DAISY

Hudson was gone for a few minutes; we knew that he wasn’t into this as he wanted to do all this with Brooke by his side.

It has been a long two months.

The alpha’s ceremony was still underway even if Hudson wasn’t here. Everyone here needed some celebration. We all wanted Brooke here, but the other pack members lost so much over the last few months due to a man’s beliefs.

“What are you thinking about?” Asked Adonis as he came to the side of me.

I turn to look at him and smile. “Just thinking I might go looking for my brother since this is his celebration.”

Adonis smiles. “Ah, you can’t blame him for not wanting to celebrate without his love next to him,” he says softly.

His eyes leave mine, and I can’t help but follow his gaze, which lands on Joe, who is dancing with my mother.

“How is Joe?” I ask him. I smile.

“He misses Brooke; she was like his little sister. He wanted to protect her as we all did, but he is trying to accept that she will be back when she is ready,” he says.

I nod. “We all miss her,” I say.

There’s a few moments of silence between us, but Adonis clears his throat and turns to look at me. “Did you know what Hudson was going to offer us?”

I stare back and smile. “Yeah, we held a meeting a few days ago, and I think it is perfect,” I say, which makes him smile brightly, “I think having Joe and you here will be amazing; you have become family over the last few months, and you both also helped not just Brooke but myself heal when we needed it, ” I said taking his hand into mine. “Please stay, work with Hudson. I know he loves dad, but I think, and we all agree, that Hudson could learn a lot more from you. We found many territories close by that would be suitable for you both to run, and everyone in yours will have the same protection as ours.”

Adonis smiles at me. “Well, I had no worries before, but you confirmed everything for me,” he says with a smile on face his face.

I step closer to him and wrap my arms around his waist to hug him. “I want you here, and I know Brooke will want both of you here too.”

Adonis places a k**s on my head and pulls back with his arms on either side of mine. “We will stay; we will arrange everything in the next few weeks,” he says.

“Shall we dance?” I ask him, and he chuckles, “I would love to but be careful as I might dance on your feet.” I nod and smile.

I can’t help but laugh out loud as I hold my hand out to him, and he takes it. I lead us to the dance floor towards my mother and Joe. Joe looks at us, slightly stunned to see Adonis dancing.

Joe looks at him blankly; Adonis smiles as Joe jumps up and down, screeching “Yes,” which takes a few of the other dancers entirely off guard as they jump.

I giggle, and my mother leans into me. “What just happened?” She asks, looking slightly confused.

I look at her. “I think Adonis told him that they are planning on moving close by,” I said. My mother’s eyes grew wide, and so did her smile. “You are moving here,” she says to them both, who are nodding widely at her.

We all danced together until I needed to get some air outside; I left a pleased Joe, Adonis, and my mother, who was joined by my father, who was also happy to hear their news.

I walked outside the packhouse and spotted Jackson staring at the forest clearing. I haven’t spoken to him tidy as he has been dealing with everything and working everything out with Danica.

I sigh and walk over to sit next to him.

Jackson looks up at me. “Daisy,” he says in a surprise, “Are you enjoying yourself?”

I nod. “I am Jackson.”

I look at him, his eyes never leave mine, but I clear my throat. “I know you want Brooke back, but you have to be patient with her,” I said to him. “She showed you what she went through. We all know that you had a problem with drink back then, but we didn’t realize that you were drugged too.”

He stares at me. “Daisy, how can I tell her that…..” he starts to say, but I place my hand on his arm. “You tell her the truth. Jackson, Brooke needs to know the truth, and you need to tell her that she is the most important person in your life like Danica is. You tell her you will make it up to her every day till she believes you.”

Jackson has tears running down his face, but someone clears their throat behind us. We both look over our shoulders to see Danica, who smiles back at us. “Am I disturbing you both?” She asks.

Jackson moves quickly and stands to her side. “No darling, you never will disturb me,” he says. I can’t help but smile back at both of them.

I move off the top step and start to head back inside with Danica as Jackson goes back to the top step, but I look towards where he is looking, and that’s when I see Hudson walking towards us. Hudson was holding another feather.

I can’t help but smile, there is still no sign of Brooke, but the feather means so much to us. But suddenly, Hudson stops and turns to run back to the forest, the way he came from, I assumed.

What the hell?

I walk back to the steps, but Sassy smiles wide at us as she stares at us. “I think we need to get inside,” she says and turns to Jackson. “I think your mate wants a dance,” she says.

Jackson looks concerned as he looks towards where Hudson runs off too. “Where is Hu….” he starts to say, but Sassy shakes his head, still holding the same big smile on her face. “He will be back soon.”

Jackson stares back at her but moves away from her slowly and heads inside. I look back at Sassy, who is staring at the forest clearing. “She is back,” she says quietly, only for me to hear.

I stare back at her in shock and move closer to her, wanting to take steps to head to follow Hudson, but Sassy stops me and looks at me. “You can’t go and see her just yet. They need some time for together.”

I stare back at her and smile. “When will they be back here?” I ask her.

Sassy smiles. “You will know soon enough, Daisy, patience is not a wolf’s best quality,” she says with a laugh.

I can’t help but frown at her “Thanks, I think.”

She stops laughing and smiles once again. “You can stay here with me,” she says as she sits on the steps.

I sit next to her.

Brooke is back, but we have to wait.

Sassy starts talking about her moving to the pack to be closer to Brooke and help her with anything she needs.

Suddenly I felt something come through the pack line; it was like a shock that sent a shiver right through the whole pack line to everyone. It happened earlier that evening when Hudson became the new alpha, but what the hell was that?

Sassy smiles but doesn’t say anything, but people inside the packhouse started to come outside.

I stand up quickly as I can feel the connection; we not only have a new alpha.

We have a new Luna.

Brooke is our Luna.

As soon as everyone feels the connection and realizes it, we all let howls into the night sky.

Joe and Adonis run out with Danica; Jackson looks at us all white as a sheet. The realization set in for him that his daughter was back. She is now Luna; that may be too much for him to handle.

“What’s going?” Asked Joe as he came towards me.

I can’t help but smile back at him. “We have a new Luna,” I say, which both Adonis stare around confused but soon realization sets in, and their faces change from shock to happiness. “Brooke, she is back,” I say.
