The King's Omega -
The King’s Omega – Chapter 5
Dayana woke up in the night, because her mouth was dry and the fever that had started in the afternoon was increasing, as if the fact that her forehead had a wound that was gradually getting bigger was not enough. The king stayed by her side throughout the day. He sent to ask that everything he needed in the kingdom be brought to that room. He would not leave there until Dayana was one hundred percent improved.
Derek had sent her a letter telling her that her stay at the palace had to wait, because some things happened that can’t wait.
He let out a small sigh, running a hand through his hair and feeling more tired than before, everything was getting out of his hands. How was he supposed to take care of Dayana if he couldn’t even know the names of the people who were responsible for doing her such low things?
—Here is your food, my lord—Simon entered with several servants—. I brought the medicine I made for the omega, you should give it to her so she can wake up.
“Thanks, you can put it anywhere in the room,” he murmured, feeling even worse than before. I feel like nothing I do makes any sense right now…she doesn’t seem to wake up.
— She’s probably tired, you’ll see that she will wake up and that in a short time you will have her back with you —the beta helped the other servants—. I’ll let him work, I’ll be in the hallway if he needs me.
She nodded without looking at him, her sight was only on the person located in the center of the bed.
He approached the bed with the medication, placed her head in his lap, and then directed the container toward his mouth. It seemed impossible that he could swallow it on his own, so he had no choice but to do it his way. It had a bitter taste that almost made him vomit, he brought his lips to the omega’s and then continued to open them so he could have more access so he could swallow all the medicine.
—I know you can do it—he put another little more into his mouth—. “You are a very strong girl, Dayana,” she repeated the same procedure.
The omega began to cough forcefully, so the alpha had to put his hand over her mouth so that she wouldn’t vomit the medicine and all the work she had done on her would be lost.
“Calm down, swallow and breathe through your nose,” he threw the container on the floor. “It’s so you can feel better and so you can eat.” He slowly removed her hand. You are better?
“Yes,” the omega coughed again. What happened?
— I must ask that question. Don’t you think? She raised an eyebrow. Who beat you and tied you up like that so you don’t even remember?
“I don’t know,” he said slowly, lying. I don’t remember much of what happened before… How did it come to this?
—Omega—his voice changed to a serious one—. I know you know very well who did this to you, but you are protecting him, don’t you think your king needs to know who you are protecting so carefully?
“I don’t know what he’s talking about.” He wanted to walk away, but the king stopped him. I need a bath.
— No, I already bathed you and it’s too late for you to go out now so you want to do it again.
“But…” she paused. Did she see me naked?
“Yes,” she squeezed his shoulders. A king also has the right to see if he desires his guests, don’t you think so?
“No… well, yes,” she answered uncomfortably. I don’t know how things work here.
—Weren’t those who hid the truth punished in your kingdom?
—Doesn’t the king have secrets that no one can know?
“A king also has secrets,” he responded as if nothing had happened. “You can do whatever you like, but I’ll tell you one thing,” she ran her thumb over the omega’s lips. “You better save me the trouble of having to punish you because you don’t want to tell your king that you are protecting someone who hurt you.” He outlined his neck. It would be a shame if you learned one of those secrets the hard way.
– Are you threatening me?
“Take it however you want,” Thiago pushed her away. Sooner or later I will know who did this to you and not…
—I don’t know who it was or I don’t remember—Thiago remained silent. My head hurts too much to remember well what happened and where. I’m sorry.
“I’ll believe you for now,” he wiped away the imaginary dust. Eat something and then you can go back to sleep, I have to finish the work I have pending.
—Why did she stay with me? —The omega crawled to the other end of the bed, looking like a kitten looking for attention.
—How is it that you can change the way you talk like it’s nothing? She—she sat in the same place as before—. You always talk to me about yourself and now you change… you have done it before too.
—How should I speak?
“Ttéame,” she downplayed the matter. Eat, because that’s all I can offer you at the moment.
– Are you mad at me? —Dayana got out of bed, kneeling in front of Thiago—. Don’t hate me for not being able to remember what happened.
“I don’t hate you and much less am I angry,” he stroked her hair. I like having you around and I don’t know why.
— Surely what the elders say is true and I am cursed.
“Don’t say that,” she clicked her tongue. People today say many things that are lies. I’m still alive and believe me, I like being with you more than you think.
—That makes me very happy—the omega closed her eyes before the caresses. I wouldn’t want you to stay away from me because of the lies people tell about me.
“I won’t do it,” he walked away. Eat and then sleep. I have to finish this before I go to my chambers.
“I understand,” she returned to the bed. If you want, you can sleep with me. I won’t do anything bad.
– I will keep it in mind.
The king did not sleep with her that night.
Two days later, I was standing at the top of the stairs. She didn’t know whether to go down and go to where Thiago was waiting for her or return to her room where she was safer, she just had to ask Simón to lock it and that would be all. Yes, that was the best…
—Come on—Simon’s hands went to rest on his shoulders—. I would like you to stay here, but the king requires your presence.
—Don’t worry—they went down slowly. Can’t you tell him something happened to me?
“No,” she laughed, tenderly. The king wants to see you and you cannot stay in the room forever or stay there to die.
“I don’t like being far from that place and I even don’t like going down,” she gripped tightly against the railing of the stairs. I will return, if that’s what I will do.
— No.
Thiago was witnessing everything from a corner of the main room, how she was complaining and how she was about to cry because they were forcing her, but that girl had to get some sun, she looked like a vampire.
“They’re finally coming down,” he extended his hand toward Dayana. We will go to town.
– That? —the omega asked, with a thin voice—. Are you going to let those people want to kill me?
—Don’t say that, they are very civilized people—they went towards the carriage. Every week, no matter what day I go,” she helped her up. I’m going to town to see how things are.
– What things?
—There are many impostors who collect money from those most in need—the door was closed—. What I do is kill them for stealing from them… they are farmers who the only thing they have is their land and the things they harvest each year, so that impostors can come and steal the little they have.
—I don’t agree with that thing about deaths, but you have a point—the omega grimaced. The carriage began to move. I don’t understand how there are people who spend all their time stealing. I once witnessed that in the forest and it was not pleasant at all… my father lets the poor pay enormous taxes, as long as the collectors take almost seventy percent and if they didn’t, they were killed.
— Your father has earned the hatred of your people for all the bad things he has done since your mother died — he clicked his tongue — That is why people have moved to the south, that is, here in search of a better life that was taken away from them.
—That’s a bad thing, don’t you think?
“It is,” Dayana agreed, playing with her fingers. My mother… no one ever saw her, but my father said she was beautiful…
—How come your mother was a stranger?
—Some servants say that she always spent the day in her room reading, drawing or creating works by hand and that when she went out it was with her face covered —she made a grimace—. She didn’t talk much, and when she did everyone in the room would stay silent to hear her say at least two words.
She—she She must have been a beautiful woman for everyone to have a chance to hear her. Don’t you think?
—Yes, she was. But she married a monster who was only dedicated to making life miserable for everyone.
“With her he wasn’t a monster, he was her God,” he reminded her, and then wiped her cheeks. You are too beautiful, don’t cry. She wanted to have you, you are with me now and believe me, I believe very often in destiny and you are mine.
