The Billionaire’s Regret -
Chapter 206 –
"Are you sure about this, Ivy?"
around. I need you."
Ivy heaved a deep sigh as she crossed her legs. "I badly needed a break, Cooper. I'm sure you can handle the company. Besides, Seb will be with you."Cooper shook his head. "That man can do nothing but party all night with his friends. Seb loves to play and mess "I don't want to repeat myself. My flight to London will be tomorrow."Cooper frowned. "That fast?"
Ivy nodded. "Yes."
Cooper doesn't know the precise reason why his sister needs a break but he has a hunch that it is all about Wyatt.
"If you are doing this because of Wyatt-"
"Wyatt has nothing to do with my decision. I wasted many years and I don't want to regret another life experience. When I get back, I promise, I will help you."
Cooper shrugged his shoulder not buying her thoughts. Ivy left a big project with him in cooperation with Wyatt and Marco. There's no other reason he can portray why Ivy needed a break.
"Fine. Dad knew about this, right?"
Ivy nodded with a smile. "Yes."
Great, what does Cooper expect? The old man loves his only princess and can't say no.
"All right. You can leave now and fix your things. I will send you off tom-"
"No need. I want it lowkey." Ivy stood up. "I don't want to alarm the media," she added and after that, she left Cooper's office.
After packing up her things, Ivy invited Windy to the salon. She wants to pamper for a while before she leaves.
"Gosh, girl, you are really into chasing fame, huh?"
Ivy arched her left brow as she flip the page of the magazine.
"Chasing?"
Windy rolled her eyes. "We just did the heart-to-heart talk last time and we're talking about chances between you and Wyatt. And now, you are leaving the country? For what? To avoid, Wyatt, right-hep! I'm not done yet," she said as she raised her hand to stop Ivy from interrupting, "I don't need to guess your reason why you want to go to London. Wyatt is the main reason. You are avoiding him. And for sure, that guy," she shook her head, "he will chase you."
"Just shut up."
Windy laughed. "See, you can't deny it. You can't hide things from me, Ivy. We've known each other since we were inside our momma's wombs." It's Ivy's turn to roll her eyes.
Windy keeps on blabbering things throughout their session inside the salon and Ivy almost wanted to push her away. But everything Windy said was true.
She's leaving because of Wyatt. New York is not that wide for Wyatt not to replace her. So London, with Wyatt's wealth and connections, at least, can buy time. She's not ready yet to face the guy. She admits it. She's afraid that when they meet and talk, she will give in. And damn her heart as it still beats for him. Yes, she's still into him, yet she keeps on reminding herself not to give in so easily.
Three years of misery were enough. If Wyatt wants to win her back, then he needs to put a lot of effort to coax her.
There's nothing wrong with being hard to get, she kinda needs it.
She fell that fast for him, and she won't let that happen again.
She wants to see how far and long Wyatt's patience is, in coaxing her.
"Are you done daydreaming, Ivy?"
Ivy frowned and rolled her eyes when she heard Windy's voice.
"Let's go to the Department Store and grab some new winter clothes. Winter is fastly approaching and-" she paused when she saw Windy's reaction. "What's wrong?" she asked. Windy stood up and grabbed her arm. "I think I saw Wyatt."
"What?" Ivy turned around and frowned. "I don't see-" she stopped when she heard Windy's giggle.
"See... you are still into him-what the hell!" Windy blurted when Ivy's palm landed on her left cheek.
"You fucking dare to slap me?"
Ivy arched her brow. It's not a hard one. "I just want to remind you that I hate hearing his name."
Windy glared at her. "Stop being in denial and because you fucking slapped me, shop everything I want. I will make you broke, Ivy Morgan!"
Ivy let out a snide. "I will never get broke, Windy Adams!"
Windy scoffed and pulled Ivy out of the salon. She could still feel the slight slap on her cheek. Ivy sometimes is out of control but she's to blame as she was provoking her best friend. "Are you sure you got all the things that you want, Miss Adams?" Ivy mocked.
Windy looked at her cart and smirked. "Yes. After this, let's go to Dior and Chanel. I want to get a new bag and a pair of killer heels," she replied.
Ivy couldn't help but rolled her eyes. "Those will never make me broke..."
"Yeah, whatever. At least it will lessen your money."
Ivy let out a sly smile. "It will get back if I took your shares from our company," she said and after that she turned her back and walked away, making Windy stiffen from where she at. "W-What-hey Ivy!" she shouted her name and swiftly pushed the cart to catch up with Ivy.
When they're at the counter, Ivy is still smiling.
"Don't ever touch my shares. Don't provoke me. If you touch it, I will-"“
"Will, what?" Ivy cut the hum of Windy's words, arching her left brow.
Windy scoffed. "I will tell Wyatt that you still love-" she paused when she heard the cashier.
"Ma'am are you going to pay..."
Windy glared at the lady and turned to Ivy. "Pay everything," she said.
Ivy shook her head and handed her black card to the cashier.
"Where do you want to go next?"
Windy didn't reply, making Ivy chuckle.
"See? Now you know how irritating you are every time you're pestering me," Ivy said.
