The CEO's Empathy Pregnancy Pains
Chapter 139 The Watson Family Gathering

"Michael, what are you up to?" Emily's cheeks turned a deep shade of red.

Michael, still not thinking much of it, worried Emily might back out, so he reminded her, "Acting, Emily. Show your professional side."

Professional side? She wasn't a pro actress!

She initially thought Michael subconsciously wanted to hold her hand, but it turned out it was still for the sake of acting in front of the media and the public. Other than that, they probably wouldn't have such affectionate moments. After leaving the mall, they drove straight to the Watson Mansion. Emily could tell Michael knew the way like the back of his hand.

Even the guards at the entrance of the Watson Mansion and the sentries at the basement door could exchange a few words with Michael quite familiarly.

This further confirmed to Emily that the relationship between the Watson family and the Smith family was not ordinary.

And that friend called "Bryan", mentioned by Michael and Mason, must have been very close at some point.

The Watson Mansion's decor was totally different from the Smith Mansion. The Smith Mansion leaned towards a vintage style, while the Watson Mansion was all about modern vibes.

Looking around, the tall trees in the estate provided ample shade, the red brick driveway was spotless, and the red and white house with its pointed roof was surrounded by trees.

In front of the main building, there was a meticulously manicured lawn, also planted with various flowers, roses, peonies, and tulips. Just looking at it made one feel happy.

Mabel's birthday party was held in the backyard.

Emily, holding Michael's arm, walked in and saw that many people were already there.

Next to the party venue was a wide pool, with delicate lotus candle holders floating on the water. The natural sunlight reflected off them, creating a brilliant light show, making it seem like there was a rainbow in the pool.

"So creative!" Seeing this, Emily couldn't help but be attracted. She was about to go over and take a closer look when a voice from behind stopped her.

It was Jessica. She was wearing a black strapless short dress, showing off her curvy figure, and her hair was styled in a complex and elegant braid, making her look unique and charming.

"Why are you guys so late! I've been sitting with Mrs. Watson waiting for a long time!"

Saying this, Jessica walked over to Emily, twirled her around several times, and looked at her with admiration. "Emily! You look stunning. Forget Michael, I'm practically falling in love with you myself!"

Jessica never hesitated to praise Emily. Wherever she was, there was always laughter and joy.

Emily had a completely different personality from Jessica. She admired Jessica very much and was happy to be friends with her. "You too, very beautiful, very special, I like you a lot."

Just this simple sentence made Jessica beam with joy.

However, Michael, on the side, clearly couldn't join their conversation. He seemed to have something on his mind, and Emily could tell he was probably afraid of seeing someone. Jessica was drawn to the nearby pool and insisted that Emily come along to check it out.

Emily was about to step forward but suddenly thought of something and said to Michael, who seemed lost in thought. "With Jessica accompanying me, you go ahead, go see Mrs. Watson. Since we're here, some things have to be faced, don't you think?"

Seeing Emily nodding firmly at him, Michael smiled. Emily was truly amazing, always able to see through his thoughts. Yes, since they were here, they had to face what needed to be faced. When Michael walked into the familiar living room, his heart suddenly sank. He instinctively looked up and saw the person he hadn't seen in a long time, Bryan.

Bryan was wearing a light gray suit, sitting on the sofa, playing with a game console. And Mabel was sitting beside him, dressed in a dark red gown, with pearl earrings that were particularly eye-catching. Seeing Michael walk in, she squinted her eyes in excitement and waved. "Oh, Michael is here, Jessica just went out, did you see her?"

Although Michael hadn't seen Mabel for a long time, seeing her felt as familiar as seeing Mason. He smiled and walked over, ignoring Bryan, and said to Mabel, "Yes, I saw her. Happy birthday, Mrs. Watson." The light from the pool gradually became a bit dazzling. Plus, Jessica, apart from dancing, had a very short interest in anything else. She pulled Emily to the bar to replace something to drink.

Emily just let her be and accompanied her. Until Jessica was completely bored, the two sat in the rest area. Taking this opportunity, Emily finally had a chance to ask Jessica about Michael and Bryan. "Michael and Bryan?" Jessica said. Emily thought Jessica would be as evasive as Michael when asked about Bryan, but she was interested.

Jessica filled Emily in on everything, from how the three of them met to what happened along the way and where they all ended up.

By the end, she was so thirsty that she had to have a cocktail to clear her throat.

"Jessica, you..." Emily hesitated.

Seeing Emily wanting to speak but hesitant, Jessica burst out laughing. "Emily, you're so cute! Don't worry, you don't know how good my alcohol tolerance is. This won't get me drunk!"

But whether what she said was true remained to be seen. Emily still couldn't believe that drinking several high-alcohol drinks wouldn't have any effect.

Sure enough, it wasn't long before Jessica started to feel tipsy. She staggered to her feet, and Emily quickly supported her, taking her to the bathroom.

The Watson Mansion was large and quite complex. Emily had to ask several people before replaceing the guest bathroom. She directly took Jessica in, and although Jessica didn't throw up, she dry-heaved for a while.

It was then that Emily realized that as a celebrity, Jessica had to maintain her figure. Although she had a good alcohol tolerance, drinking on an empty stomach would still make her feel unwell.

"Emily, I need to change my clothes," Jessica said.

Change clothes? What? This worried Emily.

Jessica had accidentally soiled her dress. Although it was a black strapless dress, it was still daytime, and any flaw would be very noticeable.

Emily asked, "Who should I ask? Is your manager or assistant here?"

Jessica, squatting by the toilet, replied pitifully, "I thought it was a family gathering, so I didn't bring them."

But this was the Watson Mansion, and Emily didn't know anyone except Michael. He was currently talking to Mabel from the Watson family, so it wasn't convenient. So who should she ask?
