Asher, upon returning to the room, was quite surprised when he couldn’t replace Elizabeth in bed. It was odd that she wasn’t in because he didn’t quite expect that she would be out, especially after hearing what the council of elders had to say about her.

He shut the door quietly before walking further into the room. His eyes looking around as he tried to replace out where she might be. There was no indication that anything was amiss which just left him feeling confused on her where about.

“Elizabeth?” Asher called but got no response.

He was met with a stiff silence that filled him with a sense of foreboding. Something was definitely wrong but for the life of him, he couldn’t quite place a finger on what it was.

He made his way towards the bathroom, knocking lightly at the closed door to see if she was in there taking a shower but he was met with more silence. He pushed it open and found it empty.

“Could she have ran away?’’ Asher muttered with a frown.

He walked back into the room, confusion written all over his face. He didn’t quite know where else to look to replace her which left him all the more worried.

He sighed, going over to the wardrobe to check for her clothe but everything was still the way it was that morning.

Maybe she didn’t run away. He thought was a frown.

Or did something happened while he was out in the wood?

He couldn’t allow his thought to dwell on something happening to her. She couldn’t even imagined it.

Maybe she got scared and ran off to fine Izzy or Alex. Maybe she was with one of those two. He was certain. He just needed to confirm it to be true.

Sighing out in frustration, he made his way to the wardrobe to grab another shirt and short before shrugging out of the one he was putting and quickly threw on the ones he had picked.

He caught a quick glimpse of himself in the mirror and realized that his hair was looking longer than he even remember and absolutely need a new hair cut soon enough before he is mistaken for a girl.

Asher wondered what Elizabeth actually thinks of him. If she found him attractive or just a cold monster like the look in her eyes had told him many times already.

Whatever she thought of him, he probably deserved it. He hasn’t exactly being an angel to her and isn’t about to start claiming to be one either but one thing is for sure, he is not about to allow the council of elders to have their way when he very well knew that Elizabeth had done nothing wrong.

Alex was right. Macy wouldn’t want this, that was something he was sure.

She would never agree for someone to die for her soul to rest in the after life.

He was absolutely wrong to think someone like Bradley Lincoln would come looking when he found her missing. Either he didn’t care about her like she had told him before or he simply wanted her gone.

Whatever that bastard wanted, Asher didn’t care anymore more. He was more concern about getting her out of the mess he has gotten her into.

If not for anything, for her bravery so far. For a woman as fragile as her, he didn’t think she would make it up to this point. But she was still here.

Times without number, he had seen Elizabeth take labored breaths when she thought he wasn’t looking as she tried to adjust to everything that was happening around her but watch her fail at it before letting out a sigh.

Sometimes, he wish he could take her hand and give it a squeeze while assuring her things would be okay and may times he opens his mouth and only the wrong words flows out of it.

He g*****d, gripping his hair in anguish. There was absolutely nothing he hadn’t thought about that could salvage the situation but everything he thought about was met with a stumbling block.

Just then, there was a huge pounding on the door which startled Asher as his head snapped towards the door but made no move to open it.

“Asher! Open up” Alex called from behind the door.

Asher took a huge breath, expelling out the breath he didn’t know he was holding in. He opened up and upon seeing Alex, he knew something bad had happened. Elizabeth wasn’t with him and the look of anguish on his Beta’s face was enough to send his wolf into a state of frenzy.

‘’Where is she?’’ Asher asked with clenched fist and Alex gulped.

“She is with Eva. I came to give you feedback on the assignment you sent me on and found her on the floor, so I just took her to Eva” Alex explained calmly and Asher simply rushed passed him by the door.

Asher rushed to the small clinic at the outskirt of the pack with Alex hot on his heels. He has no idea what he was expecting to see when he push the door open and met with an empty hall.

“Eva? Eva?” Asher called, desperation evident in his voice.

The pack doctor came running out from her inner chambers with a confused expression on her face. She knew the only person who could call her with such authority was Asher and she was quite right when she saw him standing there with his Beta who had the same worried look in his eyes.

‘”Asher” Eva said, bowing her head lightly.

“Elizabeth? Please, where is she?” Asher asked, his voice a little louder than he intended.

Eva sighed, gripping her stethoscope tighter. She didn’t know how she was going to break the news to him but she just had to somehow. He deserved to know at least being that he was the one caring for her all these while.

“Why don’t you calm down and come have a seat in my office so we can talk” She said cautiously.

“No, I’m not sitting down Eva. I demand to know what the f**k happened to Elizabeth right now” Asher barked with his Alpha voice causing Eva to flinch.

His loud voice reverberated round the clinic, scaring some of the little children who were there for one form of medical care or the other.

“Okay, Okay, I will tell you”

Asher took a step closer, “Start Talking”
