Chapter 415
"Okay, I got it. Thank you," Dylan hung up the phone and recounted what the homeroom teacher had said to Kevan.
"With my mother's intervention, Larissa and Aster would not suffer any grievances," Kevan expressed his complete trust in his mother. However, Dylan wasn't as optimistic as him.
"In your mother's eyes, Bethany is your only child or the only descendant of your family. Meanwhile, Larissa is a former daughter-in-law with no blood relation and no contact for several years. Do you think your mother will favor her over her granddaughter whom she brought up? Who do you think your mother will favor? The answer is obvious," Dylan said, his tone filled with sympathy as he patted Kevan's shoulder. Kevan was shaken, as every word Dylan said made sense.
"After my mother visits the kindergarten tomorrow, you can give the teacher another call," Kevan suggested.
"Kevan, I feel like you haven't grasped the main point," Dylan said, shaking his head.
"Huh?" Kevan looked puzzled.
"Larissa already knows that Bethany is your and Ruby's child-at least, that's what everyone believes. If Bethany bullied Aster, don't you think she will hold you responsible?" Dylan asked. Kevan suddenly felt worried.
When it came to matters involving Larissa, he couldn't think rationally. He would get stuck in his thoughts and fail to replace a solution on time.
For example, at this moment, his mind was completely occupied by the thought that Larissa hated him. Fear and panic prevented him from focusing on solving the problem.
"What do you think I should do then?" Kevan asked, his expression tense, seeking help from Dylan.
He couldn't just go up to Larissa and bluntly tell her that Bethany wasn't his daughter, could he?
That could salvage his relationship with Larissa, but it would also render all his sacrifices over the years in vain. He couldn't afford to lose his composure because the critical moment was fast approaching. Dylan had the same idea.
"Well, just endure it and don't do anything for now," he advised. "After the situation is settled, go to Larissa and sincerely apologize."
"But Bethany bit Aster ..." Kevan expressed his concern.
His beloved son-the son he had with Larissa. He would never allow anyone to bully him.
"I wanted to help Aster bite her back, but Aster said that boys shouldn't bully girls and didn't let me do it," Dylan said, laughing. "Larissa has really taught the child well. He's intelligent and kind-hearted. I envy him."
A hint of pride appeared on Kevan's face. "Well, it must be because he carries my genes," he said.
Dylan sneered in response.
The next day, Violet personally took Bethany to the kindergarten.
After returning home yesterday, Bethany cried and admitted her mistake to Violet, promising not to bully her classmates again.
Violet was angry, not at Bethany's behavior, but at Ruby and herself. If a child were to go astray, parents would be the ones bearing the greatest responsibility.
Bethany had always been under the care of Ruby and Violet. Violet didn't know how Ruby disciplined her child, but Bethany was usually obedient to Violet.
Then again, Bethany would always act cute before Violet, melting her heart and pacifying her temper. Therefore, she neither hit Bethany nor scolded her. Instead, she made her apologize to every classmate she had ever bullied.
