The Alpha’s Mute Mate -
Episode 83: Epilogue
UNKNOWN
I looked over the field; the packhouse was in full swing.
She is now the Luna of the pack.
I can’t help the smirk on my face at the thought.
“Why are you smirking at me?” asked Trey, my number two, who was now standing by my side.
“I think it is funny that they are celebrating the fact they have a new Luna,” I said. “She might be powerful, but we now know there is a way to kill her; we just have to take our time to replace it.”
Trey frowns. “I still don’t understand why we must wait for a long time; why not retake the pack? Your father knew what he was doing,” he says.
I turned and glared at him. “My father was a pathetic piece of s**t, he and my mother. They wanted to torture her to get her to bend to their whim, but they never knew what she was; even when they found out what she was, they didn’t realize how powerful she was till it was too late. I told my old man, but he was not having any of it,” I said.
He looked at me. “But why do we have to wait to kill her?” he asked.
I sigh out loud but still stare at him. “I want to wait until we have many more followers; we can even add some new friends to the mix once they replace out they have many Fae creatures. They are all in the books my father found in the history library. We will place a spy in the pack to get close to the Alpha or Luna, and we can learn more that way. Also, we have that little human who helped us locate the map in that book she found,” I said.
Trey smirked. “Nice touch using magic on her; she may not be in their good books now,” he said, chuckling.
I can’t help but chuckle. “With what I learned from that she-wolf last night, that human is not welcome either way, as they found out about the baby she had two years ago. She thought the child was the beta’s, but it wasn’t. She had another wolf’s child; it will all be up in the air for her,” I said and looked at him. “Her mate will never forgive her for the discreet; I believe he only moved due to the rumors.”
We both turn towards the packhouse; the music blares in the background.
After a few minutes, I turned around and walked away, with Trey following close behind me.
Another follower runs up to me. “Boss the books, and everything is packed up; we are ready to leave,” he says. I nodded to him.
“So we are leaving now; we have a spy in mind for the pack,” Trey says, and I look at him over my shoulder with a smirk. “We will send the twins in; they know more about the situation than anything,” I say.
He chuckles. “Bria and Bradley,” he says. I nod.
“Good choice; they are true followers of our cause,” he says.
Bria and Bradley were twins my father saved from a rogue attack, and they were loyal to him. They promised me they would follow the cause if I carried on with what he believed. The twins hate wolves and other shifters, but they despise humans after hunters kill their parents.
“I need to check the house,” I said to Trey. He nods.
We walked in and looked around the house, ensuring nothing was left behind. The stupid pack searched all the places Damien and my father had, but they never looked for this one under my mother’s maiden name.
I want payback on the pack for what they did to my parents; their deaths are on their hands. My father was a crazy bastard and even made my mother mate with that Phoenix’s shifter’s father. He wanted her; I knew why due to the whole situation with Damien’s family torturing her. They were trying to bring the shifter side out to replace out what they were. All because my father saw how the shifter side helped save her human counterpart. We all thought he was crazy until he showed us the video he got. He was videoing it to send it to Jackson for revenge on him. I still have it.
After checking the house, we all turned to leave. I stand on the doorstep with Trey while the rest, mainly followers, climb into the SUVs to go to another state.
“We will be back soon,” I said and looked at him. “We are giving them time; we are going on an adventure to replace the creature that is guarding what can kill the Phoenix,” I said, but I started to smirk. “You never know, they might have pups; one might even be phoenix-like its b***h mother.”
Trey looks at me, slightly confused, but then recovers, “You are waiting for them to have pups; if they have a phoenix shifter, the creature will know that there are more phoenixes around, and he will claim them as his pets” he says with the same smirk.
I nodded. “I plan to get more followers; revenge will come when they least expect it. I want them to forget about the prophecy, but with spies in the pack, we can also place spies in that small pack and Alpha Josh’s too, making sure they are true followers of the cause, like the twins.”
Trey nods as we both descend the steps of the house. I walked to the SUV car door and opened it.
We both climb in and take our seats in the back seat; I give the driver the nod to leave, and every SUV we have raws up to life and follows us.
“Do you know what the creature that guards the thing that can kill a phoenix?” asks Trey as he looks at me.
“I read some stories about it. Alpha Josh and his brother still don’t know about the book. That human will place it back in the house where she found it. But when they have it, it won’t tell them anything about the creature,” I say, but I pull out a piece of paper from the pocket of my jeans and hand it to him.
He opens it and looks back at me in shock. “This is what is guarding that thing,” he says. His eyes grew wide.
The creature is hideous; it is also considerable. It could make all demons from hell look like angels if it wanted.
I smirked. “You not afraid,” I asked him. Trey’s face goes white, but when he looks at me, “That thing could eat us if it wants, and yeah, I’m afraid,” he says.
I chuckle. “That’s ok; we will send some people in when we replace him. I think he will be happy to replace out that there are Phoenix shifters that live here in this realm,” I said.
The driver who was driving, I could sense his fear at the thought of meeting a demon. He saw the picture I had when I picked the picture up.
I smirked. “Don’t worry, boys, we might be years away from replaceing the demon, and that pack may have more of her kind. If that is the case, we will be ready and have more followers when our spies let us know about it,” I said.
“Where to, boss?” asked the driver.
“We are going to the airfield north; there is someone I need to meet, and then we will be out of here,” I said.
The driver follows out and heads in the direction of the airfield.
“Do you think we should be with these guys?” asks Trey, who I can feel looking at the side of my head.
“We need more than wolves to attack that pack. My father never wanted to ask anyone else to help, but this guy came to us. He was someone who looked after me, while my father was so fascinated with that girl and her mother, while my mother was mating with that pathetic wolf because my father made her. The man made me feel wanted more than my father did. He wants revenge on his son for being an alpha to a pack with his gay mate,” I said, knowing more about the story.
“I’m going to sleep for a while,” I said to Trey. “I need to rest before we get there.”
I closed my eyes. There were no more words said between either of us. I need to be ready; the man knows that the creature needs more phoenix shifters to choose which one to be his pet, but something tells me there is more to the story of this prophecy than meets the eye. Hopefully, we will learn more soon.
THE END.
