Taken By The Demon Alpha -
Chapter 88
As Asher left, Elizabeth knew that this was her chance to escape with her son. For several months, she had been dreaming of this day and now, the time had finally come and she isn’t about to waste it, just sitting there and waiting for a man she wasn’t even sure might return.
It was a foolhardy thing to do given her situation and she knew she would be damn if she doesn’t try and take matters into her own hand.
As Elizabeth sat there, with her baby in arm, the wheels on her head began turning. She was thinking of the best way she could escape without anyone realizing she was gone.
“I can do this” she murmured to herself as she looked out the window and into the nearby shrubs leading to the tree line. It would be dark soon and she has to be ready to make a run towards it.
The more she sat there plotting her escape, the easier it all seem to her. Little Sam was still sleeping, it would be easy to carry her out without making a sound and hopefully, he wake up until they make it far enough.
Her Baby stirred and Elizabeth realized that she had been murmuring too much and too loud which had probably disturbed his sleep. She stayed quiet, hoping that he went back to sleep and he did.
“I’ve got to be more quiet now” Elizabeth chuckled.
If Baby Sam had successfully woken up, Elizabeth had no doubt that this escape plan would be ruined because his cries would have no doubt alerted everyone around the area.
Elizabeth decided to remain calm and think about the best way by which she could escape. She realized that the best person she could use had to be Izzy. Izzy trusted her so much and Beth knew that she would even support her in her quest to escape.
They had talked about it before but all Izzy requested was that Elizabeth gave birth first and now that she had, she knew there was no stopping her. With this plan in mind, Elizabeth decided to wait for their fifteen minutes lunch break where they could talk without any disturbance.
That was the time she could talk to Izzy about everything she was planning. Elizabeth really hoped that Izzy supported her in this. If she didn’t, she knew it would be so difficult to escape.
There was nothing like having the support of someone who you could trust. She had no doubt Izzy could help show her the way out and fast too.
Elizabeth hated what she was about to do but there was really no way she could keep her son safe without escaping from that hell. She had taken the decision at the last minute and decided not to tell Izzy what she was about to do. Though she trusted her, Elizabeth knew her loyalty still lied with her Alpha and so, Izzy might not support her escaping, especially since she had a baby with her.
She’d probably lecture her on all the reason why she would be endangering both their lives but what she doesn’t know is that, staying there is the real danger. But then again, Izzy would never understand it as she was not the one in her shoes.
Beth had even loose count on how many attempts had been made on her life already and now, it’ her son and that’s something she can’t tolerate. Even if she has to face hell to escape tonight then she would.
Good thing, Alex hasn’t come to see her yet or his presence would have been a real stumbling block.
As soon as Izzy walked in with her dinner, she knew it was her opportunity to run.
Izzy was about to serve her food when she saw the look in her eyes.
“Hey, are you okay? You don’t look very happy” She said, staring at her face.
“I have a bit of a problem” Elizabeth said.
Her brows furrowed, “Don’t tell me something is wrong”
Elizabeth knew that she had to make her story more believable because that was the only way Izzy would believe her. Besides being a sweetheart, Izzy was a really smart girl. She could easily detect lies from the truth which was something that had helped her for a long time.
“No, everything’s fine. It’s just that there’s a problem with the baby’s food and I’m going to need to grab another bottle for him soon” Elizabeth said.
This wasn’t what Izzy was expecting but she was quite glad that the problem wasn’t anything serious.
“The food has become cold and he likes it a little bit warm, you know” Elizabeth laughed.
“Well, that’s no problem. I can go reheat his food while you go ahead and eat. I will be back before you know I was even gone”
“Its okay Izzy, Thank you so much” Elizabeth said with a smile and she gave her a smile back before walking out the door.

Once Izzy was out, she began to pick up her little belonging. Just a pair of hoodie and leggings. Every other thing were that of her son. She folded them and placed into the duffel bag Asher had brought things in before placing it under the cupboard.
It wasn’t heavy. It was lightweight, something she could carry without breaking down on the road.
Izzy returned shortly afterward with the baby bottle just like she wanted and she still didn’t want to tell her about her plan. Izzy wouldn’t agree with it because of the baby but Elizabeth had to go to save her head and that of her child. It was the only thing she could do.
“I heard Asher has left the camp but i really don’t know how true that is” Izzy said.
Elizabeth decided to come clean with her on this because the issue of Asher affected all of them.
“Yes, it’s true. he’s gone” Elizabeth said with a nod.
“But to where? He’ll be back right?’’ Izzy asked, looking worried.
“I don’t know where but yes, he will be back”
“Awwn, you miss him don’t you?” Izzy laughed and Beth snorted.
“No, I do not miss him but I hate that he is gone” She admitted truthfully and Izzy sighed.
They talked some more and Elizabeth discovered that she needed her to leave so she can carry out her plan.
“Hey, can I ask you for a favor?”
“Yeah,sure. Anything you want”
“I’m so sorry for this but I need another plate of soup from the kitchen” Beth said with a pout and Izzy only shook her head at her friend.
“if I didn’t know you, I would say you are acting all kind of weird right now but I will go grab some for you”
Beth smiled. “Thank you”
Izzy got up and leave, promising to come back as soon as she got the food. Now that she had gone, Elizabeth knew it was time to carry out her plans.
She rose up on her feet, looking around to see if the guards were stationed out as usual before she got dressed as well. Picking up her baby, she had him strapped to her chest with his carrier before grabbing her bag.
Just as she was about to leave the room with the bag in hand, Alex walked in on her and in that moment, Elizabeth knew her game was up.
