POV

"You're not my mommy," Love said suddenly, and all eyes on the table turned to her and then Cali, I think?

I didn't miss how her heartbeat hitched, she immediately stood up and went to Love's side, getting on one knee but my daughter didn't let her touch her and ran to me, I held her.

"She's not Cali, daddy," She was more convinced than ever. I didn't doubt my daughter because everything has been off lately with 'Caliana,'

My brothers were stunned. "Love whatever do you mean?"

"Hey sweetheart, what do you mean? That's Cali," Marcus said, seeing how upset Love was.

"But she's not MY Cali, my mommy,' She exclaimed, growling.

All blood drained from Caliana's face and my Lycan stirred in my mind, he was snarling. I didn't move or say a word, I didn't know what to say, she was Caliana, and everything about her was my mate 'But?' Ward asked.

'Her eyes, her laugh, Caliana's had a certain tone to it, it was short and low, the tingles,' I countered.

What the f**k was going on here and what have I done?

"My mommy doesn't eat Kale," Love pointed out, my little daughter was glaring at her.

"Just because I don't eat one vegetable doesn't mean-" She began to explain herself but Love cut her harshly,

"And my hair, you couldn't braid it," She said. Caliana was at a loss for words, unable to believe this. Her gaze flickered to me for just a second before going to my brothers and it settled on Love,

"Okay," Love said, getting all our attention " I love you, but bet you can't say it back," She crossed her arms and challenged her with her eyes, Cali chuckled in annoyance

"You know I love you, Love," She said sternly.

"NO, no, no!" My daughter was screaming now," It's I heart you, it's only for me and my mommy," Her eyes were filled with tears now and slowly tears rushed down her cheeks.

"Dad she's some evil twin, she did something to my Cali," She cried.

"This is ridiculous, clearly, Love is just confused," She barked, her body trembling. Jamal got to his feet, knowing exactly what I'm thinking about. A dark witch?

"E- Edward my love, this is crazy, tell your daughter to stop,"

My mate would never refer Love to my daughter alone, she always considered her ours since the day she came.

"Who are you?" I couldn't recognize my voice as I asked. Just the thought that she wasn't Caliana made me shook in fear I didn't know I possessed in me, I think that is why I didn't pay close attention to detail and never in my wildest imagination did I think this could happen to me of all people, I'm Edward Chasia for f**k sake. The strongest Lycan Alpha there is for miles and miles.

"I'm Caliana, you know that," She whispered, she didn't hold my gaze as Caliana would. My heart was thumping in my chest at the possibility she wasn't my mate.

"You're a Liar!" Love cried.

"Lena please take my daughter to her room," Lena carried a crying Love in her arms, one by one, all the attending servants left us.

"She's a child, she's making this up,"

"Love doesn't make things up!" Growled Marcos sharply. The woman was crying for good now. Her gaze couldn't fix on one of us, she was prey and she knew it. I was barely containing Ward from coming out and getting the answers he did.

The door opened and a woman I didn't recognize at first glance hurriedly ran to her side, holding her. I identified her as Candace's aunty, I've seen her a few times at the casino she operates. With her came three bulky men who stood in a fighting stance. f*****g CANDACE!

"Candace," I growled, and she was paler at my realization.

"Oh f**k," Jamal murmured.

"You've done it," Garret snarled.

My eyes flashed, and my jaw clenched. So many emotions ran through me, disappointment, fear, anger and it settled on wrath. I was going to f*****g kill this b***h.

"I'm sorry, Alpha, I did it because I love you so much," She threw herself in my face. I saw red, I grabbed her by the neck and threw her against the wall. She harshly landed on the hard floor, I strode towards her but her aunt blocked my path. "Get out of my way if you want to live," I demanded but the woman adamantly shook her head.

"Alpha, you can't kill a pack member, it's against the law," She sniveled, her hands clasped together in a pleading sign.

"He can, this pack member sought out a witch, a dark witch to be precise so in her veins run dark magic, and the law states that an Alpha or anyone can kill a person with dark magic in them, not only that, she deceived all of us and impersonated our true Luna identity whose whereabouts are unknown, so Edward can do to her as he pleases," Jamal explained patiently, looking unbothered by whatever will be done to Candace.

"She was blinded by love, since when is it wrong to love?" She retorted. I lost my patience with her and pushed her away with force and she crashed to the table. One of her bodyguards lunged at me but he didn't reach me as Marcus lacerated his throat open and blood profusely spilled out to the floor.

Screams were heard but that didn't matter to me, my deadly glare was on the woman wearing my mate's face. She was sobbing and bleeding profusely as she shook in fear. I grabbed her again, this time by her hair and she whimpered, my claws came out and they tugged into her neck, and blood and tears gushed out of her. However, as much as I wanted to tear her to shreds, I couldn't do it, she wore Caliana's face, it was too precious to me no matter the soul in it.

"Call Ansley, and lock this woman in the dungeons, I want her real face when I rip her apart," I ordered in a harsh voice.
