any trouble. You can’t afford to disgrace my family.”
The sarcasm inside Sigmund’s words was all too obvious, but it made Becky a bit uncomfortable to
hear.
She hadn’t even bothered with Sigmund’s flirtations with other women, but he blamed her first!
It was an amazing joke.
Not to mention that Becky had no intention of staying on after the internship.
Was he really thinking she was going to stay with him forever, wasn’t he?
Previously, Becky would only feel panicked and blame herself for Sigmund’s words, and would even leave the company for Sigmund’s words.
But now…
Chapter 16
Her heart had long been numb. She didn’t care about those things at all.
Was there any speculation or humiliation that would make her more humiliated than him getting her married with a dog on their wedding day?
Sigmund did not hear Becky’s voice and raised his eyes to look over again.
He thought the girl would look as hateful and tearful as before, but he saw that her eyes were only cold when she looked at him.
This coldness stabbed Sigmund’s heart with more agitation as if something was slipping through his palm.
Becky said calmly, “I will only stay here for a few days. If there is no evidence, Mr. Moolery should not create rumors and make things difficult for me. According to your rumor, in a few days‘ time, I
have given birth to three children in your eyes, right?”
may
She looked straight at him. “If I remember correctly, we will soon have a divorce. No matter when it will be, aren’t we going to get divorced? It’s none of your business whoever I want to be with, Mr. Moolery. Are you uncomfortable about it? Could it be… that you regret wanting to divorce me?“
