The auctioneer announced, "Alright, let's give a big hand to Mr. Smith from Smith Corporation and his wife, for winning our Star of Ruby!" The room burst into applause.

Emily turned to Michael, surprised. "You didn't have to do that."

Michael just gave a small smile. "If I hadn't, you wouldn't have gotten the ruby. We're still married, so go ahead and spend the money. Don't hold back."

He looked at her with deep affection, but Emily thought he was just flaunting his wealth to annoy Bryan. She never considered it might be for her.

Soon, the hostess brought the ruby to Emily. It was truly unique and dazzling. Alice quickly came over to admire it. "It's so beautiful! Emily, I didn't expect our tastes to be so similar!"

Emily smiled, satisfied, and humbly replied, "The main thing is that this ruby is really beautiful. Alice, if you like it, you can come to my house to admire it often, or I can have it cut into new gems and give them to you." Alice's eyes lit up. "Really? Thank you, Emily, you're so kind!"