"Hmph! You should-"
"Don't talk anymore. We still need to go to Dior and Chanel shops," Ivy informed.
Windy's eyes widened in awe but Ivy didn't mind and walked faster. She knew how bubbly Windy was and how fast she gets irritated. She somehow can compare herself to her.
-
"What did you say? Ivy left the country?" Wyatt asked after Jimmy relayed the news. "Since when?"
Jimmy bowed his head as he saw rage started to linger in Wyatt's eyes. "T-Two days ago, Sir."
Wyatt massages his temple as he let out a heavy sigh. "Do you know the location?"
Jimmy nodded. "L-London."
"London?" Wyatt frowned. The fact that Ivy left, thoughts started to build up inside his mind. Now, she's really avoiding him. He sighed. Why is it so hard to coax a girl? "Fuck!" he cursed as he stood up. "Book me a flight tonight."
Jimmy's eyes widened. "B-But Sir... you have to attend the business summit-"
"I don't care. Book me a flight. I will take a break for a month or so. Whatever it takes. Ken can handle the company for a while without me," he uttered as he marched towards the door.
He was a jerk in the past. And he doesn't want to be one once again. He can take every struggle as long as he can win Ivy back.
Ivy is his main goal.
Wyatt called Ken when he left the building.
"How's the meeting?"
Ken sighed. "ABC Corporation keeps on changing the bidding. But I can handle it, Sir. I already discuss your proposal-"
"Good. I will take a break for a month or maybe more than that. I want you to handle the company for a while," he said, straightforwardly which shocked Ken and he even dropped his pen.
Ken was currently in a meeting as he represents Wyatt.
"B-But Sir... you have many projects-"
Wyatt interrupted him. "We can reach each other through calls or facetime. I just need to settle an important thing. I will count on you, Ken. Don't ever fail me. Also, don't ever let my grandpa or anyone in my family know about my vacation." Ken couldn't swallow all the shocking things from Wyatt. He's too slow to process it. What's with his boss's abrupt decision?
Could it be because of his ex-wife?
"What if-"
"Don't give me what-ifs Ken. I am counting on you. I will drop this call and oh... I'm leaving tonight," he said, and after that, he hung up the phone.
IT WAS six in the evening and Ivy is walking down the street of the wonderful city. It's been a while since she visits London. She crossed the bridge and suddenly, she stopped and hold onto the iron rails. The lights in the city illuminated the streets and it gives a beautiful scenery.
And then memories are brought back to life. This is the country where she first met Wyatt.
Her heart started to thump fast when she closes her eyes and reminisce about that moment. That moment when she first fell in love with him.
After a while, she shook her head and opened her eyes. Damn, she went here to relax not to remember those memories which she buried.
But the hell. She will just fool herself. She knew that she still feels a tint of love towards Wyatt.
Yes, it's never been easy to forget someone whom you love deeply.
It's so fucking hard.
As much as she wanted to delete Wyatt from her life, she just can't. Especially now, Wyatt is determined to win her back.
Love can make you crazy, indeed.
Ivy continued to walk when suddenly; her phone rang. She arched her brow as she picked up the call.
"What?"
Windy let out a chuckle on the other line. "Girl, you won't believe this."
"Just spill it, Windy. Don't make me guess-" she didn't finish her words when Windy screamed.
Windy said, "Wyatt followed you!"
"Damn, bitch! Are you trying to destroy my eardrum?"
Windy apologizes and repeated what she said. "Wyatt followed you."
Ivy's heart started to thump fast. She went silent for a while as she tried to calm herself. "W-What are you saying? Don't ever mention-"
"I am telling the truth. Wyatt came here a while ago and asked-oh, scratched that, he came and begged for your address. And girl, I am sorry, I can't resist that punk charms. He hypnotized me," Windy explained.
Ivy shook her head as she heaved a deep sigh and ended the call. She went to London to have some quality time for herself. Yet she forgot that Wyatt will do anything to replace her.
Ugh! This is frustrating.
Is this a sign that she needs to talk to him? But what if...
She shook her head and continued to walk. Instead of replaceing a good restaurant, she decided to get back to her flat.
She needs to think of a way how to get rid of Wyatt. But can she?
Wyatt is a powerful person. And no matter what she does, the man can still replace her wherever she goes.
THE NEXT DAY, what Wyatt did soon as he landed at the airport was scan the reports from Ken. Actually, it was just Ivy's exact location. He prepared everything before he boarded the plane. Good thing, Ivy's place is just within the city.
He smiled while he was booking a unit in front of Ivy's flat. Well, he can buy the whole building if he wants to but he knew Ivy might dislike the idea. Though they're not teens anymore, he still wanted to try coaxing her the way how Jimmy instructed him. He needs the patience to fulfill his agenda. And he won't let this chance slips away. He will do everything for Ivy. Even if he will kneel and beg in front of her.
He doesn't fucking care if one day, he will be on the front page of a tabloid. But for now, he will make sure that no paparazzi will get involved. He instructed all his contacts in London and even hire a private agency to push reporters away.No one should mess up with his plans. Not until he will win Ivy's heart once again.
