The Apple of My Eye -
Chapter 1441 A Lesson
When Leila walked into the dressing room, she heard about the gossip. But instead of feeling embarrassed and walking away, she pushed the door open and stepped inside. The women inside were surprised to see her. They looked at her, speechless and awkward. Leila pretended that she didn't hear them, but in reality, she wanted to laugh.
She found it funny that all these woman knew were to gossip about her behind her back. They felt jealous about the fact that Leila did so much better than any of them in such a short time. She, however, didn't give a damn about their thoughts. Deep down, she looked down upon them. Although they were working in the same place, somehow Leila felt that she was different.
Leila believed that she wouldn't stay here forever. This setup was just temporary.
Other women felt embarrassed when Leila caught them gossiping about her. But as they saw Leila acting so indifferent, not even feeling angry at all, they were further infuriated. Leila being so aloof made them want to tear her apart.
Annoyed, the woman with a heavy makeup walked towards Leila and intentionally bumped into her. Leila exclaimed as she felt a great pain from her shoulder. She rubbed her shoulder and lifted her head, glaring at the woman.
"What? What are you staring at?" the woman asked in an angry tone as she rolled her eyes, obviously, asking for trouble.
"A blind woman wants to make a scene. Why can't I take a look?" Leila talked back furiously. Her face blushed as blood rushed to her head, which made her more attractive. "Who are you talking about?"
The tension between them rose, but no one in the room wanted to step in and stop them. Instead, they just crossed their arms and stood aside, looking forward to a huge fight.
"I'm talking about you. Why else would you bump into me if you're not blind?" Leila shot an unconcerned glance at the woman, like she was a piece of trash.
The woman was already furious at Leila's behavior. And what Leila just said pushed her button. The woman couldn't put up with her any more. She lifted her hand, wanting to catch Leila's hair and teach her a lesson.
But Leila saw through her and she was able to dodge in time. Everyone in the dressing room was surprised when they heard a loud sound immediately after.
It turned out that Leila slapped the woman. Leila decided that she could not give in today. Otherwise, people would start to pick on her at work and life at the night club would end up a lot wearisome.
Everyone was startled. They couldn't believe that Leila's arrogance would drive her to do such a thing. Seeing things almost go out of control, the other women now stepped in and persuaded Leila and the woman to both calm down. But basically, most of them were stopping Leila, making sure she wouldn't take advantage of the woman.
Pissed off, the woman that Leila slapped went crazy and rushed to fight her back.
Good thing the manager came into the dressing room. She was wondering what was taking the ladies too long to start working. Now that she got into the room, she understood what happened. The manager's face turned gloomy. She narrowed her eyes and looked around, scaring the ladies.
"What's happening?" she shouted.
But no one dared to answer the manager's question. All of them remained silent, except Leila. She was smiling.
"Leila, tell me. What exactly happened here?"
"Nothing," Leila started. "She just tried to get me into trouble so I hit her." Leila pointed her slender finger at the woman, a devilish smile now on her face.
Everyone who was watching was afraid of the manager. She was a scheming woman. Someone who used to make her angry ended up being beaten up and some of them were even gone.
But Leila was not one of them. She was not afraid of the manager. She knew that she brought a lot of business to the club. She was the moneymaker, so even the manager would not dare to try anything stupic to lose her. Besides, she wasn't the one who started tonight's drama.
Therefore, Leila answered the manager with so much confidence. She lifted up her chin and looked down on the woman, looking forward to see her get scolded by the manager.
"Is that true?" The manager squinted and studied the other ladies in the room. After a long pause, someone nodded her head hesitantly.
She was furious and asked someone to take the said woman out immediately. As to what would happen to her, no one would know.
The manager's decisive and cruel character was what scared them all. Their faces were as white as paper. They even wished they could dig a hole in the floor to hide in there so that the manager couldn't see them. Everyone was afraid that they would be the next one who got scolded by the manager.
On the other hand, only Leila was smiling. When the woman was taken out, Leila even tried to trip her up, making the woman stumble. The woman glared at Leila for what she did.
Leila's act made the manager very uncomfortable and annoyed. What she hated the most was arrogant people. This kind of people wouldn't realize their mistakes and change until they learned their lesson. Suddenly, the manager got reminded of a guest who came to their club two days ago. He was rich and was rumored to be part of some gang. He also wore a lot of gold chains, definitely a new money. And this guest had a thing for Leila. He asked about her so many times. And every night he came, he kept asking Leila out, but she rejected him each time. According to their rules in the night club, the manager would need to stop the guests from forcing their ladies to go out. This decision was totally up to the ladies.
One night, Leila rejected this guest again and he walked out of the club, his eyes filled with desire. He looked determined. The manager noticed that and based from experience, she knew that something was going to happen. And she was right. The guest came back tonight and he seemed fully prepared and determined to get Leila laid, even bringing in a few subordinates with him.
She was actually looking for Leila to give her a heads-up, which was why her feet took her to the dressing room. But seeing her now with that arrogance, the manager changed her mind. She was annoyed that Leila was not taking her seriously.
The manager decided to teach Leila a lesson so she would learn how to behave in the future.
When everything was settled, the manager urged everyone in the dressing room to go out. The guests were already waiting for them. The club didn't hire the ladies to gossip in the dressing room. Leila followed the other girls and walked out too.
