Omega Juno Lanfonsy was gathering intelligence unbeknownst to Alonso or any of the De Sina Pack members, which included Underboss, Mazza Marcovic; Consigliere, Piccolo Durante; Button man, Bianco Turo; and Capo, Jerald Offredi. He posed as an ally within the Mafia region but was a very crafty spy on the werewolves’ lives. His mission was to make sure none of the werewolves were mating and certainly not having pups.

After all these long years, Callisto Beaumont still hated the De Sina pack. Although his goal to wipe them out was halted by the realization that Alonso De Sina was the one and true alpha. It would be foolish to attack heads on.

It would also be a fool’s mission if any indirect hit were traced to him. In the last few days, Beaumont had received emails regarding his enemy from the intelligence he situated in his pack.

The emails shocked him, and they read: Alonso has found a mate…Piccolo has come to join him…and the recent one he just finished reading, Bianco has a mate, and she’s pregnant.

“Juno, figure out a way to eliminate the target,” Callisto gave the order from his workshop. “I want her gone as soon as possible. Is she human?”

“Yes, she’s human, and I think I might have found a way to eliminate her, boss,” Juno responded from the payphone. He then dialed multiple numbers and spoke briefly to each person.

Callisto’s workshop was where he polished his guns, made all sorts of modifications to them, and also where he stored other weapons he used for his hitman job.

“Father, were you just talking with Juno?” Antonio said, assisting him in dismantling a gun.

“Yes, I was,” Callisto answered, adjusting his glasses with his index finger to rest correctly on the bridge of his nose. It was a habit of his to change his glasses every five minutes or so.

“And who are you talking about eliminating this time around?” Antonio said, with a slight hint of frustration in his voice.

“Bianco’s mate,” he replied, inspecting a bottle of wolfsbane. “Can you believe it? She is pregnant! If Bianco does not come for us, his child will avenge him. These things only take a matter of time. And unluckily for us, we do not die so easily naturally. So best believe it when I say, son, that if we do not crush them, they will crush us.”

Antonio handed him some bullets, and as his father soaked them into the bottle of wolfsbane, he asked, “Father, can’t we just leave the innocent child out of this?”

Callisto snorted and adjusted his glasses. “Innocence is found in every living thing, boy, from hyenas to snakes and lions. Everyone is born innocent, but then evil nature must arise. A wise man must learn to kill the snake before it grows fangs or starts to secrete venom.”

“Okay, father, I understand!” Antonio replied, letting it go. If he argued, he might face the wrath of his over-inclined father.

Alonso had gone home to a family full of laughter and joy. He wondered what the occasion was about. Everyone was gathered in the living room, and he knew the instigator of the idea had to be Mazza.

Taleela sat next to his grandfather, and they both turned to look at him, but he shifted his gaze to Vincenzo, Bianco, and Marta Errani, his mate.

“Good news Alonso,” Mazza said sharply. “Marta is pregnant, and this calls for a massive celebration.”

He oh’d silently as he realized why everyone was so cheery.

“Marta, wow, that’s such good news,” Alonso said, moving towards her.

“Thank you, boss,” she replied as she got up to accept his widespread arms.

“Bianco, I haven’t seen you smile from cheek to cheek like the way you’re doing now!” Alonso said teasingly. “This child of yours will have all my support because I’m going to be this child’s godfather.”

Bianco got up and hugged his boss and replied, “Thank you, boss this means so much to us.”

“Lady Tanya, bring us some wine!” Alonso declared happily. “Taleela, if you’re not so busy, could you please assist?”

“Sure, Don,” she said, startling him.

The celebration went on for a while. They talked about what would be done separately if the child was a male and what would be done if the child was female.

Taleela halted Marta from drinking the alcoholic wine, explaining that it was terrible for the baby’s health, and she obeyed. Alonso took the opportunity of this event to try and be nicer to her. Mazza wanted them to talk, so Mazza purposely left the chair for Alonso to sit on.

“So I take it that I’m not as repulsive as I thought I would be the day you’ll sit next to me,” Taleela said.

“Don’t get too comfortable,” Alonso said, heaving a sigh. “I still replace you very repulsive.”

She gave a short laugh and turned seriously to say, “But you couldn’t stop staring at me during the ball!”

“Yeah, because I thought you looked ridiculous wearing all that makeup,” Alonso said. “By the way, I didn’t know you could draw porn.”

Taleela almost choked on her wine, and she blurted out, “What?! Oh shit, no, you didn’t see those.”

“I told you not to get too comfy around me,” he bragged. “Where did you go?”

“Well, that’s my business now, isn’t it?”

“Hmm, I am going to let that sort of response slide because today’s setting is one I don’t want to ruin.”

“I would love to be in the type of setting where you ruin things, Don Alonso Mafioso.”

It was another shocker for him, but he composed himself and asked, “Did Mazza tell you all that?”

“I figured it out myself,” she said.

Alonso’s grip tightened on his wine glass, and it broke, tearing his hand. Taleela was shocked, and when she wanted to check his hand, he quickly tossed her hand with his other hand.

