“Knock knock, i’m looking for a certain pregnant woman with beautuful green orbs for eyes” a familiar voice called before the door was pushed open and Izzy stepped inside. Elizabeth burst out laughing as Izzy walked in further with a smile of her own and, carrying a basket filled with pastries.

Elizabeth was so glad to see her that she couldn’t contain her joy.

“Izzy!” Elizabeth giggled as she hurried over and wrapped her arms around her shoulders.

“How are you, Beth” Izzy pulled back that look at her face.

“I’m Okay. Thank you for coming to see me”

Elizabeth was sitting on a comfortable arm chair inside a small room in Eva’s place. She been a week since and Asher has helped her to move in with Eva.

Whenever she is tired of lying down, she comes sit on the chair to relax. Eva assured her the arm chair would help ease the aches in her back.

Elizabeth looked more healthy than she was a week ago. Her skin was looking better and light was returning to her eyes again. Being with Eva suited her well.

“Boy am i glad to see you smiling right now “ Izzy said with a grin and Elizabeth nodded.

She gripped Elizabeth’s hands, giving it a gentle squeeze with a sigh.

Elizabeth arched a brow, “What did you bring for me”

“Let me show it to you”

She grabbed the basket, picking up a small fruit cake before giving it to her.

“My mom made that and I wanted to bring some for you”

Beth smiled, “Really?, thanks”

She bite into it, moaning in delight as the delicious taste danced around her tongue.

“Do you like it?” Izzy asked curiously.

Beth nodded with a mouth full, “I love it”

She continued to eat her fruit cake while Izzy poured her a glass of fresh orange juice and took a sip from it before handing it to her.

“Thank you” Beth equipped.

“so how have you been?” Beth asked shortly.

“Oh me? I’ve been there, taking orders and all but I had to take a break and come to see you”

“I’m really glad you came. It get boring around here some times” She complained with a sad pout.

“Don’t worry, as soon as I’m done with my daily chores, I will come see you”

Izzy left after brushing the tangles off her hair and braiding it into two loops with colorful ribbons. Elizabeth was all along once again after she waved her good bye and went on her way.

Ever since she moved in with Eva, more guards have been stationed around the house. She very much doubt it was for her safety. Asher is probably afraid she might try to escape, she thought with a sigh before looking up to replace Eva walking towards her.

“Hi Elizabeth” Eva said, walking into the room

“Hi” Beth smiled.

She owed her life to this woman who had fought fiercely to bring her back to shape. If it weren’t for her, she would have probably been long dead.

“How do you feel? Any pains, aches or discomfort i should know of?’’ she asked.

Beth shook her head slightly..

“No, none at all, I’m fine” Beth said.

“I’m glad. In no time, you’ll be perfect” Eva assured her even more before she turned to walk out of the room but stopped at Beth’s word.

“Yes? What is it?” She asked expectantly.

“I’ll like to request for something”

“Alright child, go on”

“ I want to go out. I want to walk around, I’ve been locked up here for a long time. I need to exercise my legs” Beth whined.

Eva laughed, She knew Beth would ask this, in fact she was even planning on suggesting it to her but Beth had beaten her to it.

“Of course darling. You’re free to walk around the hospice but I advise you not to go too far . I really don’t want you to run into any problem. Stay where the guards can protect you just in case”

Elizabeth knew she was right. No one knew what could be lurking around in the shadow to devour her and she isn’t about to put herself in that situation either.

“okay, I promise to be careful”

“That’s okay dear. Please the second you feel any slight ache or discomfort, no matter how little it might be do not hesitate to let me know. I’m always here.’’ Eva said firmly and she nodded.

Eva left soon, leaving Beth to do as she wanted. She grab the blanket from the bed and had it wrapped around her shoulders before slipping her feet into a pair of shoes and stepping into the open. The weather was a bit cold and needed to stay warm.

She took in a deep breath, loosening all the pent up emotions and stiffness in her muscles as little breeze nuzzle in her ears gently.

Now, she was free. She was absolutely free to walk about and breathe without feeling suffocated with Asher’s presence and honestly, it was truly a great feeling. One she could totally get used to.

In the following days, Elizabeth felt so relaxed she had a hard time believing all that was happening to her was true.

She had never felt so free and relaxed since the first time she was brought to the camp. It just seemed like she was in a new body, devoid of any stress. It was a good feeling and she just wanted to enjoy every bit of it.
