I would have thought he was appreciating my looks, but it was certainly far from that, and I knew it.

He tore his gaze away from me and that made me scoff in silence. I was in a sleeveless long gown with a v shape opening at my back reaching my back waist and long black gloves

"Luna," Daniel uttered with a smile and opened the door so I could step in. When I did, I took my seat keeping my distance from Dexter without uttering a word to him.

The drive was only an hour and we were finally there. Since this gathering was all about us, our entry was meant to be special. The red carpet was set right in front of the car and when we stepped down from the car, Dexter cocked his head toward me,

"Take my hand." He murmured to me and I instantly took his hand. With our hands intertwined, we began walking in, and as soon as we got in, everyone seated rose to their feet and began jamming their hands together.

Dexter was right!

His family was really a powerful one. Never in my entire existence did I believe I would receive this much respect from wealthy and influential people. I could feel my heart racing and I had no idea how to react to all of this,