“Don’t touch me,” he said, rising and left. The gesture had perplexed Taleela more than it did to frighten her. Nothing scared her, and she was starting to wonder why.

Alonso had left because he did not want Taleela to see that the wound had healed in a matter of seconds. He was still very skeptical about her. Then she had to utter that she knew he was a Mafia, but Mazza did not tell her. He needed to know how she knew. Bianco came over to meet him at the bar.

“Hey boss, are you alright?” Bianco asked, sitting next to him.

“Yeah, I’ve been better. I’m still not used to speaking with her, and I don’t know why I don’t trust her.”

“Just give it time boss, in time, you’ll figure out your feelings but don’t stop trying to establish a connection beyond the obvious connection.”

“What the hell does that even mean?” Alonso said, looking up at Bianco.

“Come on, we all can notice the obviousness that both of you are attracted to each other. But both of you, especially you, boss, have to put in the effort if this is going to work.”

Alonso snickered. “This baby of yours is making you soft, Bianco. Never knew you, you could advise on affairs that concern the heart.”

“Boss, I’m taking my mate out for dinner, but Vincenzo is accompanying me,” Bianco said.

“Why is Vincenzo accompanying you on a date with your mate?” Alonso said, surprisingly.

“It’s not a big deal kind of date,” Bianco said, rising. “Besides, I just want an evening off with the both of them.”

“Very well then, sure you have my permission.”

“Thanks.”

Natural life, they say, is cyclical, and karma is something that everyone will meet with eventually. Bianco was sitting with his mate and bosom friend, or should we say brother, in a bar having a swell time.

Omega Juno Lanfonsy had Intel about Matteo, the bar owner. He knew how Bianco and Vincenzo killed the innocent bartender, although his boss had brought him up with the belief that nobody was innocent in the world. He positioned himself on top of a building with a sniper. There was not yet a clear shot, so he waited for one.

Bianco was coming out of the bar a few minutes later with Marta and Vincenzo. He heard the fast traveling sound of a bullet from a gun he had handled many times himself. Before he could pull Marta away, the shot caught her in her neck. She even had time to check her neck before falling over. Vincenzo watched in horror as b***d sprouted like water from a fountain.

“Why?” Bianco said, trapped in an endless loop. He fell on his knees and gave a piercing scream of agony.

“Bianco, no!” Vincenzo yelled, trying to calm him down. “You must not do it. People are watching us.”

Bianco was flickering from his wereform to human, but Vincenzo covered him. He looked towards the building the gun was shot from. He knew the killer would have been long gone. He could not think of who could have done this.

He could not think at all, and he was agonizing about losing his mate and child. Memories of all his evil deeds came rushing to him at once. He wondered if this was punishment for all those years spent killing and enjoying watching their life flash before their eyes.

Alonso felt something odd at the bar. He had been drinking since. He and Taleela did not talk after Bianco had left. Mazza walked down to him and sat next to him.

“What’s the matter?” Mazza asked, taking the wine glass from Alonso. “You might break it the way you’re holding it.”

“I don’t know, and I just feel something strange.”

“Is it about Taleela?” Mazza asked, smiling gaily.

“No, this is different. It feels more like I can feel the pain of somebody.”

His grandfather’s brows furrowed. “I hope-“

Alonso’s phone rang and cut Mazza. It was Vincenzo who was calling.

“Speak,” said Alonso.

“She was murdered,” Vincenzo said and rapidly added, “Bianco is in a state of rage, and I don’t know how long I can keep him from transforming.”

“Give him the phone.”

Vincenzo pressed the phone to Bianco’s ear. He had managed to get Bianco and Marta away from the public and into the car.

Luckily they were on the road, but the lousy aspect was still trafficked. The more they delayed, the higher the chances of Bianco losing it and accidentally turning into a werewolf.

“Bianco! Listen to me,” Alonso said. His voice was stone cold. “Don’t do it. Come home, and let’s talk it over.”

Alonso swiped the bottle of drink and wine to the floor, and it crashed. He went to the wine and pulled it down. Alonso was beyond angry, and Mazza could only watch this display in silence. Mazza’s heart, like the broken bottles, had shattered into a million pieces too.

Taleela heard the crashes and shouts of despair, and she ran out to investigate even against Tanya’s wish. Alonso glared at her, and his eyes made her bolt back into the kitchen, trembling.

“What is he?” she asked Lady Tanya, still trembling.

“Alonso gets mad like this when he has lost someone dares to him,” Tanya explained.

The pain that comes with losing a mate was not something that Alonso wished on his worst enemy. Bianco swore revenge by the poolside. They were all still sitting when Juno came with a stranger he held at gunpoint.

“Who is this Juno?” Alonso asked, seemingly surprised.

“Matteo hired someone to kill Bianco, but he did a shitty job and killed some girl instead,” Juno explained.

“You killed my mate,” Bianco growled, about to rise, but Alonso held him down.

“How did you replace the killer so fast?” Alonso asked. His voice was laced with so much skepticism.

“Go ahead, tell them how I found you!” Omega Juno said, kicking the man down to his knees.
